I am a woman who loves her guitar so much. Trying to get myself out of my comfort zone. This lesson is new territory for me. I saw Johnny Winter in concert back in the 80's in Maple Leaf Gardens, Toronto, Ontario. His brother Edgar was with him. I will never forget it. He was a virtuoso! King of blues. Such a great lesson! Thanks!
Mr. Aledort....not that it would make any difference to you...or you would even read this comment...however over the many years have watched and enjoyed your guitar instructional work. Especially the excellent Charlie Christian...Hendrix...and this recent watched Johnny Winter video. Thank you for the explanation of the the licks or technique on each players style/approach.....also my personal thanks no... agonizing analysis verbiage overkill...just enough narrative to get the point acrossed. Long road over the years of eagerly watching...definitely appreciative for your generous work. Most kind of you to share.
Seen Johny in 2013 @Peters Place in Gravenhurst On. Ibeen on to him since the 80s.Love the soul. Just like my other hero Rev Gary D You gotta thumb pick to get that timing. Thanks for the lesson Andy. I am always in awe of Mr. Winters slide demonstrations like Medicine Man and say T.V. Mama. Face it the Man left a Blues Legacy fore us enjoy! Thanks to him and his family.
Johnny wrote that song One step at a time. That's the name of the song seen him do it live if I remember right it's on White Hot & Blue. Thank you Andy I know you and Johnny were friends
"One step at a time"! White, Hot and Blue is about the best Blues Rock disc ever! It used to be so hard to find and its so great, really overlooked, thanks for the licks!
Andy you outdid yourself on this one. I've probably learned more from Andy's lessons than from any other. That Strat sounds exactly like a strat should sound.
Second that. I've been learning guitar for about four years now, mainly from TH-cam, and Andy is one of the finest teachers online. He is such a cultured musician and great communicator, every one of his lessons has enriched my understanding of the blues. This Johnny Winter tribute series has been absolutely killer.
Hey Andy. Your time and effort are greatly appreciated. Your skill is greatly appreciated. Because of you and a few other Youtubians, I have learned in one year what would have taken ten without you guys.
very good lessons. also your zz top lessons. i`m an old "beginner" and its alittle difficult..but you show exactly the things i want to play. that you are a very good guitar player theres no needed to say. thanks from germany
Love this Andy!!! I was hoping you might be able to show us how Jimi Hendrix did "Everything is going to be alright" that amazing set he did at the Whiskey. I love how he played Little Wing on that set...Thanks
Bravo!!! Mr. Alledort captured live the essence of JW''s riffing!!! I have two songbooks with the guitar transcriptions made by Andy Alledort and they are very, very accurate. What a guitar player and a professor!!!
you're just wanting to think that because you don't know any theory Johnny Winter actually was a guitar teacher. And there's no way he didn't know theory. as you can't just say to a person your teaching play this here because it sound good man lolol
sinister steve --- you are most definitely so full of shit on so many levels i'm not even going to set you free with the truth. do not reply back, please.

Great job, my man! Keep up the good work!
Great lesson, thanks :-)
Cool indeed!
I never appreciated how nuanced Johnny's playing was. He was amazing and Andy...your not so bad either! ;)
just so others don't get confused when he said return to the 4 chord in bars 7 and 8 he means the return to the 1 chord.
Tasty!
Andy, that was really good! Is there a transcript I could buy?
💟☮️
What is de song name..?
what amp and gear are you using?
if you asked winter how he felt about arpeggio's, he would have said: "i don't know, man, i just play"!

Amazing guitarist and wonderful lesson, I just can't get past the fact that you shave the backs of your hands, it's so distracting.
hahaha
Goddamnit
Now I can only see his shaved hands.... urghhhhhhhh
