Thank you very much for sharing this. Johnny often had to cancel shows I wanted to attend due to health reasons but I finally caught him at First Avenue. Genius playing with raw power and attitude. Thanks again.

If you did happen to know Johnny that well, then surely you'll remember he dd not care for any specific references to musical scales, indeed, Johnny said he did not know the key, but he could HEAR it. So there you have it.
he references scales to help people learn it, that right there just screams that ur a poser. ur shit at guitar and doubt u know jws work like andy does, but ofcourse its always the people that pretend to know about guitar that talk the most shit on here
I remember walking into a record store in the spring of 1969 and seeing the first Winter album which was playing on the Stereo. I did not get it. Bought it, did not get. Then I bought the next one, spring 70', 11/2 of very mediocre blues. I do not get it, to this day. Nice guy I'm sure, but great?
Very cool - Johnny was awesome RIP. Good to see Andy still doing the guitar stuff - I remember him doing columns in guitar mags back in the 80s.
Andy ain't just a teacher.......
Excellent lesson

The original song is Mississippi blues by Willie Brown
100% correct. Although JW definitely plays it quite differently with some really cool licks.
RIP
Nice
Andrew Arriola
Sounds very similar to his excellent version of the Mississippi Blues.
