Thank you for showcasing real life form And function! Always interested in seeing how kids&those car seats work in these vehicles. Love this new Sequoia! Cheers!
Thank you so much for doing this video! I have two young boys and my FJ is getting small for them. I will be keeping the FJ for myself and trading my wife's Highlander for a 2023 Sequoia. Great video. Thanks again.
I noticed that you have a front facing car seat in the third row and it is not secure to a tether anchor. That is extremely unsafe if you get into a collision. The car seat could pitch forward in a collision and that motion at high speed impact could be very dangerous for a child. It could result in brain injury, it is whiplash essentially. The poor implementation of tether and lower car seat anchors is one of the main reason why I am on the fence on Sequoia even though I very much like it but I also have a need to put three car seats in any vehicle I buy and Toyota has only put single tether anchor in the third row. I will most likely get limited trim with a bench in the second row so I can put three car seats in a row as I understand there is a tether anchor in the middle of the second row in a bench configuration.
For these new sequoia Trd pros is there a option for the bench 2nd row cause my family travel slot for work and in the place we are going to we can only import cars 5 years and newer and we are going to buy one of these and if the have that then we are 100% buying one

Grandma wants to know if all the car seats are secured by just straps or are there latche No grandma wants to know if all the car seats are secured by a dedicated car seat latch. .. or only the safety belt thru the back. ?? Does it have some sort of metal anchor.
Hey Mario, there are metal anchors for car seats in the second row and in the middle seat of the third row. The passenger and driver side third row car seats are securing using a seatbelt.
Really nice Toyota stable! You'd have really liked the 2nd Gen Sequoia - WAY more room than the new model, plus selectable full-time 4wd with a lockable centre differential. Can't even compare the space really.
Thank-you for your video Jeremy! Very helpful information for my family and I. Can you tell me the height of the truck including the roof rack? I have the same truck on order and I am worried that it will not fit under my garage door. Thank-you so much for your help! Take care and be well.
I feel like the trunk came off of a sienna 🤣🤣 but this truck does look fire. I feel like they need to put the first gen trunk space back in and why not make an XL model to give suburban and el competition. Im sure toyota will get more american suburban suv customers into their market.
All toyota has to do is that bigger trunk and make a suburban model and they will crush the industry. And all honda has to do is call me and ill show them how to make a real pick up truck and a better honda pilot lmao i know its off topic but its true.
100% agree. Was very looking forward to this truck but when I saw how small the 3rd row and trunk space is I was shocked. Same with Lexus LX600...they just need to introduce longer trim.
Great video! As a fellow car seat owner, I really appreciate this video. :) Did you say the second row does not move back and forth? That actually sounds bizarre..
It does not. It tumbles which means it cannot slide. In my opinion this was a huge miss for Toyota. The Wagoneer second row tilts forward and slides so that you can easily climb in back with a car seat in the second row.
I've read the Capstone trim with 22" wheels, all the reviews seem to agree that there is a "shudder" or some sort of "shimmy" that happens at the rear. Does the TRD Pro drive nicely on the highway at high speeds?
Could you tell me if when you lay both the 3rd and 2nd rows down flat, are they pretty level? Like if I wanted to lay a thin board in the back and sleep back there, would it be flat or is the 3rd row higher than the second row when they're both flat? Thanks!
great vid! we're having our 2nd kid next month and have been considering getting the new sequoia trd pro -- just curious, how did you guys end up getting one? i'm on two waitlists for msrp but supposedly dealers are saying it's going to be a 2 year wait... also is it true there's only 1 tether for carseat on the rear? are you using the tether? why not have 2 car seats in the 3rd row so you can have an adult sit in one of the captains chairs?
Hey Kevin, good questions. We got lucky that our dealer had one on allocation and even luckier that we ended up getting it. Yes there is only one tether in the rear and it’s in the middle. You’ll have to use the seatbelt to secure the car seat one both side seats in the rear. Two kids up front because we are pregnant with our fourth and are due in a month so it’ll be two in back and two in front in just a few weeks!
Congrats for both baby and sequoia. I’m a new parent myself and my kid is still sitting rear facing but i believe that the proper way to install the forward facing car seat is with a tether anchor
Correct, for carseats with a harness which those pictured are. Doesn't matter if you secure it with a seatbelt or LATCH at the bottom, it requires the tether as well up top. The captains chair 2nd row version of the Sequoia can fit 3 forward facing carseats, because there's a total of 3 anchor points
@@b12btone so then how is it possible that this guy has 2 car seats in the 3rd row? It seems like there's only 1 anchor point in the 3rd row. So technically max you can have 2 car seats in each captain's chairs and 1 in the 3rd row (in middle seat).
Ended up getting rid of the sequoia due to a 4th kid. We could fit but our gear wouldn’t ever make it. Ended up getting rid of the second Gen sequoia and got an excursion. Love Toyotas but the new sequoia had a miss when it comes to cargo space.
It drives super good on highways. Very smooth. The TRD Pro roof rack hums at high speed but the driving technology (adaptive cruise, lane assist) are really convenient. I’m getting like 16 mpg after 1500 miles.
Hi Jeremy, great video's. A question...did you test drive your TRD PRO against a Platinum or Capstone? Can you tell me if the ride was any different? What about differences in seat comfort? I really love this vehicle but I'm heard from many reviewers the ride quality sucks and the seats are rock hard. These are deal breakers with the Wife who will be the primary driver. Thoughts? I cannot find a review that compares/contrasts the TRD PRO vs a trim line with 20+ inch wheels that talks about either of those topics. Any input would be appreciated before I invest 80K.
Hey unfortunately we didn’t even test drive this one before buying 😬. So I don’t have anything to compare the two. I’ll say this, coming from a 2014 FJ and 2017 4Runner the 2023 Sequoia is a far superior ride and the chairs are very comfy in our opinion.
@@JeremyLashinske thanks for the reply Jeremy. That’s good to hear. The more I’m reading, the more I’m finding reports of a harsh/crashy ride is mostly associated with 20”+ wheels. Seatbelt strap

When I was a kid we didn't have any stinkin' car seats . The adults would literally throw us in the bed of a truck and drive around town.
