Always had to have a Window open when Plowing. Loved the smell of freshly turned soil.
@@mikedemott1720 moldboard plowing is still my favorite farm chore.
Pretty cool that you got to actually do some of the plowing.
Awesome,Great content! Thanks Jason 👍👍🇺🇸🙏🏼😎
What a classic old power house Jason.... Awesome
As always.
That seems such a small Plow. for such a big tractor Those have to be bigger than sixteen inches
The JD 2500 plows had 18" bottoms. They were a good performing plow but had problems staying down in heavy clay soil as found in Eastern Wisconsin, they woul would start partially tripping in particularly hard dry clay and wet sticky clay. The 2800 series was a better overall design and performing plow.
That is an AWESOME JD classic!! I'd have to say my favorite JD is the 4440.
I enjoy seeing this old iron out in the field.
Oh yeah love the old school equipement and great sound and thanks you Tom i love your youtube chaine the way wee farm
I love jd 30 serie 40 50 60 80 and 830 and other seri
My Favorite JD Was A 4840!
I like the case tractor they're disking with
If you don't get a big smile at 1:40 you are watching the wrong channel.
I'd still rather drive that old tractor than a modern one
They are built to last a lifetime.
Whoever designed this knew how to capture raw power and turn it into something extraordinary!
Gotta love Anerican Muscle Tractors - this JD 6030 sure fits that bill. The New Generation tractors were certainly some of the most stylish machines on the market - liked them better than what came afterwards.
Good to see some in cab footage! How loud is it in there?
We have a 7520 which is basically the same tractor it just is articulated and it’s like an echo box in the cab

Actually nvm im wrong our 7520 doesn’t have the sincro
@@haydentaylor8651 good to know
My dad was a John Deere man and loved this tractor .
Loving the 6030 for sure....
The 6030 is such an iconic tractor😄👍 I can't even pick a favorite jd tractor, there are too many that I like👍😁
John, Deere 4020 and the John Deere 4040
When John Deere introduced the 6030 it was the most powerful 2 wheel drive tractor you could.Period.Allis Chalmers passed it in hp in December with the 180hp 7080
Kool! These are forever tractors.
Nice to see this powerhouse working the field and it sounds sweet. Until later on in the years in our part of the country, the 4320 was the biggest JD that was used (Freistadt/Mequon, WI area). My favorite is still the 4020.
I am a red power man however J D 6030 and 4020 are my favorite
The 6030 and 4020 are two tractors outside of brand preferences I think everyone respects. The AC D21, IH 1206 and 1066, Ford 8000, MM G-1000 are others that cross brand lines in my book.
It was the first tractor i ran back when i was 16 just starting to work on the farm as a hired hand.
My all time favorite John Deere tractor is the 4240.
Always wanted to do this😊
I feel there are way to many to pick a favorite. My first one was a 60 all fuel wide front in 1964, and I still have it as a puller. After that I’ve had between 2 to 6 a year thru 1976. Just got my budget for new tractors yesterday, I’m figuring between 20 to 25 new ones for next year. This is the big year for tractors, I will include 6.5 people in on the selection choice
Excellent video big T 👍👍👍
Good job on the plough. It's great seeing the old stuff doing the job...
Good video 💙🇺🇸💯
These videos just keep getting better n better 👍
I like the 820 - 1020 .
Good tractors.
That guy on the Case 1370 trying to horn in on Tom's action... He already had his own video!
That is not horning in. Just extra tractor action. The 1370 was a surprise Tom arranged for me as I am always on the hunt for Agri-Kings.
@bigtractorpower I know the guy who owns the 1370. Believe me he was horning in 🤣. I kid. Was this all filmed last year at the same time?
Why just a five bottom plow behind that big ol tractor ? I worked for a guy in the mid to late 60's that pulled five 16" plows easy wirh a 4020, seven 16" plows with a 5020.
Hi from Dexter🏠Missouri
Excellent video! I’m interested in how agriculture technology is being used to combat climate change.
I was fortunate enough to be living on a what was considered a big dairy farm in the 70s in Amsterdam NY as a teenager and they had a 5020. It was the big boy in the area. Looks pretty clean, not like the kind of soil in Amsterdam with lots of rocks.
My uncle had two 1206 Internationals that pulled 5 20s molbourd plow right along.
My friend.
Keep the video's coming.
Awesome beast 👍👍
what a powerful machine. can it work for hours?
That ground looks really sandy easy pull
Nice video, it is nice to see you operating them sometimes too! I like your format, really have enjoyed watching your videos all these years!
I like the old-school tractors as well, mine would be the 730 LP
I seen one in Patoka bottoms pulling 8 18's
Super💯video
Nice … That sure is one long field….
I use to farm in Western Kentucky. I noticed you have a lot of posts from there. Are you from Kentucky
Great video as always.
6030's were a great tractor and they were pretty popular here in Western Australia, the transmission really needed a gear between 4th and 5th though.
l can't remember what the problem was but l spent a bit of time in the transmission of a few of them, removing and refitting the cab was a major job but otherwise they were pretty easy to work on. l also replaced a few clutches and there were a couple that had porosity in the oil pan and they leaked oil, only time l can recall seeing it and they were replaced under warranty.
l know 4630's weren't as powerful but they were the preferred choice over 6030's when they were released.
Nice to see one still earning it's keep and l'm guessing that's 7520 working in the background?.
Good 👍
Great Vid 👍👍👍👍
Good video Jason. Are they getting the field ready for double crop beans?
Good video.
As always.
Xe ngon rượu ngon Việt Nam đây mấy ông già 🇻🇳🚜😂❤
Nothing runs like a John Deere my ex proved me of that
we ran an 8 bottom plow with a 5010
👏👏👍👍🚜🚜👌👌
have we not already seen this video ? I am pretty certain you posted it about a year ago ( or one very similar with the same tractors )
What did you mean by "when it was retired from production it ended up being the last new generation tractor design offered by the company?"
The “New Generation” tractors were offered after the two cylinder tractors. They were revealed to John Deere dealers in 1960 and ended in 1972. After 1972 they became known as the “Second Generation”. It was the first generation tractors that put John Deere ahead of everybody else and made them The largest Tractor seller in the United States, some say the World.
@@dpdeere Thanks! I wasn't aware of the 'new generation' term. That makes sense now.
Back when john deere was still putting there customers first not so much today john deeres greed is going to bite them it's just a matter of time
I like it and it was a war horse?
The "line of draft " needs to be measured out. When both plow and tractor are set up properly , will not be necessary to "crab steer" the front right tire against the furrow wall. As it is now the
plow draft is pulling front of tractor to the right.
That is operator error. This was the first time I have run a tractor with a plow. Great day in the field to learn.
That baby needs about a 7 bottom on it
They were expensive tractor 30kfor time?
I have one in 1/64
Nothing like the old iron easy to work on and built alot better new tractors have plastic and fiberglass and cost more.
5 bottom? That would easily pull a 7 bottom especially on the level
I'm old school I plowed with 4 16s
Very nice. What tractor do you plow with?
@@bigtractorpower an M5 Moline that's how old I am I do like the 60s and 70s tractors but the new ones are way more fun!
But why are they plowing under wheat stubble
4455 mfwd 18.4-42 rears
Why such small plows for such large tractors
This was plowing for fun and exercise the 6030. Only plow still left on the farm to use.
Why duals only on one side🤷♂️
You can't run a dual on the furrow side. See how that single tire runs in the furrow? If it was an onland plow, like the one the 7520 is pulling, it could have a dual because it would not be running down in the furrow.
5 18s ?
Yes
@@bigtractorpower😅😢😢🎉❤😊😮😢😂❤❤😊😅😢🎉😅😅🎉😂😮🎉😂
Back then, 175 hp was a considerable power. In Europe, tractors at that time had an output of 50-100 hp.
My grandfather owned John Deere for years, pretty sure he had a 4440. Too bad John Deere has turned woke and went to Mexico
