The truck is a 5.4. Look at the information center between the gauges. That is a 2010 model year truck.the 2011 which had the 6.2 has ford`s 4.2" multi color LCD screen between the gauges
The 5.4L engines are almost the same as 2004.. they only changed a few things like the air intake system.. Ford also set the GOVERNED RPM to 5500, remove the electronic governor and you'll hit 5900
@TheBubbabowhunter Of course it went down, it was almost empty. Take any car with an nearly empty tank and mash the go pedal and all the fuel will slosh to the back away from the tank float.
Shorter stroke than the 5.4, bigger bore, bigger bore spacing, 2 big valves per cylinder instead of 3 small ones, 2 spark plugs per cylinder instead of one.
I don't if the 5.4 has changed since 2004 but in my 04 f150 stock redline is 5,000 flat... I'v pushed it to about 5,400 for the last 40,000 miles or so but stock shift point is 4,900
interesting, i thought all the raptor's had the 6.2 in them, could it just be different gears etc that cause it to change gears at 5500, i highly doubt if you lift the hood there's a 5.4 triton lol
The gas goes down so fast probably cause of the acceleration, not because its burning it.....you can see at the end , the needle goes back in place.....
Actually not true, I'm not saying this raptor was burning all that fuel.. But the sensor is in the rear of the truck for the fuel, so what I'm saying is the acceleration will make it go up! Don't believe me? Grab an f150 park on a hill upwards and watch the gauge go up
Incorrect! The 2010 Raptor speedometer only went to 120.. doesn't matter if its the 5.4L or the 6.2L, in 2010 the speedo only went to 120.. trust me i know what I'm talking about..
Gonna whipple my Expedition and dyno tune this month.. The power it's doing right now without a super is still an unbelievable 4.9 sec.. 400+ hp
man thats a super raptor i love that sound
The 6.2 is the newest addition to the trition engine family. If i recall correctly, its a stroked 5.4.
You can get either a 5.4 or a 6.2 in the 2010 year model. They made both, the 6.2 was just optional.
I'll throw my hat in the ring and say the 450 hp diesel excursion i've been in does 0-60 in about 6 seconds. Sweet charger on the raptor.
he is doin 120 and its still a smooth ride!
You know you have a ballsy ass truck when you can actually watch as the gas gauge goes down.
Exactly, it does it on all vehicles, even little civics, the gas gets pushed to the back of the tank.
i like the fuel gage moving :D
lmao
They only offered the 5.4L in the raptor for about a few months in 2010, later in november, they created the 6.2L
Any engine has potential, even the 5.4
The truck is a 5.4. Look at the information center between the gauges. That is a 2010 model year truck.the 2011 which had the 6.2 has ford`s 4.2" multi color LCD screen between the gauges
@Blacke30 2.9 is the output of the supercharger.
not bad for the 5.4! wish they would have put the gauge cluster from the 6.2 in these tho
Actually the 2010 raptors came out with a 5.4 at first then a 6.2. My 2011 raptor is a 6.2 and it sounds like this and has the same red line.
The 5.4L engines are almost the same as 2004.. they only changed a few things like the air intake system.. Ford also set the GOVERNED RPM to 5500, remove the electronic governor and you'll hit 5900
Yes, this is not a 6.2, however, you could get a 6.2 in model year 2010. I know, my 2010 Raptor is a 6.2.
2011 they started offering the 6.2 In all f-150's
@TheBubbabowhunter Of course it went down, it was almost empty. Take any car with an nearly empty tank and mash the go pedal and all the fuel will slosh to the back away from the tank float.
they should have called this truck lightning ,like the old trucks, cuz raptor is something youd name a four wheeler or something.
@lh1bande auto only but the auto has a manual shift mode on the 2012 ones
but still it is still funny considering its a pretty big truck
actually whipple recommends not driving with anything lower than a quarter tank when under WOT. can cause fuel pump failure.
gotta love that electronic limited speed....
i want one so bad!!
Shorter stroke than the 5.4, bigger bore, bigger bore spacing, 2 big valves per cylinder instead of 3 small ones, 2 spark plugs per cylinder instead of one.
@kinkrider888 Edelbrock doesn't make an SC for the 6.2. Just the 5.4
@MrCamaroKiller SVT lightning.. that's what it was made for
who cares about the gas! its still a Bad Ass Truck!!
all that power and 4 wheel drive.....you could outrun a helicopter
I don't if the 5.4 has changed since 2004 but in my 04 f150 stock redline is 5,000 flat... I'v pushed it to about 5,400 for the last 40,000 miles or so but stock shift point is 4,900
Theres a supercharged 6.2 Raptor absolutely ripping to over a buck twenty and you're concerned with the gas gauge? It is a beast of a truck though.
insane
that is sweet!!!!
@MrCamaroKiller Why would you ever lower a Raptor?
interesting, i thought all the raptor's had the 6.2 in them, could it just be different gears etc that cause it to change gears at 5500, i highly doubt if you lift the hood there's a 5.4 triton lol
I get what your joking about, but I think they do that intentionally to make it lighter.
what year did they have the 5.4 in them?
@MrCamaroKiller Sounds like you need a lightning not a raptor.
he passed the limier at 100mph. I have a raptor
he has a point the 6.2 shifts at 6000 not 5500
the 5.4 redlines at 5500 rpm and the 6.2 redlines at 6000 rpm
Nasty
@MrCamaroKiller so you're looking for a Lightning?
they came with the 5.4 and then later offered the 6.2
You can literally see his gas gauge going down lmao
its 5.4l supercharged but still nice
The gas goes down so fast probably cause of the acceleration, not because its burning it.....you can see at the end , the needle goes back in place.....
Thats not a whipple, its an Edelbrock E-Force supercharger
hahaha you hear the whine :)
I can read but some people know absolutely nothing about motors, like yourself which is why you dont notice that this is really a 5.4
race me then mr ford guy
There isn't a 6.2 badge on it during the burnout...
Notice how the fuel gauge is almost on empty haha
Actually not true, I'm not saying this raptor was burning all that fuel.. But the sensor is in the rear of the truck for the fuel, so what I'm saying is the acceleration will make it go up! Don't believe me? Grab an f150 park on a hill upwards and watch the gauge go up
@karlmalone11
Hah. Well you'd be surprised what this one can do...
Actually the 6.2 isn't a triton, Ford doesn't make tritons anymore... The new 6.2 is the Hurricane V8
@Shyhighnikka a 400hp expedition would do nowhere near a 4.9 second to 60......
how the hell is it a 5.4?
Actually a Saleen supercharger...
Incorrect! The 2010 Raptor speedometer only went to 120.. doesn't matter if its the 5.4L or the 6.2L, in 2010 the speedo only went to 120.. trust me i know what I'm talking about..
@Shyhighnikka make a vid and surprise me then...
Change out the gears, super chargers just seem like a waste of money. Thats as fast as a 6.2 can go?
Or maybe the needle goes up because of the deceleration?
@Shyhighnikka straight up lies......... but sick truck.. that raptor not your made up times of an Expo haha
seems slow for being SC'd...
There are other ids of stock Raptors doing the same thing stock.
2010 and part of 2011
Or just see if the speedo ends at 140mph...
@MrCamaroKiller That has to be the dumbest thing iv read in a long time. Lower a raptor.. your crazy.
0-100 in 15.
Nowhere near as bad as the Ford 460 Big Block when you punch it.
not a 6.2 thats forsure
Lol my Efilive tuned Dmax is faster than that
slow
