Love the different kinds of parent relationships in this series. Terry, manly man who loves his biological kids despite his abusive father. Boyle, his adopted kid, treats him as his flesh and blood whilst remaining aware of adoption. Holt, the surrogate father figure. Roger and Jake, who eventually broke their cycle of bad parenting. Rosa's parents, traditional who eventually have to come to terms about how different their daughter is from them. Amy, the only girl in the family who had to fight for parental approval. Masterpieces.
Love how Captain Holt doesn’t dumb his vernacular down for the child 13:22 but talks to him as if any other person regardless of him being an “non-adult”
Which is actually a really good thing to do for children! Children who don't get baby-talked and talked down to tend to have a better vocabulary and overall better development
Jake is so great in detail with the harder conversations. Being bi/LGBTQ+ with Rosa, and race with Cagney and Lacey. He’ll be a great dad to Mac when he needs to discuss difficult things 🖤 I love that we’re getting healthy dads in media 🖤🖤🖤 (also terry and Boyle are wonderful healthy dads as well. And Kevin/Holt to Cheddar 🖤)
Terry is a dad for the entire run of the show, so while mentions of his children might be few and far between, the amount of clips will still build up. Whereas Jake and Charles didn't start having children until the later seasons
Terry saying he can recited “Moana” from memory I’m sure is something my dad can relate to, except it would be “The Little Mermaid” or “Pokémon” in my case.😅
When Moana first came out, my granddaughter was around 4 or 5 years old. She mentioned how much she loved it and would sing songs from it over the phone. I knew she was coming to stay for the weekend on a Friday, so the Sunday before, I got the Moana Soundtrack and learned every song by Friday. When we got in the car, I put it on and *she was so happy that I knew all the words!* The things we do for our kids/grandkids are limitless. 🤗
Nikolaj has been through some real stuff that should mean he would sleep through just about anything. If a kid with THAT back story woke me up telling me there's something in his closet, I'm calling in the national guard hahahahaha
Yeah, my parents always tell me about that time a psychologically unstable, ex covert-agent with severe head trauma (and probably high af) was hiding inside my closet.
I think it has less to do with not liking it and more that he feels that a man his age should know something more mature by heart over a fun family movie
Where is Charles crying at the gender review of Jake's baby , it was funny but always touching that he was all in about his son and that maybe Niko could play with Mack
I'm not a parent ( to humans, anyway...) however, I can MOST DEFINITELY RELATE to ....a cake full of batter!!! The best part of a cake!!!!!!! 😆 Childhood memories...
And the award for the best 99 dad of the year goes to... let us know in the comments below👇
Captain Dad, obviously
the real answer is: all of them (except jake's dad... and his dad)
Terry of course 😎
Captain Dad Terry or Charles
terry and charles tie
Oh yes, your emotionally unstable coworker breaking into your house and hiding in your kid’s closet is totally relatable.
Not that part the monster part
Wait, you guys haven't had that happen to you?
Wait. Do... do yours not do that? Okay. Brb. Need to make a quick call to HR.
@@MegaKnight2012 Not yet anyway
@@kranberry3318why are you a berry?
The only thing missing is Amy struggling to put Mac to sleep. That's iconic to every parenting life ever.
"Nikolaj is having such a rich childhood" is one of my favorite quick gags in the series. That poor, probably traumatized kid XD.
*Nikolaj
Half of them are from Pimento😂😂😂
To be fair... the kid was probably already traumatized before he was even adopted
Boyle's stern "I love you" to Nikolaj as a reprimand is the parenting I expected from him.
Terry naming his kids Cagney and Lacey is the most Terry thing ever
Why? What's up with their names?
@@ambience273 its a show about two female cops
Thank you for this. I was wondering the same thing lol @@mnlg33
Presumably Sharon wouldn't let him call them mango and yoghurt.
@@cruachan1191Terry does love Yoghurt
“somebody at the door” is still one of the cutest Cagney & Lacey moments !
I wonder if that was scripted
Or dubbed by someone else
Remember Terrry said he would die saving the President or he wasn't going to die- the President's he was referring to were his daughters 💖
I knew it! He wants a Jeffords dynasty in the White House!
One's the president and the other a VP. The ultimate power ballot.
You are so on it! I never noticed that! Quite interesting and hilarious af. Very deep character backgrounds.

Ok so I know the whole # of likes and no comments thing is annoying but. Dude this is a great analysis
As a twin, my dad can definitely relate to the "wanting to switch them without telling everyone hehe"
Oh boy... If I ever have twins I will have to fight myself not to do that!

I have zero intention of having kids but hearing that little “somebody at the door!” Had me seriously debating changing my mind for a sec.
1:41 I like the way Rosa said to Terry that he is the best dad she knows😊.
Nikolaj using the "I love you" after greeting Jake and Gintash is the true Boyle family trait.

Boyle being stuck between wanting to savour the moment and fetching the camera is painfully relatable. 😂
The fact that the editor just skip the part of boyle comparing terry to ellen degeneres made it even funnier.
terry was an amazing parent
“And you don’t have to be if that’s who you are! That’s a totally different conversation…”

Like to imagine that Terry dies protecting his president daughters, or doesn't die at all
"Niko.......I love you😐"
"I'm sorry Poppa"
What??😂😂😂
“Every parent can relate to”
Pimento in Nikolaj’s closet:
Watching this amidst baby fever has me weeping

I forgot that line, based Jake FTW

Well no... A traumatized kid is usually super frightfull and rightfully so since he never was able to develop a sense of security
@lehbr7330 in the real world, yes. But, ya know, a comedy.

same here! crazy how relatable that is, huh
Moana is a good movie though! Can’t believe Terry didn’t like Moana. It had Dwayne Johnson!
I think it has less to do with not liking it and more that he feels that a man his age should know something more mature by heart over a fun family movie
It’s more akin to him having to watch the same movie over and over again.
Imagining Cagney and Lacey as mini president Camachos 😂😂😂
HAHAHA!
Hey man, those are my kids, BACK OFF!

I kind of hope none of the scenes involving Charles and Nikolaj are never relatable to parents 😂
the last one made me cry a little
Non-adult! 🤣🤣🤣
5:38 Well that was massively unexpected
Why does it feel like Ava (Terry's third kid) just disappeared and was never mentioned again after that episode where she was born?
ahhhh. i loved this series whished it continued
I can imagine Dwight schrute being in this
