The actually good ending of Warhammer 40k.
The best ending for 40k would be the galaxy uniting under necron hegemony and fighting off the tyranids and chaos.
Although the Imperium ending was good, it would have been better if an alliance was formed, because their goals are the same, defeat The Chaos. The Necrons wanted to close the Eye of Terror and Spire wanted Abbadon's head. It's a win win situation.
Literally prevented the End Times from happening, which is literally sunshine and rainbow for Warhammer's lore as whole.

By the way, did anyone notice, how at 1:35, not only the Eye of Terror itself is closed, but the entire structure of the very spacetime, where this gigantic bleeding wound of reality once existed, returns back to normal, non-warped three-dimensional Euclidean topology? Looks like Necron technology can truly fix what Formless Horror has done to the galaxy, not merely patch it over. All hail Amarkun the Gatherer (Amarkun the Savior by now, probably) and Nepheru Dynasty!

@Red Velvet I guess... the Enslavers were a massive PITA for the Necron Empire, though, hence the Great Sleep. I wonder, how the history would've gone, if, instead of the Great Sleep, they've remained awake and focused their efforts on perfecting the second generation of the Pylon technology (maybe, even mass-producing the Dark Throne), then using those to cut off the Enslavers?

Imagine if the Necrons did something similar for the Great Rift (Cicatrix Maledictum), shutting down parts of it. Multiple Tomb Worlds (each with a larger Null Field Matrix) are maneuvered into position so the Great Rift steadily gets cut off/dissipated

That moment when the Necron ending is actually... not that bad, in fact, closing thee Eye of Terror at the cost of Cadia would be a small price to pay and the Imperium would likely pay it gladly!
Were the imperium guided by a semblance of logic, and not blind xenophobia, faith, pride and just sheer inertia.

If only there were any meaningful numbers of them left... Besides, Imperium is better off with Dark Throne brought into operation. It's stationed in Cadian region of space and is unlikely to leave it any soon, given, that Webway paths, used to bring it to there, have collapsed from the translocation of such a gargantuan machine.
@@caav56 Heard from another person in this comment section that the Dark Throne is not as powerful as the World Engine in offensive/defensive ability but it has prototype 2nd gen Necron pylon technology meaning Cadian Pylons on steroids.
@@enorgvanquisher7044 That was me. Both Dark Throne and Borsis (the World Engine from the novel of the same name) are World Engines, but built for different purposes. Borsis is a mobile fortress, while Dark Throne is a gigantic testbed for the next-gen Pylon technology.

So the Imperium should’ve just stepped back let the Necrons do this. They won’t get back the Cadian region of space but now Chaos loses the Eye of Terror and likely the Circadrix Maledictum with it, sounding a death knell for their faction.
The imperium tried to seal the eye of terror on cadia using those pylons with the help of a necron, but failed after a blackstone fortress got hurled down to cadia and obliterated the planet together with the pylons.
You think the Necrons will be happy with just the Gothic sector? They want the whole galaxy.
Also the Imperium ending is the canon ending, so the dark throne was destroyed, harmless armless was killed and Trazyn is sort of an ally for the Imperium. He has his own agendas but it's possible he will help the Imperium again in future

Because Bobby G got Yvraine as his GF, and she's a pretty trigger-finger one, when it comes to Necrons. Most unfortunate for both the Aeldari and humankind. If only she could get her prejudices and arrogance under control for a short bit... I mean, thanks to the Dark Throne in this ending, Aeldari are now free to go on their Crone Worlds and pick up as much Soul Stones as they want!

@@venus1333 Amarkun seemed fairly neutral to them, as long as they didn't cross the Nepheru Dynasty (which they did instantly). What I say is that it's Aeldari's own fault, that they can't reap benefits of Dark Throne's activation in full.
Because Slaneesh picked the wrong Primach, he/she/it picked Fulgrim when Girlyman is much more likely to think with his super human extension than Fulgrim does.
Imperium allying with the Eldar is doing so from a position of strength. Imperium with the Necrons would not have a position of strength.

If only this is canon... Imperium would have one less massive problem to deal with and can focus on the damnable Tyranids. Then again, the sheer overpowered nature of their technology is why those toaster-lovers enjoy looting Necron tombs so much... I would be ecstatic to get my hands (and/or organic/mechanical tentacles) on C'tan pokemon and anti-warp weaponry (which humanity once had but have lost them in the Age of Strife or something)
Honestly, I actually think that the Warhammer 40k ending that would make the most sense is basically the Necrons conquering the Imperium, destroying Chaos, expelling the Nids and genociding the Orks and Dark Eldar (the Necrons clearly don't like either of those). Depending on the fate of humanity under the Necrons that would actually be a bittersweet ending, especially if there is some king of deal, like humanity becoming an autonomous part of the Necron Empire. The Emperor would probably die and also all the space marines, but the galaxy would finally have some peace and maybe humanity could even thrive again, considering the Necrons don't seem to be hostile to Humanity as a species.

The nids avoid Chaos as well since chaos also hard counters them. No biomass since any demons they kill just "poof" back into the warp.
Depends on the Dynasty if you use games as canon since in most, from Dawn of War to Mechanicus,the robot zombies tend to get stomped.

Every source I read hype the necron as some ancient terror, but there is barely any damage to the imperium by the necron's hand. Most of all, the necron feels like some big monster of the week to show case how the imperium is heroic.
@@adamsteele23 Only Chaos Daemons hard-counter Nids, and only in the sense that the Nids gain nothing fighting them; Traitor Astartes and cultists represent 99.9% of Chaos' threat and they're just as chewey as everyone else.
That's why pre-Great Rift the Nids were content to simply ignore it unless directly provoked. Post-Great Rift Chaos has been reclassified from "minor irritant" to "actual threat", with things like Hive Fleet Kronos as the immune response.
@@Weigazod Well, they pretty much are. Molecular destruction weaponry. Immortal. No biology to consume or exploit. Regenerating vessels that don't require repairs. However, they are also split into dynasties that may or may not share a common goal so it is easily to have infighting. Their numbers are also relatively low compared to the other races since most of them have not awakened. Because of these reasons, it is very likely they won't form a big enough force to actually threaten the Imperium.
Lastly, because Chaos and Tyranids are pretty much common foes for both races, they don't really seek to fight each other, Trazyn even secretly helping the Imperium on Cadia.
@@adamsteele23 Necrons are the only ones that hard counter Tyranids. They provide no biomass while having molecular destruction weaponry that the Tyranids cannot adapt to.
Chaos is not only made of demons, they are also made of traitor humans as well which, with the exception of Nurgle "blessed" individuals, can still be consumed. The Tyranids even adapted to Chaos by being able to block all connections to the warp in an area.

in M81 he is waken up by the heat of reentry, crashes into a planet. Shortly after he gets to his feet and finds himself in Necron Town. Necron towers full of Necrons as far as the eye can see.
He mutters the only words that are approrpiate "...well this stinks"

Something like "If we can't perform reversed biotransference right now, might we, at least, try to return minds to our servants? Not only it's not fun to rule over mindless automata, but if that little experiment succeeds, we should be able to restore our own minds as many times as we need, potentially removing the need in reversed biotransference altogether!"

I played this campaign with Max Starting Bonus Resources. I steamrolled through pretty much everything I came across. Once I got my full industry working pumping out battleships. It was over. True to the lore as well with how OP the Necron Tech is.
The other fun is when you fight an NPC who prefers Escorts, and you have a Tomb Ship with its Lightning Arcs set for anti-Escort mode.
Anti-Escort mode = where the Lighting Arcs are reduced to half their strength, but that half strength is applied individually to EVERY ship in range. So if you had a strength of 20 before, now you only have a strength of 10. But if there are five ships in range, then every one of them gets hit with a Strength 10 attack.
Necrons: *sees Eye of Terror* Eww what is that. *flips switch*

@@UnknowableAbsolute I mean... Dark Throne, as stated by Trazyn, was intended to be a prototype for a next generation of Pylon systems, which would've had far more permanent effect on Warp Rifts, than usual Pylons.

It is a good ending, to be honest I was a little disappointed in the lack of Necron / Tyranid cinematics, it was all Imperium with an intro and an ending. Still awesome though :}

Good since there'll be less demons to take care of, and less people to die.
Bad since the Emperor is said to die due to the lost of Eye of terror because his soul is still inside his body due to his psychic powers, that power's source is the Warp which is also connected to the Eye of Terror....Also Necrons will become the biggest enemies the galaxy will have next to Tyranids if they go out of their way to conquer worlds again.

Terra literally had a second eye on it that is only being held closed thanks to the emperor... pretty sure if the first closes that he’s still fine since there is still a tear in the warp.... and closing these tears doesn’t mean the emperor loses himself, I don’t know where people get that

I think few have noticed that this viedeo confirms the presence of more world engines in the galaxy (yes, the one that the imperium managed to destroy after 12 attempts and millions of deaths among the "imperial" soldiers)
Dark Throne is much weaker on combat capability, than Borsis (a few Tremor Cannons vs more guns than entire Dynastic fleets), but it seems that's because most of its volume is occupied by the next-gen Pylon system.
If any of the endings to this game are Canon, I want it to be this one. Sure Girlyman dies, but the closing of the eye of terror and the death of The Armless One is worth it.

IMO for necrons the best option is just to kill everyone because they litreally got no use for them, and aside from that the only reason why I see it happening is out of the way of going back to flesh, which is ehhhhhhhhhhhh, sure you can go back to flesh but I doubt you can get your souls back that easily.

I mean, Amarkun the Gatherer, after becoming Phaeron of the Nepheru Dynasty, was proposing peaceful resolutions (even if of the "get out of here and we won't chase you down to kill you" kind) to the more intelligent parties (humans, Aeldari). Not his fault they've rejected those.
yeah Amarkun is pretty peaceful for a warhammer character, sure he ended up kicking the shit out of everyone but he offered them the chance to leave almost every time.
