_Comme c'est pittoresque_ to see this little Georgian wonder standing in its pretty English countryside grounds surrounded by its graveyard. _Quel délice._
That was a really pretty little church! Loved the video, thanks, Allan! What a sad story for the lady Vyner. Having lost her son, I can see why they had the place demolished. Thanks again!
Hi Allan! I adore the way the sunlight sweeps the exteror wall. If one ignores the bold trees, it seems summer with the singing birds and the cockerel making bald of the Church yard with its crowing.
How very poignant. What makes this so special is that now the young man and his family's tragic story, heretofore a local or regional one, has reached an international audience.
What a beautiful building. At first I thought it must be modern, but your film educated me yet again. Such an obviously well loved church! And such a tragic outcome for the three young travellers all those years ago. His mothers heart was obviously broken. It was such a lovely day when you visited and I loved hearing the rooster welcoming the day! Thank you so much for your films.
Fascinating as always Allan. A family history with wide, and interesting influence. The death of young Frederick obviously was profound and ultimately changed the course of history of this place. The architecture is very interesting and surprisingly modern. The interior is very eclectic as you say. Another lovely ramble. Thanks Allan!
Tragedy struck again to this family in WW2 when Elizabeth Vyner aged 18 and Charles De Grey Vyner aged 19, were killed on active service. There is a lovely fitting memorial window in Fountains Hall near Ripon in remembrance to them which is well worth seeing, it's close to Fountains Abbey. Thank you for posting, you live and learn.
Thank you. I love your presentation style. Nice to armchair travel from BC Canada. I would most certainly be doing this, except for current restrictions.
What a beautiful church. Thank you for sharing. Love the cockerel and birdsong. 😊😊😊😊
Another treasure. Thank You!!

places like this need to be protected and not left to decay!
I already clicked like in the first 30 seconds. I don’t even understand the title but I know it’s going to be good.
Thanks!

Very sad - but a most peaceful place Elizabeth.

Glad you enjoyed the visit, it is fascinating how one tragic event can lead to such change. The place has a very sombre quality to it.

Glad you enjoyed my video, thanks for watching and for your kind words.
Merry xmas eve Allan😊
What style of architecture would have been associated with Tories?
They weren't building much in this period. Most of the great houses built in the 1740s, 50s and 60s are built by Whigs.
Perhaps one your most poignant films - thank you x
Wish we had the same respect for old buildings from the industrial revolution as for the aristocrats in the same period.
I wish we had more respect for all built heritage.
