    I love the Audio Advice Theater Design tool. It makes laying out a theater system much easier.

    Great video going over the steps for mounting the projector for those of us looking to do this ourselves.

    Great video! I got my projector and screen mounted last weekend! The Audio Advice suggested mount was so easy to install and get the projector adjusted and squared to the screen.

    This video covers so much I wish I had followed when I mounted my first unit. Nice job!

    Great video! If you're in the framing stage, it's also nice to go ahead and add a section of lumber between the studs to secure the mount to.

    If doing a theater from scratch, would it be best to have a projector outlet on it's own circuit? This is what I"m doing with my audio recording gear. (somewhat of a music recording/rehearsing/mixing space and I"d like to prewire for a projector and surround for the future)

    At 3:33 - does the projector mount use a mounting plate for the Epson? I ask because the Universal Projector Mount on the website appears to use 4 legs when choosing an Epson projector. I'm mounting an Epson 5050ub projector this weekend.

    • @AudioAdvice
      @AudioAdvice  ปีที่แล้ว

      That is a Sony projector, but the Epson mount is very similar, you really only need to hit the studs with two of the legs or use heavy duty anchors for all four. Hope this helps

    While obviously a lot more work if you don't have an adjacent closet or room nearby, what are your thoughts on a separate projection room? Then all the hardware could be heat/noise isolated from the viewing space. I'm thinking of something rather basic, like placing a small window in the wall between the my basement living room and adjacent bedroom closet - just not sure what kind of window/glass would over the best transmission of light and stay clean.

    • @AudioAdvice
      @AudioAdvice  ปีที่แล้ว

      That is an excellent idea, especially with a projector that has a louder fan. Just be sure to have air coming into and exiting the room with a thermostat control as projectors can heat up small closets. Home theater glass makes a good product, but you may not even need it.

    Wow...$300-$722 dollars for a ceiling mount... I bought mine on Amazon for $16. This was a great video, but I had to say something about those prices we saw.

    • @AudioAdvice
      @AudioAdvice  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      This is a very high quality mount with fine tune adjustments. If you have a high end projector, you will want to be sure it is perfectly level and held up with a high quality mount. The price reflects the incredible quality of the mount.

    I love the videos but the home theater design tool is really not close to what it's touted to be. Very clunky and offers adjustments only to room dimensions and throw distance and seating distance. There are no measurements displayed for the speakers it places in the room and there is no freedom by the user to adjust as needed. Honest feedback here. It's just really not useful. But maybe I'm overlooking hidden tools.

    • @AudioAdvice

      You can see every measurement by hitting the measurement button on the bottom. It will show you where to put everything in the room. As well as you can click and drag the seating or speakers and move them as you please. Check out this video to see all the capabilities: th-cam.com/video/zEkkxRglqjk/w-d-xo.htmlsi=prw279rMAFfCQfV-

      @@AudioAdvice Not that I can see. I've tried on my phone and a touchscreen laptop. It doesn't allow you to move speakers or screen. It also doesn't give measurements for the speakers it automatically places. I can only move the projector forwards and backwards as well as the seats. Nothing else.

    • @AudioAdvice
      @AudioAdvice  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Interesting. You should be able to click on the seats and drag them forward or use the slider that shows seating distance and move it forward and back. Same with the speakers. The screen will only be able to change sizes and will be placed in the location that is recommended for your setup. I'm sorry it's not working on your end. Were you able to watch that video we linked? It walks you through all those steps. @@AudioAdvice I did watch the video yes. It didn't show them independently moving the speakers. I did find when I save the design that it does give measurements for placement of the speakers. I was hoping to be able to explore placement options for a room that is slightly irregular. The tool is helpful. I just wish it were more customizable but Im sure there is a great deal of challenges in creating a tool so specialized. I appreciate your quick responses and Im a fan of Audio Advice for sure.
