This has been one of the hardest years of my life. And I'm 66. The things that happened this year were things that didn't have to be. But I always looked forward to your videos. They gave me hope. For the past 3 years, my family has celebrated the winter solstice with about 50 homeschooling kids. We meet at a local park and read about the winter solstice while decorating lanterns, and then when the sun sets, we all go for a candlelight hike in the woods. Battery-operated tea lights for safety. But it's so magical seeing these lights bouncing through the trees.

I've been trying, for some time now, to be a more positive person - more objective. I have issues with anxiety, and it is so frustrating when I can't figure out what is causing it. I find watching videos like yours helps. I also remind myself to list all of the things I am grateful for, not that I don't appreciate my blessings, but I need to keep reminding myself how blessed I am. I have no reason to have such feelings of anxiety. Yes, it's been a tough year. I lost my dad and my brother in law, less than a month apart, after losing my sister, the year before. Then we lost my second cousin, once removed, who has always played a loving roll in my life. And if that wasn't enough, just 2 days before Thanksgiving, we lost one of our cats, during a 3rd treatment to remove fluid from around her heart. It was too much for her and she didn't make it. And I still cry for her. She was the sweetest cat and those last few days, spent so much time on my lap being petted and comforted. So, yes, thank you for the videos, Thank you for sharing. I wish nothing but the best for you and Charlie. Merry Christmas and Best Wishes for a Happy, Healthy New Year.
Kate, your videos always make me feel good. I've had a challenging couple of weeks. Last Thursday, I was in the emergency room with a kidney stone, then, on the Saturday after that, I burned my hand while cooking. The next morning, I woke up with a horrible sore throat and was pretty sick for several days. It's been rough but I'm on the mend now and your videos make me so happy. Thank you for what you do.

I hope it all works out for your hard drive. I have a love/ hate relationship with my computer 😞 When I was a kid, and we ran out of wood for the fireplace, mom had us tightly pack down newspaper in 1/2 gallon milk cartons and we used them as logs. They burned fairly long and they were free!
What kind of drone do you have? My husband has one but we are fearful of flying it right now. I roll my meat in flour and it does the same thing as baking soda. I really like your videos. They are positive and calming. I have been in bed sick this entire week so thank you for making me smile.😊

I've been sick with a virus last couple of weeks, it's going round all of the schools here in the UK. It was a very humbling experience as I haven't been that sick for a while. Couldn't eat for 3 days as I had a high fever, just managed to stay hydrated. So I've been gently trying to get my bubbly gut back into shape! Loved the shot of you outside by the fire with your tea, the simple pleasures Charlie cute as ever, munching his little snack. I love Shepherd's pie, absolute comfort. I love frisèe lettuce! Be sure to separate the leaves and rinse,thoroughly, in a bowl of water…usually a bunch of grit comes out. You don’t want that in your food.

When I was a kid, and we ran out of wood for the fireplace, mom had us tightly pack down newspaper in 1/2 gallon milk cartons and we used them as logs. They burned fairly long and they were free!
What kind of drone do you have? My husband has one but we are fearful of flying it right now. I roll my meat in flour and it does the same thing as baking soda. I really like your videos. They are positive and calming. I have been in bed sick this entire week so thank you for making me smile.😊

I've been sick with a virus last couple of weeks, it's going round all of the schools here in the UK. It was a very humbling experience as I haven't been that sick for a while. Couldn't eat for 3 days as I had a high fever, just managed to stay hydrated. So I've been gently trying to get my bubbly gut back into shape!
Loved the shot of you outside by the fire with your tea, the simple pleasures Charlie cute as ever, munching his little snack. I love Shepherd's pie, absolute comfort.
Lastly I got bit emotional watching your flashbacks over the year, very cathartic though. I feel like many other kindred spirits here, that I am on the path/journey with you. ❤❤

Hi Kate and Charlie from a very cold Shropshire, England. There is something very magical about all the seasons. For me, Winter is perhaps the most magical of times. It's such a wonderful time for introspection and going inward and just feeling warm and cosy. I love it. Trees especially look so wonderful and sculptural without their leaves.
