Clanner: You can fly!? Roc Pilot: No… Jump good. Congrats on your first custom Mech video Red. I laughed at the Mad Cat moment when the Clan computer couldn’t figure out if the Roc was a Warhammer or Phoenix Hawk, wouldn’t have been surprised if Clan Wolf started calling it the War Hawk in response. Looking forward to the next custom Mech, the Baal.
Turns out they've already had it the whole time. They seceretly developed it 200 years before the Roc was built, knowing that one day it would be constructed. They brought they with them from the Clan Homeworlds but have kept them mothballed all this time. They thankfully, have 250 of them, along with cryogenically stored elite warriors who know nothing but piloting the Paypar, the mech they developed, and they will be prepared to go into battle to slaughter the Roc and the League without problem. They were activated a year after the Roc first appeared, to lure the League into a false sense of security, so that their victory would be all the more calculating and disastrous for their foes.
I liked the story behind it. I will admit that some of the talking up of it reminded me of the adage that every mech has two flaws: "the designer, who think they've designed an unstoppable warmachine, and the mechwarrior, who believes them". But if we can't get a little OP with our fan creations, then when can we? It absolutely does feel like something that could exist in the battletech universe.
I greatly appreciate the lengths you went to to create a believable, fitting story around the Roc's creation and existence (showing the trials and tribulations involved), rather than just going "look how cool this mech is, and how cool everything surrounding it is". There's always a risk of making an original creation "too good", but I think you did a good job of avoiding that pitfall. Great work all in all!

Great video, fantastic content, and sharp art. Was a fun time that one night where you rolled out the fight at the river. Look forward to the next big thing.
Yea, the first half of the Battle of Zlen is based on a rough battle that was rolled out lol
Dude, this is such a Nasty Blaster of a Mech ... I Love It!!! I would love to run this along a King Crab, Atlas, and a Black Knight as a Giant Anti-Clan Middle Finger Lance
I really REALLY want a mini of this, it looks so cool!!!
I really enjoyed this one, a really interesting design and narrative
Glad you enjoyed it!
Solid custom. Imagine my great sadness that this was IlClan era and therefore too late for me to provide a more consistent source of clan-spec ERPPCs.
If it was a Davion mech, it could've had Clantech ERPPC's. lol
@@BigRed40TECHif it was a Davion 'Mech, the D configuration would have been the most popular one lol
I just love this mech, and it's nice to hear more about house marik for once. Down with clan puppy protagonists!
Even though this is a homebrew Mech, I wouldn't be surprised if it becomes canon in some way or form. I only need to point at the UrbanMech's Arrow IV variant to prove my point.
Glory to House Marik.
My favorite variants would be the A, E, and R. Especially the R for it's... uh, 'peacekeeping' qualities.
They're bringing peace! Peace I tell you! :P
Great video, I could see this in MechWarrior.
Nice to see some Czech representation in Battletech! If you want some help with pronunciations of Czech, let me know, the names are quite tricky for foreigners.
Fun fact, House Marik core royal family started as Czech nationalists, who eventually went into space. Czech is also a frequently used language in the FWL's province of the Marik Commonwealth. The more you know! lol
Brilliant work Red. Fantastic art and a well researched background that really makes this custom created mech feel like part of the universe.
Can't wait to see where this mech turns up next because we all know you can't stop the Roc.
Purple bird strong!
Glory to Marik!
PBS!
... Purple Bird Strong!
I play your vids during painting sessions. Keep up the good work!!
Many thanks!
