  • On Easter Sunday March 23, 1913, a storm system spawned seven tornadoes in eastern Nebraska that ripped through Omaha, Ralston, Yutan and Otoe (called Berlin at the time). The twisters would be responsible for 168 deaths in Nebraska and Iowa.

    Thank you. :) The not so good old days with no radar. I love the photos. Interesting that Johnstown gave back to Omaha after being helped by Omaha during their flood. Also interesting that Regina sent help. Easter tornadoes reminds me of the much later Good Friday outbreak. Nice that an African American woman was represented in the pictures. And that all classes dug in immediately to help.

    0:12 perhaps the most incredible picture of the actual tornado hitting Omaha it was very hard and rare to get a picture of tornados especially back then

    Where my house is now is where the tornado hit, that’s crazy thinking about a deadly tornado hit before my house was built

    The Tornado was a Wedge Tornado (A Giant Tornado)

    I moved out right before it hitted.i live in north Carolina now because of that
