I have Eargo SE about 4 years old tech wise. They are happily, exactly what I wanted. Invisible, secure, they don’t fall out, simple, and work….no squelching …wonderful! Mine cost $ 1550 not cheap but we had the funds and they do the job. No batteries, they snap into a charging device. They don’t get lost. Charge the charger and you can charge your hearing aids completely 100% for four days.
I have mild to moderate hearing loss. I’m looking for an iic hearing aide that is very discrete. Out of all the custom fit products available out there, are they any brands that work better than others in noisy environments? Thanks

@Amankumar-ms2ft I've been using them since June 2023 and LOVE them. They are very comfortable even for 16+ hour days. I forget that I am wearing them and no one can see them unless you point them out. Closer to real life hearing than anything else I have used. I highly recommend them.

Hello Dr. Cliff.....long time viewer/listener and fan. Any comments are always appreciated. Keep the content coming and Best wishes in 2024 !!

I've not had a great user experience with the Signia Silk Charge & Go 7IX. I got them in Jan 2024, and they have had to replace them 4 times - currently awaiting a new right aide. Hearing quality degrades over time, then they stop working. I have also had a lot of problems connecting to the charging base - you would think it would be as simple as taking out of ear, clean and drop into charging base to start charging. It is like that originally but after a while they don't connect, so you have to fiddle with it to get them to charge - I spend probably 5 minutes each night doing this. Signia have replaced the charger twice. Overall, I wish I had bought something else, as not worth the money I spent on them....
I wasn’t aware of the custom tip for the Signia. I’m currently a new patient and going through the learning curve of how different things sound using a hearing enhancement device. Even with the smallest rubber shield they feel excessively tight in my ears. Will ask my audiologist about the custom tip . She did take mold earlier when we were planning a different approach . Thanks for video .
I was a Lyric user for a year and absolutely loved them but had to stop due to 1. It not having enough power for my hearing loss and 2. It causing a overproduction of wax and skin that would essentially kill the device by week 3 of use. I used to love them but the constant dr. visits and lack of “aid” in my hearing loss made have to stop. Has there been any improvement on the leven of aid these provide, or are they unchanged from what they were in 2019?
Dr.C, I was referred to your channel from a friend that sees you in AZ. Unfortunately, I'm in CA. I have Rexton Adore iX since 2018 and in December 2023 I was at a gun range and ended up with severe hearing loss to might right ear. I haven't worn the right hearing aid since and had gone to my ENT immediately after the incident and took steroids which didn't help much and they also tested my hearing twice over two months and will again in March. They did have a baseline from 2007 so they know I did lose allot of midrange due to the incident. The worst part is buzzing only when there is sound/voice that masks the sound/words. I'm taking a ton of supplements the ENT approved and he hopes it will improve over time. What hearing aids can helps improve the hearing and deal with the buzzing due to recieving sound? It's much more prominent when the sound is from a distance vs a phone up against my ear or wearing BT Ear Buds.
Hi Dr Cliff, thank you for this video. what would be best HA for mild-severe hearing loss? I just tested Phonak Life 90 and they sounded weak, low volume...my voice was over amplified etc etc Thank you
Lots of variable to the question you asked. Do you have a steep HF hearing loss? Were you in domes or custom earmolds? Did they match Rx targets with Real Ear Measurement? Did they determine if it was occlusion effect or ampclusion effect?
Thanks Dr. Cliff! Would you recommend the Phonak over the Oticon and Starkey iic's regarding overall performance? Which would perform best in noisy environments?
Your information is fantastic. I'll probably go to USA in a couple of months, but anyway, do you have any information to find an invisible one here en Chile? south america... Thanks!!

I had a test today and was told I have smaller than average size ear canals but not excessively small. I don’t want an over the ear aid. Can I still find an invisible in the canal aid that would be discrete? Should I go for a custom made one? Any recommendations?
Thank you so much for the information. I’m new to this whole subject.I will soon have an appointment to get a hearing aid. I was struck by how visible the black hearing aids are. Certainly not invisible at all. I’m wondering why you refer to them as invisible? Thanks again.
Dr.Cliff, Thank for another great video. For the Signia Silk IX for single-sided hearing loss, how should it be effectively set up? Is there an in-the-ear CROS transmitter too? Would the normally hearing ear be nearly fully occluded with the Silk IX hearings aid? Maybe having occlusion is better to prevent received sound leaking out? Thanks.
It needs to be verified with REM. There are no other in the ear CROS transmitters on the market. No occlusion if you us an open dome or vented sleeve. The determination of which dome or sleeve should be identified using REMs.
Hello Dr. Cliff ! I have Reverse-slope hearing loss and also tinnitus 24/7 ... What kind of hearing aids do you recommend ? I've always wanted to try Phonak Lyrics, do you think they will be a good option for me ?
Hi Dr Cliff, great video. I have single-sided hearing loss and one ear with normal hearing and recently got the Oticon Own, but I'm in my trial period so I could switch to the Phonak Virto Titanium... Is it just the titanium or are there other features about it that you like over the Oticon? My thinking was that the "open sound" philosophy of Oticon would make it sound closer to my ear with normal hearing. Just curious on your thoughts? My local HA providers only carry Starkey in office, so I wasn't able to compare the sound of the Own vs Virto. Thanks!
I would ask your Audiologist this question. If they've verified and validated your performance, and it still isn't good, I would switch to a different brand to try. This happens with about 0.5% of my patients, but it is possible that your performance would be better with a different device.
I sort of miss analog sound. Although i have 24/7 tinnitus and does become a bit louder after removing my hearing aids, it’s not the cause of my insomnia. Are the Phonak Virto P90 Titanium water proof? like if someone splashes you next to a swimming pool or throws water ballon or soaks you with a water gun or rain?
The Signia Silk 5 IX aids are HORRIBLE in any crowd or loud situation. I have them and if I'm in a supermarket with vent fans, the fans sound like very loud static and I have to remove the aids or get out of the store. If I go to a restaurant, I take the case with me or leave the aids at home. I cannot stand all the noise they make and HAVE to remove them. If I'm eating something crunchy, I can hear the crunch x 3. I can also hear myself talking inside my head as well as outside when the aids pick up my voice and there's a slight delay - confusing to say the least. I really wanted to like these, but at a cost of $5,275 I really expected them to be much better... By the way, I'm working with a 15 year veteran Dr. of Audiology who has spent hours with me.
