In this Slay the Spire gameplay, Baalorlord does an Ascension 20 run with Ironclad. First, he gives tips on choosing a path and a starting bonus. Later on, he explains his decision for each card he chooses and why it's important to the build. Towards the end, he gears up for an epic Heart fight you don't want to miss. I use a few mods for Slay the Spire. All of them are Quality-of-Life improvements and do not have any effect on the gameplay. Here are all of the mods I have active:
Slay the Relics Exporter, used for the live stream: steamcommunity...
Relic Stats, to keep track of how many times the relic effects happened: steamcommunity...
UI Sliders, to reposition the Discard and Exhaust piles, so that they are not hidden behind the camera: steamcommunity...
Run History Plus, giving us more info in the Run Summary screen about the run: steamcommunity...
Map Marks, for path highlighting - here, typically, Green means an easy, intended path, and Orange or Red means a harder path that I might take if I get good rewards: github.com/cas...
Even though I do not use it, I recommend Minty Spire for people looking for various Quality-of-Life improvements: steamcommunity...

Happy Birthday! I noticed something funny. You sometimes rock side to side at the standing desk and at times it matched perfectly with Ironclad's little bob animation. That gave me a good chuckle. I've been watching you for years Baalor and you're a huge reason why I still have so much passion for this game. Thank you!
That RNG on dead branch. The spire pulled out all the stops for Baalar's Birthday
I'm at like 1:47 and had to stop watching so I could immediately go try this myself first because it sounds EPIC. I'll be back! :) EDIT: Back 2 hours later after playing same conditions (Shard and Runic Pyramid) victorious! RNG was extremely kind - Preserved Insect into Ice Cream into White Beast Statue into Mummy Hand AND Dead Branch and took Sacred Bark from Act 1 bosses, which was as absurd as it sounds - I was an absolute elite disposal unit. Triple bosses didn't really matter with all that goodness, I exited Act 1 with over half my health despite everything. I did get stuck on 3 energy but managed to snag Seeing Red/Bloodletting/Turbo. Combust x2 + Rupture sealed the deal, now to see how BL fares :)

Fatal Ritual Dagger, Dead Branch provides Exhume and kill with the Ritual Dagger again. Haha, love it!

You can always save and load the game if you make a bad decision in battle. That makes it much easier

Frost struggled with this mod for so long. Baalor slaps it with a meme. The shaman swims where the psychopath drowns.
well to be fair frost has 2 other mods which make fights harder in general
@@fantamiesYeah, those googly eyes distract so much they cause horrible missplays.
@GerBessa he had the humility mod, which adds an effect/buff to every enemy and fight to make them much harder (ie, guardian starts in defence mode, transient lasts 7 turns and has 999 regen) as well as the smart ai mod, where enemies always do their hardest move so its way harder to do anything
@@Synthooo Oh, I was talking about when he showcased the ascension+ mod a few months back, not the recent vids.
@@fatrickbateman9473 even it that case, baalor started off with prism and runic, where frost had a non seeded one. Its not a fair comparison of skill, but they are both very good at the game

I'm surprised that as brutal as this is, it's not nearly as bad as it could be. Imagine "you start each combat with vulnerable 3" or "start each combat with one each status." Those would definitely be borderline impossible, but interesting to watch
Start with vul isn’t that bad, just turn one everthing as watcher or any infinite deck or pellet. Start with each status tho is actually brutal just like having ascender's bane but 10 times worse, i imagine bottle of some kind and bag of prep is must so u guarantee not getting trash hand on turn one, anyway deck must be giga strong to complete this challenge.
