I use a few mods for Slay the Spire. All of them are Quality-of-Life improvements and do not have any effect on the gameplay. Here are all of the mods I have active:
Slay the Relics Exporter, used for the live stream: steamcommunity...
Relic Stats, to keep track of how many times the relic effects happened: steamcommunity...
UI Sliders, to reposition the Discard and Exhaust piles, so that they are not hidden behind the camera: steamcommunity...
Run History Plus, giving us more info in the Run Summary screen about the run: steamcommunity...
Map Marks, for path highlighting - here, typically, Green means an easy, intended path, and Orange or Red means a harder path that I might take if I get good rewards: github.com/cas...
Even though I do not use it, I recommend Minty Spire for people looking for various Quality-of-Life improvements: steamcommunity...
Baalor tells us not to build a deck around rampage so he could keep all the rampage for himself.
Pretty sure this is my first time seeing a rampage deck, that actually has rampage as the main damage engine. There will always be new things in the spire.
Thanks for this comment. Now I know that I want to actually *watch* watch this run, rather than just putting it on in the background
Did Baalor just demonstrate that Rampage is a correctly tuned card?
It’s not easy. I’ve tried several times and always fail.
The problem with rampage is that it takes an awful lot of effort to make it work, so you are all but guaranteed to find a better damage plan while you are trying to set everything up to make rampage good. That being said, it’s fun to see the number go up so I like trying to force it anyway sometimes despite better options.
Built a rampage deck a few hours ago, before tuning into this vid. Abacus + sundial with Pommel strike + Rampage. Granted it would have worked with Shrug + Pommel, but I like big numbers & Rampage gets pretty big numbers.
Although I was taking me a bit to fully setup unlike Baalor here, my guy Rampaging the moment he is allowed to play cards.
When rampage is practically your only source of damage it turns out it's basically 1 energy deal damage and gain 8 strength. Very cool deck!
You make it sound so good…
Nice to see a rampage pop off, but think I still agree with the chatter who said rampage would be more pickable if it reshuffled into the deck like tantrum does.
It would be very strong at that point. Clad doesn’t need any more strong cards! And clearly it can be done even at its current mediocre state.
@@wickedsamurai3323 I think there’s an interesting difference in “can vs should” for current Rampage - how often is it “correct” currently to take Rampage?
If it’s not very often, coming up with tweaks to the card seems fun! (Even if it’s just hypothetical / you’d have to mod it in yourself).
Headbut becomes worse with Rampage if it shuffles 🤔
That could be cool if you were allowed to choose if it should be reshuffled back into the deck..
If you choose to put back into the draw pile it stays at the current
“hit power” if you let it go into the discard then it gets +8
I will never forget a rant baalor went on about how it takes like 3 rampages to break from even vs the same number of strikes. I think the math gets even worse when we consider strike+.
i recall him making that argument with RAMPAGE vs TWIN STRIKE. Additionally, any strength modifiers are more beneficial with Twin Strike as well as any per hit modifiers
@@hamyncheesenope. It was strike to strike+
I laughed so hard when he asked if dual wield is a thing only to exchange it for relic seconds later
And then take it back later in the act lol
He also said dual wield is not a thing, only to grab it again later and make it a thing
Bro the rampage infinite was fueled by anger
first time seeing anger as part of an infinite combo, pretty cool!
Have you never come across Spinning top + Anger infinite combo? That's one of the OG infinite.
29:52 idk why that “boys?” Got me so much but I was dying. 😂😂
Nice to see a Rampage deck just works from get go and dominates all the acts, elites, bosses with no problem at all.
I had a prismatic shard defect run where my damage card was rampage... How that happened... I did post the end game on a Slay the Spire community Facebook page. Surprisingly enough it was rampage with caltrops and bronze scales. That was my damage to the heart Ascension 20. This game can do some weird stuff when you actually just say i wanna be wacky lmao
What, you think I'm going to keep watching now that the mastery challenge is done? Well, you're probably right!
you should do the daily challenge, I'd love to see your take on it.
Thinking of cards that aren't quite enough: what if Pressure Points returned from the discard pile any time you entered calm? (Specifically trying to tie the card into the rest of watcher's mechanics)
Fairly certain Bash+, Double Tap, Fiend Fire+ on Reptomancer was turn one lethal at 45:35 fir a total of 220 damage (10 + 15 * 7 * 2). Not like it mattered in the end
Baalor "I'm only playing for fun deck" runs are so much fun.
14:15 hey that's me!
The way you make these random decks work just amazes me
'You're right... it's not a thing'
I had to pause... was laughing too hard : )
Wow those act 1 boss relics look like the options offered to me usually
39:16 that Doubel Tap -> Fiend Fire was nasty af
Noway, you said never upgrade rampage before. Fun run I like it!
In theory Defect can make Rampage work since he has Seek and Rebound to fish it out and he can use frost orbs to stall while he cycles. I've seen people play Rampage in a 35 card deck on Ironclad, so it's not like it needs to be super trimmed as long as you can hold out. In practice, I doubt he'd have any use for it. If you have 3 Claws in your deck, you basically have a better version of rampage. it costs no energy and with 3 you don't have to worry that it's not scaling fast enough. With even a single copy of All for One and maybe a Beam cell and recycle,, three Claws can do much better. But we all know how Claw decks aren't really the best. I don't think it's that 3 Claws aren't doing as much as a single Rampage copy since I think 3 Claws would defiantly outperform it. I'm sure if you had an event that allowed you to change out 1 attack card for 3 claws, any Ironclad working well with a rampage could do better just by swapping. Rather I think Defect just has issues with stalling long enough if he's not spamming his evokes so even though triple claw should work better than rampage in isolation, Ironclad is better suited for absorbing damage. It's also why I think for Defect taking on Offering would not be advised for hallway fights, the energy and card draw is great, but doing it for HP isn't very synergistic. Evoking all your orbs and getting that on the other hand...
The stars aligned for this deck.
This run was dope. So many papercuts.
34:17 this might be the funniest joke I’ve heard
I don’t know what’s funnier, the letter opener joke or the idea of a rampage deck “working really well”😅
You mean the joke at 34:10? No point in linking to a time stamp where the joke has already passed.
I never saw a deck like this
34:10 underrated accidental joke
Any other card picked other than rampage would have died in the hexaghost fight
I never knew Rampage works like Claw. I always thought Rampage goes up only when you use that particular copy. Interesting.
That was pretty tight
I cant wait to Slay the Spire 2 to find new ways to ignore rampage
An angry rampage through the spire as Ironclad, all is as it should be.
Whats the plan after the mastery challenge?
Ironclad win streak
Nothing set in stone. I believe he'll be attempting win streaking again
Rampage is a card that gets better the more you play it. It improves with time. You could say... it ramps with age. Ramp age.
(Not my joke, but a clever one from the Slay the Spire subreddit, and it felt appropriate)
Baalor is so skilled he can even make rampage good.
This is the first Sundial infinite I think I've seen :D ggwp
YES! rampage run!
Yo editor, you absolutely need to put rampage in the thumbnail
Done
@@mad-zr8wy mah man!
Wait, editor in chat?
Next in the list of this joke card can actually be used soundly - , the more I think about it the more I think pressure point is underrated. The second time you play it it's like an attack, but under wrath. Third time, but in divinity etc. All of this with better control of damage diffusion and no need for extra card play, it just does the job by itself. Sure it leaves you out of the Rushdown draw and the Talk to the hand block but sanctity works like a charm with sanctity and Watcher has many other draw and energy options. Shuriken won't like it but Art of War will etc. The real downer are artefact charges but that too is manageable.
But the scaling doesn't work in multi enemy fights. It sucks against slavers, reptomancer, etc.
dual wield rampage is pretty good actually
I wonder if Rampage scales multiplicatively with lower base damage, like 5/10/20/40, with maybe 6/12/24/48 upgraded, would it be worse, more balanced, or broken?
Both of those would be broken
@@trucutru3not quite, it would be strong and a good act 1 take but not busted. The problem is it takes 4 deck cycles to make it really good so even as a neow transform it’s still 7-8 rounds out of being meaningfully stronger. Your looking at draw being your best choice and hoping you get one of 5 ironclad draw cards. It would be a good take but in a lot of decks it would drop in usage by the end of the run.
Would Ranwid have asked for Rampage instead if he skipped taking dual wield earlier? If so it was actually pretty good to take it 😂
0:10:25 is that true? I thought it only powers up the temporary copy of the card that's destroyed after being played
Indeed, that what I would expect. If what he says is true, it isn't a temporary card, but a temporary pointer to the original card.
At 23:38 you ask if Bag of Prep is too good to be a common relic. Isn’t Bag of Prep basically Silent’s starting relic? Are starting relics just common relics?
nice run
Truly, you can't spell rampage without ramp.
Wow!
Another run I never would have won
What would happen if you burn all of your cards? 🤔
Dear Baalor, gimme some sweat sweatshirts :P
First
A merch midroll doesn’t bother me as much because that actually makes a real money, but the midroll for other channel just bothers me. I just feel you can advertise in the intro or outro for that. The midroll for other videos just doesn’t make sense to me, and so it bothers me and I feel is annoying for some reason.
You keep saying the word 'proc' to mean activated and that is literally not what it means. Proc refers to a random occurrence activating. Kunai does not proc.
It is literally what it means. It comes from activation of "special procedures" in MUD games which are not necessarily random, e.g. a special effect that happens every time a weapon is used.
You may have heard a different defintion from WoW players but they're just wrong, the term long predates WoW.
