Great playing, but what I enjoy the most is the big smile in his face when he plays certain passages. Is obvious that he is having a great time, and I don't think there is a bigger reward than that : You love what you do and you are fantastic at it, AND as a bonus you get paid for doing it... ;-D

Playing the piano is awful because it hurts your arms like hell, but for some reason it's also surprisingly fun during a concert.
Its easy when you dont have a mouse trying to cut your fingers!

I love how he smiles when he plays. Finally a concert pianist that looks like he's enjoying himself while he's playing.
This is EXCELLENT! The right-hand technique in this piece is so uncanny it "cuts the hand in half," calling for the pianist to sound as though he, or she were playing with more than two hands! I suppose the original cadenza is the part near the end that made me crinkle my brow, and made me say, "OOOH, I've never heard that part before!"
That cadenza... my God, PERFECT. Beautiful, hard, pleasant, complex, emotional, the harmonic progression is fantastic!!
The first time List performed this in public must have stunned the audience.

I've never seen anyone play such technical difficulty with such ease. Greatest virtuoso I've ever heard. I wish Mr. Marzocchi had more for us to see and hear. Amazing.

Blown away. This rendition is astoundingly good to me & I would seriously kill for the score to that face-melting cadenza he does at the end. I think that intetpretation of this magnificent piece is one of the closest (really, really) to perfection!

I prefer Hamlin's performance to this one, still... His cadenza was good but his execution on some pieces of the song got a bit sloppy... Overall I give it an 7/10

Remarkable. I suppose it's because I've almost exclusively listened to the orchestral version of this that it felt like it was missing something, but it's truly amazing how far Liszt could push the limitations of the piano, and how well this performer... performed.
A great performace! More pianists should take up the challenge and put in their own cadenzas.

My favorite rendition with a Cadenza that tunes your soul. Will always come back to this one no matter how much you have to scroll down. The amount of soul he puts into playing the piece can be felt through the footage. The cheering at the end should be way louder he deserves it.
It's a pitty that the piano is not at his height.
