Palak paneer is not a vegan dish/food, it is a vegetarian dish/food, as Paneer is made from cow milk. Though this dish can be recreated into a vegan version by using tofu but then it will be called as Palak Tofu. Tofu and paneer are totally different just that it has a similar shape and colour but texture wise it depends how paneer is made.

After trying a lot of Korean food, I've realized Korean and Indian palettes are quite compatible. While Japanese and authentic Chinese food is super tasty, it doesn't always pack all the flavours (spicy, sweet, buttery, sour, tangy) that Indians love. But, Korean cuisine has a similar flavour profile.

    Awesome reviews, and great video.
One thing it kinda missed was that palak paneer is deep green colour, if you add curry to it the taste changes drastically.
In my area its recipe is lumsome like
    1- boil spinach a little
2- grind spinich in a mixer or food processor
3- add oil in a pan with some spices, then add spinach purre.
4-cook spinach for 10-15 min on medium-low heat with occasional stirring so it doesnot stick to base
5- add tomato puree lumsome 1/4 of spinach along with paneer pieces
6- add salt black pepper to taste and cook for 10 min.
That's it, try it in your free time.
I am not its the only authentic way to make palak paneer but i think this recepie gives the most to the point palak paneer taste.

The richness and diversity we have in India is literally unlimited. I'm glad that you have access to some of them. But I can confirm that even if I tried to roam around India and try all the food, I might not cover every Indian dish in my lifetime.
We don't think about it coz it's too overwhelming. We just eat what we can, where we can.
Also, restaurant food is miles away from home food. Both are good in their own ways. Restaurants are catered to singular flavor while we have a huge variety of dishes that are not possible for restaurants to make. Some dishes are culture specific, some are family specific. Ex: in our home, during festivals, we make unique sweet dishes to offer our god or ancestors which are a variation of what is commonly popular in our culture. So, even if you have tried it, you will still miss out on the variation we make in our place. You neither have access to it, or knowledge of it.
Similarly, a lot of Indian dishes are unknown to even the Indians, let alone non-indians. So, try any Indian food you never had, every time and judge it yourself. Because, Indian food's taste can't be guessed by their looks.

Should heat the Naan in microwave with a cup of water near it. It makes it soft. Otherwise it's chewy

Fijian Indian crab curry is the best dish on this planet!
I'd love to cook some home style dishes for the guys- the ones served look like Punjabi style restaurant dishes, which I love too but Indian cuisine in my experience really shines in the home.
Also Palak Paneer isn't "vegan" it's got cheese & ghee.
I'd love to cook the guys some goat curry. It's just sublime.

That is not vegan that is vegetarian. vegans do not eat cheese, and just because you’re vegan doesn’t mean you cannot gain weight or not be healthy.

Although vegan/vegetarian dishes may undoubtedly have their benifits, those benifits may be cancelled out depending on their preparation.
Some households/restaurants use excessive ghee (clarified butter) or excessive vegetable oil. You'd be surprised to see quite a few overweight pure vegetarians/vegans in India. Not to mention consumption of excessively sugary desserts.
What I'm trying to say is *properly planned* non-vegetarian/Pescetarian/vegan/vegetarian diets can all help with weight loss, and conversely, food cooked with excessive fats/oils or consuming excess sugar can also have a negative heath effect regardless of the diet of choice.

Tofu and paneer is similar to how its made and its similarity in taste and texture .. tge difference is tofu is vegan and paneer is dairy product

  • @Harry_2003
    @Harry_2003 ปีที่แล้ว

Also that food is not vegan because that cheese like thing you tasted is actually paneer in india which is made like tofu ...here milk is used while making " paneer ".... That's that dish name was palak paneer( spinach with cotton cheese)
