I grew up in a predominantly all white community and then one day new neighbours moved in across the street. I was maybe 9 years old and saw people for the first time I didn't know existed. He was tall, thin, wore a dark grey suit, had dark skin, and wore a dark blue turban. She was gorgeous in a red and gold dress, with gold jewelry everywhere and a red spot in the middle of her forehead. I remember thinking they could have been from a Star Trek episode. I remember that day as if it was yesterday even now going on 60 years later. I was fascinated with the Indian culture as a kid and this fascination has continued throughout my life. I bought a house within a large Indian community and traveled to and worked in India for approx 1-year. What an incredible lovable people. And yes, I learned to cook Indian style but at a 3-level.

The YELLOW dish you tried is called 'DAL TADKA'. It is a dish made from Yellow Lentils that are usually referred too or called the 'TOOR DAL OR ARHAR DAL'.
The GREEN DISH is called 'PALAK PANEER'. This dish is a combination of Green Spinach and Indian Cottage Cheese. A very mild and very subtly flavoured dish. Very smooth and easy going.

Watching from Tamilnadu. India. You can try South Indian dishes like Idly, vada, masala dosa, idiappam, parota with kurma, sambar and chutney. Unique taste. In each state, you can find their special dishes.
Bro, you have me on that... I am an Indian too... I have eaten most of the famous and common south food like idli and vada and i love that.... But once I tried Malabar Parotta with Chicken Chettinad... It was heavenly.. I fell in love with that dish right away ♥♥
