We shoot alot of specks in Alberta. This is great advice people. I have noticed that early season specks (before the snows arrive) are very hard to decoy. They will not commit and are frustrating at best. Then the snows arrive and the specks will dive into the decoys. Its like they have a transformation

Great speck calling. It was by far for me personally the hardest call to learn how to blow just because they sound so high pitch and so screachy that you immediately tell your self I will never make this call sound like a speck. For me it is all in the back pressure and learning how to truly cluck or break your reed over. I started with just learning how to do the string of clucks and went on from there. Bad ass video you just gave what took me 25 years to learn about specks. Great video I just subscribed. I live at the very bottom of the central fly way and we hunt the smartest birds on planet earth. We have been able to use spinners for years down here on Sprigs and big puddle ducks in general. Teal and divers will do it but we all try to kill our pintails every hunt we go on. You only get ☝️ but that one bull sprig all ways makes it worth it.
