Launch a Commission & form.committees drawn from teacher's colleges UWI etc to produce material of factual information that document the history of these regions/ parishes...for sale...at the historical sites in every parish.
Love the display...but need more locally made items eg. shopping bags, bamboo spoons, bamboo placemats, chimes ...with Jamaican sceneries;paintings by local artists of Jamaican scenes.
That’s so typical of some of our Jamaican politicians they don’t try to persevere their history which is a crying shame because these buildings could be a good source for attracting tourists and locals alike watching from uk
The influx of KF C is disturbing...need to see the promotion of local recipes...of Jamaican origin...we have a history of tasty & delicious cuisine.let's get on board!!! locally ow
Many of the buildings in the Washington, DC area downtown are about 200-300 years old. Thanks to the wife of one of the presidents, (I can't think of the name) these old buildings were renovated so that they look clean and well-kept. These buildings were mainly made of marble stones so they are pretty well preserved.
The government needs to move out the businesses, which are still being done in these old historical monuments. They need to then renovate the buildings so that visitors/tourists can walk through or around them and view the architecture. This will then help to preserve them.
I am not sure how businesses being away from these sites help to preserve them, but I can picture persons moving around undisturbed but what about disciplined vendors who allow the guests to view then shop?
I agree that the vendors need to sell their wares, however, the merchandise sold outside of a historical place takes away from the beauty of the place. The man was hanging clothing on the tree. He doesn't see how bad that looks? The town needs to make a marketplace for these vendors to push and sell their merchandise.
I heard that Royal Caribbean International will be building a shopping mall, if a noh soh, a near soh! I have been to a few historical sites in DC and we were able to purchase items, food etc but if we were to have a central point for visitors to shop in this town, the space is not even there. The town is very small.
The products hanging from a tree might look bad from the perspective of a first world country but otherwise does it really look bad, or a view to smile about? I suppose it depends on the beholder.🤔
I love it, interesting
