- Exploring Chicken, Alaska from June 22nd to 23rd, 2022. Riding the George Black ferry across the Yukon River from Dawson City to the Top of the World Highway. Hiking the Orchid Acres Trail. Driving the dirt Top of the World Highway to the Alaska border. Enjoying the alpine flowers near the customs border. Taking in the views from the Taylor Highway on our way to Chicken. Camping in Chicken Gold Camp RV Park with the Pedro Gold Dredge. Wandering around the quirky little area of Chicken, home of the annual Chickenstock Music Festival. Savoring meals from Downtown Chicken.

They were originally going to name the place Ptarmigan, but no one could spell it. My grandparents learned this when they visited many years ago.
