Brian wrote this song after one of his friends was going through a painful separation/divorce and Freddie just kills it with the emotion he puts into it.
I Believe it was Brian. Putting to lyrics what Brian the Musician & Brian the Husband. & his Relationship with the 3 other Group members. & what it takes to be in show business!!. Then out of this song came " I WANT IT ALL" the words Brian's new girlfriend & future wife. Had no problems going out on tour.
Brian has said recently that the song was about Freddie who was going through a difficult breakup at the time. He did not say while Freddie was alive out of respect for his privacy.
Every member of Queen plays several instruments, including guitar and piano. Also everyone of them is a songwriter who wrote worldwide hits, and (almost) everyone of them is an excellent singer. ^^
@@1ife3ternal Deacon is the best. He just was to humble and did not want to show up the rest of the guys. :D He is my favorite bassist. I can't think of anyone else who has as many iconic bass lines.
Everything in this performance is just perfection . Freddie’s voice is incredible in this . Roger can play piano too actually. I love his drumming in this song as he starts out playing softly and as he gets louder, he sounds so precise and clear. Brian and John are fantastic in this too of course .
I have watched and listened to Queen since 1973 . I know all their songs and they are all amazing. Freddie is an amazingly, awesome singer . The best and there will never be another one like him . Thank you for your reviews, they are wonderful.
i love how freddie keeps brian waiting at the intro and gives a wee smile to deac's! when i saw them at ingleston edinburgh in 82 brian was sat at the piano playing the intro to this and freddie came to the side of the piano holding his mic like a snooker cue and bent over the piano pretending he was going to knock a drink over brian! the pair of them smiled at each other like two naughty schoolboys, a beautiful moment between two close friends 👑✊🇬🇧
That has got be one of Freddies finest moments. Musically the amount of things those guys could do in between them eqauls about 14 musicians. So they crammed alot of ability into that small band, but the amount of talent on top of that is off the scale. Btw love your hair style!
Some of the best love songs ever written IMHO, are those written by Freddie & Brian. I tear up thinking of the very passionate musical relationship those 2 men had. I know they argued in the studio because they were both perfectionistic, musical geniuses with their own visions.... but what they created is a timeless gift to the universe. I really love watching young listeners discover Queen’s many talents and still today, reading the other comments here, they are still uniting people from a variety of backgrounds with their work. Sent by god! Especially now with a Cold Stone Crazy Trump, dividing people and destroying our planet with his dim witted, short-sighted views on the environment. Thank you, Queen, for helping me cope with this dire situation we are all in. 👑=❤️
This song brings me to tears, too. I've been there "naked and far from home". All 4 so talented. All could sing. All wrote hits. Cute to see you shocked with Brian on the piano. Those frames with Brian on the piano and Freddie back there pulling out all the emotion are extremely beautiful. What can I say? I love your reactions!
Nice reaction, like ever, Doe !!!. Very emotional and for that reason I recommend you "You take my breath away", ´cos it´s by far one of the most emotional songs ever, this song can bring tears or make smile ´cos its precious.
Brian was going through a divorce & his friends were being supportive. As for the unexpected talents, both Brian & Roger had been the leads in previous bands before Win & more recently.

Freddie was just straight up-and-down sexy... it's great to see the way women (and even men) stare at him... he was beautiful. Love how his clothes gradually come off during this concert, LOL. And yes, Brian is a man of many talents -- brilliant guitarist (he actually BUILT that guitar), songwriter, singer, pianist, and astrophysicist!
