they really just need to make them blank so you can marker whatever you want on them

I would even go so far as to say I would prefer a continuous roll with a tear strip like foil rolls so the labels could be as large as necessary. Perhaps they could have longitudinal lines.

I have some that are chalk paper, so you can just erase and reuse with absolutely no difficulty. It wouldn’t be helpful if it’s going to be bumped around and smudged a lot, but it’s pretty hard to smudge it unless you’re deliberately wiping to get it off.

they usually do...a lot of restaurants use similar labels...and they spray right off...the only thing id be concerned about if you had bad drain pipes that are notorious for backing up...they might gum up the pipes a bit if you have a lot of labels getting washed down the drain daily...

Very impressive, however, I find buying and using dry-erase markers from Dollar Tree ($1.25 for a set of three) works well. Just write on the container and wipe it off with a damp sponge. Those are great! And for once, the price difference here in Canada is not insane, they are $22.99 for 200. What I'd like to know is how long they would last for long term storage in the freezer. I have little trouble removing regular labels after a short time, but I have had problems with labels lifting off containers or vacuum sealed bags in the freezer after even a few weeks, much less a few months. Maybe you should put a few on some freezer items and include these in one of next year's yearly updates!

I was thinking about the water too, but it seems to me you could just use a little bit of water and/or a wet paper towel to remove it, instead of letting the water just run longer. You can't do that with a "regular" gummy label, so it's still a winner, if you only have to wipe it a little.

Labels like these have been available to the home canning community for many years. I use them exclusively for things I’m canning for my own consumption, as they are so much easier to remove than traditional canning labels. That said, storing jars with labels like these for long periods of time (over a year) can see some degradation, especially if they’re kept somewhere with some humidity. Ink can start to bleed a bit, and the labels can get a little bit rough. They still do the job just fine (I can still read them, and then still rinse off cleanly and easily), they may not be quite as pretty after a long period of time in a more humid environment.

I've been using dissolvable labels, this brand and Ball brand, for about a decade, for labelling home canned goods.
They work well but they have some minor drawbacks.
Still better overall than regular labels though.
After being on a jar for an extended time like with food stored in the pantry, the adhesive needs a little help along with a blue scotch Brite to dissolve.
If you just soak or throw in the dishwasher the paper will dissolve but some adhesive will still stick around.
And if they're on anything that collects condensation in the fridge (glass does this the worst) they stay on but sorta swell and sag slightly and the pen or marker ink can, not exactly run, but bloom. The effect is much greater than with a normal paper label. Though it still stays readable enough given you don't write real tiny.
They are easier to accidentally tear with your hands when damp with extended fridge condensation: think jams & jellies.
But their use for me is to ID what they are at a glance after months in the pantry, without having to look at every single lid. When they're in the fridge being actively used up everyone tends to already know what they are at that point.

This is cool, but actually I think I would rather have a NONdissolvable easy wipe label. Just a big white label that you can wipe off. If I am labeling a container, I probably always like having the label available. Outside of like loaning food to someone, even then it would be ok to label!
Obviously then they can't sell as many maybe.

    Feels expensive and wasteful tbh.
I bought these way cheaper (like 2 bucks for 24 pieces?) labels that are supposed to stay on there, but you can rinse and wipe them off to remove the ink of the pen that comes with it.
You can basically re-use the labels over and over again.
Although I must admit you can somewhat smudge them if you handle them often with wet or sweaty hands, it's really not too big of a deal to write something on them again after a while.
Should be noted I mostly use them to put my spices and herbs in tiny little sealed pots and mark them with it.

My question is is there's got to be some chemicals or substance that's going down the drain is it going to in the long run gum up your plumbing second is it eco friendly. Forgot to save this poor or that we have ruined. I just finished watching a video before this one about a place in Africa where they take all the flip-flops they can get from the beach everything and they scrub them and they clean them and then they glue them together and turn them into statues like they might make a 8-foot giraffe to put on display and it's a multicolored giraffe because of the different colored flip-flops but their recycling it and it was very interesting. So that's why I'm asking how Echo friendly is it. Can't wait for the next video.

The question is, what exactly is being dissolved here? And do we now have micro-plastics in the water?

Ok. I write directly on my mason jar lids with a sharpie. When I'm done, I run them through the dishwasher and the ink is gone. Same thing for my deli containers. No need for labels of any kind.

James, I live in the humid east, so I wonder how these labels perform on a container that is subject to condensation.
You might try putting ice water into a pyrex measuring cup and placing it in a steamy bathroom too see if condensation affects the label. Put me down as not willing to spend the money if they don't work in my situation.
Most of us don't live in a dry climate!

We use them at work. The only problem is if you do get them wet, the writing will blur and the stickers sometimes peel off by accident.

Restauranteur tip You can get these a lot cheaper in bulk for food retailers and resteraunts. The more expensive ones can be printed out from an app you can connect to with a phone or tablet. You can save pre labeled templates and create automatic values for when it was prepared and a set time to discard if you wanted. Otherwise eject a blank and use a sharpie for the same affect. Those ones you just put in the bottom of a sink with hot water for added water pressure and they disenegrate in seconds with a quick and optional swipe of the thumb. Not to mention larger, heat activated ink, and easier to read. If you wanted you could just order the square blanks on a large roll and use the roll and sharpie method instead of processing it through what looks like gloried receipt printer to save even more money. I even leave half the backing from the sticker on so the can just peel off for even less work and they stick just fine

We used something similar where I worked. The dishes usually soaked for a bit. I would pull them out and run a cloth over the label and it would vanish.

The best label for everywhere in the kitchen are simply a strip of blue painters tape. It stays put until you pull it off. It comes off easy with no residue. I mark with a sharpie.

Woah that's really neat , can you imagine how much you could screw with people that have never seen something like those you could fool someone into thinking that you're doing magic the person wouldn't know what to think or say.

Very interesting product but I am wandering what do they are made off because the washed down product can contaminate the water like the detergent little spheres. Just curious
