    Don't know if you did anything with the chain yet but look at what they call "half links". I just converted my grandsons minibike and I needed to lengthen the chain by 1/2 link. They work great. Nice series BTW. You get it done without a lot of wasted air time.

  • @catfisher420

    Raise the engine with spacers too tighten the chain. OR just take a link out of the chain!

    • @farmboysteve3295
      @farmboysteve3295 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      catfisher420 can’t put spacers beneath because of the engine adjustment bolt and he can’t take a link out because it’s an awkward between the links spot

    When I was a kid, I bought a used minibike...and it had a torque converter on it.That little 5 horse went 40 mph ! and it would constantly adjust to the terrain...I had a blast.

    Bought this for my small back deck in the Eastern Sierra. th-cam.com/users/postUgkxoHYZbq5g9fkcAtinlTqstNlje-UQkCHN We get A LOT of HEAVY snow so I was a bit skeptical but it was worth it! After the first storm of the year this has exceeded expectations! It throws snow very well, even 10-12” + that said the more it piles up the harder it is to maneuver the machine. It is exceptionally light weight and overall exactly what I was looking for. If you have a large amount of snow and a lot of area to clear, you may consider something with a drive engine to help maneuverability, but for decks, second stories, roofs etc, you can’t beat the light weight to great snow throwing ratio. Side note, the chute rotator is a bit flimsy and it initially didn’t seem to work, after a few uses it seems to have loosened up.

    Have you tried buying a half link? I had the same problem with the go kart frame I bought, the location of the engine mount and sprocket made it impossible to get rid of the slack by cutting the chain, so I made a half link by hammering a spare link; but I would recommend buying a half link at a store, any hardware store should have them, I even saw one at my local Menards...

    can you shim up the motor?
    I noticed your mounting system was pretty cool, but couldn't tell if there is a way for you to add shim to raise the motor. thanks Rich

      Was my thought as soon as he mentioned the clearance issues on the bolts of the sprocket haven't finished the video but that chain is real loose. I was thinking why not space the engine a little higher. I didn't watch the next video yet but they should be twice the power and twice the speed basically.

    Install another small sprocket below the chain to take up the slack. You can even get fancy and spring load the tensioner sprocket to keep the chain tight but also give you the ability to more easily re-seat the chain in the event it jumps off or breaks

    i had a go kart when i was a kid, with such a bad clutch that it wouldn't engage unless you sprayed wd40 in it.. and it would only move for a little before the wd40 would burn up, so i would drive around the parking lot one handed spraying my clutch and driving at the same time haha

  • @danielteegarden8982

    get a 1/2 link for the chain. if that is a new chain, you will be able most likely have a enough stretch in the new chain to remove a whole link. good luck. i myself would get a 1/2 link and use a chain stretcher to make putting the con link easily. dan t. palm springs, ca.

    Here’s what you do. Add a welded plate that extends via four routed 2” slide holes next plate also four slide holes only oriented 90 degrees to your first sliders four more holes to mount your motor. Now you have a universal slide plate. Remember, if you can’t get it perfect, make it adjustable.
