@@jaethemanchild Definitely had the best graphics, along with the Atari ST. I always wanted an Amiga, but they cost around £1,000. I couldn't get a C64 either in the mid-1980s because of its rather expensive cassette deck. Saying that, I was quite happy owning a ZX Spectrum, which most of my friends owned too. I remember always being asked to lend games out and I borrowed quite a few myself. My dad's work colleague's son who owned a BBC Micro told me he could make its games run on the ZX Spectrum, but I never actually witnessed it. He offered to convert some of its games for me back in 1985. Have you ever heard of that?
There's also a sort-of Hagar game called Spike/Spikey in Transylvania, which used Hagar's design for the main character. (Don't know how they got away with that, the title screen is clearly just Hagar, just named "Spikey" (Spike on the actual game box))
I remember the comic strip, although I didn't read The Sun, and I remember the Skol ads. Didn't realise the cartoon existed. I probably would have bought this if it was available on the Spectrum or Atari
Really enjoyed listen to you talk about this, Love the look of the graphics But it sounds a shame that it's so generic, I've added this to my bucket list of games I need to give a go Though Outside I did Like to read the comic strip as a kid
To be fair, Obelix probably died centuries before Hagar was born. :P And he could kick pretty much anyone's backside due to falling into the magic potion when he was a baby while Hagar doesn't seem to have any similar advantages.
@@jaethemanchild I don't know much about Dragon Ball so I can't comment on him but Obelix vs. Superman could be interesting; technically the potion is meant to make users invincible so this raises questions about whether things like heat vision would actually harm Obelix.
@@tempestfennac9687 What was that TH-cam series where they pitted to characters against each other? Epic showdown or something? We should write to them
I think I remember it. I more than likely saw a demo of it at the PC Show. There was always a lot of Amiga stuff being showcased.
More than likely, the Amiga was the far better & popular games machine back then!

I think I’ve played that! Was it on the 8 Bits? Possibly a budget game?
I'm going to have to add the ROM to my A500 minj, because it's Hagar!
George and Lynne! Now there's a memory just unlocked!😮
Never stopped shagging that pair.
I remember reading hagger and George and Lynne on my paper round
@@chrisperry132 my favourite Sun strip was Striker! I think they signed Gazza at one stage (in the comic).
@chrisperry132 Jae will be disappointed if you don't add that you also spent at least a minute or two on Page 3 😉

Voiced by Peter Cullen none the less
@@jaethemanchild it's surprising the number of characters that he and Frank Welker have voiced
Used to love the comic strip.
SKOL SKOL SKOL SKOL 😂.
unfortunately the game was more hagar the mediocre 😕 .
SKOL SKOL SKOL SKOL!
Hagar the Mediocre then. Still, it's got to be more enjoyable than a case of Skol. Now that's Gnat's piss right there.
I don’t remember ever having tried Skol. Is it still a thing?!
@jaethemanchild I do believe it can still be bought. Probably in 4 packs in home bargains. It's the foul love child of Carling.
Bit disappointed there wasn't a port for the Sega Gen... um, I mean Mega Drive.
I like the “European pivot”! 😀

It’s entertaining enough for an hour or so. No harm in trying it out!
Obelix could take Hagar anyday
