No referee should be threatened whilst officiating. I’m a victim of a referee lying about a heat exchange which subsequently resulted in a 5 year ban. This is what’s wrong with grass roots football all with referees feeling undervalued
Best of luck to my colleagues in the UK, the numbers presented in this story are awful. I completely support life time bans as proposed here. Without referees, there's no game.
They all get lots of respect, something football refs are miles from unfortunately. And for the levels of abuse they get, I’d hardly call in “whinging”
If it's this bad at a grassroots level, I can only imagine the abuse referees face when they judge high profile games with thousands of people in the audience and drunk hooligans
Literally running assistant in a game and the fans so close to you this girl tried to pull down my pants she lucky she didn't have a size almost lost it but had to remember where I was
This is why VAR was introduced, it seems like it's not doing the job either, maybe they should be investigated on fraud first cz the decisions made on VAR itself has been very questionable.
It's modern day era that's the problem. All of its nonsense in person and social media has been inflating peoples egos to the point where they can do this in real life and get away with it Also, That guy has EA Sports on his jacket..... No wonder he's being abused... (if you know, you know)
@@andrewharrington6953 then why are they called by IFAB the LAWS Of the game? As if you look up LOTG or talk to any refs about them, then that’s all they say, not “rules of the game”. As the only “rules” to football are the league specific ones, but that’s why they’re nit made by IFAB
Any relevance in that remark? And, secondly, what if someone - let's say the government - "forges" your consent. I know, you're gonna protest - after you're dead. Very silly and totally irrelevant comment, in fact.
@@Maelli535 what if someone forges and take away your home and all your money? Don't make silly exceptions I don't do this for any kinda selfish reasons like y'all do
what's next? oh, they are staring a gofundme for parking inspectors who feel bad about themselves? without inspectors, this is no parking. it is anarchy without movie tickets and ice cream for the inspectors. oh please.
Clearly someone never seen the levels of abuse the refs get, so it’s all well and good you acting all big and bold, but i’d like to see you do some of the games they do, with the levels of abuse they can involve.
So you think it's perfectly acceptable to hurl abuse at people on a football pitch? If in any other walk of like one-in-three people had been physically abused it'd be frontpage news!
So what, you can just abuse the people that do a job then? And what if they’re a younger kid that has to rely on it for some money for them, because they’re too young to higher anywhere else and it’s the only local one available to them? And that’s not forgetting the fact that someone has to do it, otherwise there wouldn’t be any football? So for all the stick and abuse some get, to allow Sunday league players like yourself a bit of “me time”, yeah I do think they’re more in for a knighthood than many others like yourself 🙄🤦🏻♂️
Thanks again to the BBC for dealing with this matter and trying to raise the awareness for referee abuse 👍
Complete ban or youre approving the behavior.
Team consultation before the game. Your out if you are verbally or physically abusive to the ref.

If you think its bad now you should of seen it 20years + ago.
You should have paid attention to the rules of grammar.
"How do we solve this abuse?" We've heard them whinging for decades now... meanwhile, over the road at the rugby club...

till yesterday bbc was counting revenue earned from football's world cup
Tell me where the BBC got revenue from? No adverts, no private funding, they have to pay for the coverage.....

Get other job. And see.
I don think there’s many other jobs out there whatsoever that get as much stick as footballing refs do
Wonder why they chose this particular ethnicity for the aggressive player in the "Enough is enough" campaign .....
Would help if some weren't bias too one team or actually know the rules
Bit asinine, considering very few players know the rules.
Well you clearly don’t seeing how they’re Laws, not rules 😂
