That is fantastic, would have been very helpful in 2021 when my furnace died. I used several UCO candle lanterns and a pair of homemade terracotta candle heaters. Luckily it was only the furnace, so almost everything we ate was baked.
Thank you for sharing your experience! I am thinking about combining it with Thermos Cooking in a wide opening Thermos jar and it would provide a small emergency kitchen. Add hot coffee and some heating and looks quite versatile. 🙂
This item looks to be perfect for my needs. I have been looking for a cook top that's safe to use inside (proper ventilation of course) my Chevy Express Conversion Van for Weekenders. The size and heat output seems just right for use with STANLEY ADVENTURE cook sets. Soups, etc., nothing too fancy. Heating water for Pour-Over coffee, cocoa or tea. Yep, very excited about your review and that you like the amount of heat it puts out. Thanks 😊.
I just bought one of these recently, but have not used it yet. The lady i talked to on the phone uses one regularly and she said she uses 2 small pans with 1 cup of water in each one. By doing so she said it heats the water much quicker that way.
would definately be able to handle all homemade jellied fuels too, just maybe keep a couple sterno cans, make your own jellied for refill or just refill with methanol jelly, or straight in an alcohol stove, or penny stove.... or whatever ya got. nice little idea, for sure with the built in fan
I suppose so, but to be honest the chafing fuel is so cheap I wouldn't bother. You can get 12 cans on Amazon for less than $25 and each one burns for 4-6 hours.
I just ordered one along with the Inferno bio-mass heater. I want to test out this heater in my Ford Transit 350 HD long body high top class B camper van to pre-warm the interior for travel. I have a 600 ah Lithionics lithium battery kit that I use all weekend visiting family in Ohio. I need to see if this will warm up the battery enough in freezing temps so I feel good about charging. I do think it will work well in that small space. I use Starbucks VIA instant coffee packs exclusively to eliminate all the hassle with a pot, filter, cleanup. It's so easy...
Very curious in buying one of these. I’ve been looking into wood stove tents, but stumbled upon this. How do you think it would function in a tent? How hot does the outer portion get? Thank you for your very clear and informative video btw.
That’s an awesome piece of kit and a great purchase, I’m below ya in Va and it’s been some pretty cold temp. Thanks for sharing, have a great week ahead. ✌️ Ps my bf usually refills the 1# bottle with using the 20# bottle…fairly easy and very effective and efficient.
It prevented frozen pipes so I think it’s already paid for itself. Thanks for the info about refilling the propane bottles. I’ll definitely look into that.
@@Good-DaySunshineThe sterno cans burn for about 3 hours. You should be fine setting it up on the stove. It’s great for emergencies because you can heat and cook on it if the power goes out.
When you open the fuel cans. Push the wicks up straight, and fluff them up!! It will burn a lot hotter.
If you pull up the wicks in the fuel canisters a little bit more, the flames will be bigger and will boil the water faster.
very impressive! and those heaters are safe indoors...otherwise caterers would be mass murderers!
Haha, so true!
Hahaha😅😅😅 ❤❤

Glad you had something on hand to get through it! It’s a nice piece of kit.
@@weekendwanderer5514 it took several years
Thanks for the honest review. This will definitely be put on my wish list.
It’s a little expensive but definitely worth it.
@@weekendwanderer5514 $129 ??? I saw.
Looks like a nice little purchase!
I haven't regretted buying it.
Great demo thanks! I just bought one of these and I am looking forward to using it.
got a old cooler box, which i do not use any more, going to take the bits out of it to make one of these
Love DIY projects!

That’s a perfect use case scenario for this stove/heater. Hope you enjoy it!
good bit of kit, with built in fan,
Wow you have a very fancy watch.
Great review, bought one yesterday ...
Nice 👍

Kept my pipes from freezing, so definitely worth it for me!
Pretty neat !
In a pinch could you make your own fuel cells ? 👍👍👍👍👍

Not so sure about using this in a tent. It gets pretty hot. It’s much better for something like car camping.
Get 2.

@@weekendwanderer5514 good to know and thanks again
How long does the 3 cannister last. I mean do I have to wake up in the middle of the night to refill to replace the cannister?
That's a great looking piece of kit, what sort of temperature are you looking at?
Three cans kept my 1-car garage heated to about 50 degrees Fahrenheit (10C) when it was way below freezing outside.
@@weekendwanderer5514 so pretty decent heat output.👍
@@weekendwanderer5514 I was considering a $2K diesel Planar heater for my van. I might change my mind...for as much as I need it.
@@weekendwanderer5514 How long did it last? Would it be safe to set this on top my home stove in a stainless pan if the elec goes out in winter?
@@Good-DaySunshineThe sterno cans burn for about 3 hours. You should be fine setting it up on the stove. It’s great for emergencies because you can heat and cook on it if the power goes out.
NOTE: The lids on the canned heat is on very, very tight. I’ve taped on of those openers to the side of the stove to always have it available.
That's a very good idea! Some of those cans require way to much force to open, even with a tool.
How much it costs to rum 24 hours how much is each can of fuel
It depends on how many cans you use at once. You can buy a 12 pack on Amazon for about 23 dollars and each can will burn for about 4 hours.
Can you ‘turn one off’ and turn it back on later if it’s needed?
Yes. Just screw the cap back on the can so it doesn’t dry out and you can use it as often as you like until the can in empty.
That is awesome, thank you for the quick reply. I Will be ordering one. Looking forward to camping and having a backup for the room here in Alaska
Hello, I hope your family and you are doing well after the rains. Let us know when you can..
We are fortunate my friend. Just a wet garage floor for us. Five miles to the north, however, and it’s a disaster. Thank you for your concern!
@@weekendwanderer5514 More rain will come. Keep prepping.👍🏻
So funny how all of these reviews avoid the word "sterno" so hard.
Sterno is a brand name. Any type of jelled fuel will work in this heater.
The key, that you know you’re gonna lose was a stupid idea. Just have something attached to grab onto.

I think that is permitted, like two books having the same title. As long as he’s not stealing my videos, it’s all good. Thanks for keeping an eye out!
