Still driving my 1990 Toyota Hilux 4x4 with 400,000 miles.
I hope that the Stout would come out sooner rather than later. I would buy one in a heartbeat.

If the new Stout is available in an extra cab AWD or 4WD , Hybrid with a 6’ bed we’ll sell our 11 Ford Ranger, XLT, 4WD super cab with a 4.0L V6 with currently only 36K miles.
It’s mainly used for work around our property, but even though it get 23mpg on the highway with the cruise set on 75mph, we’d like to get a small pickup that gets better mileage.
Before adding a K&N intake and a 3” FlowMaster exhaust, we were getting only 19mpg on the highway.
It’s a 1 of a kind pickup with custom 2 toned paint (Silver over Red metallic), custom upholstery (Red with black trim and stitching), custom pinstripes, custom wheels, running boards, window vents, rear air shocks (we haul heavy loads), tow pkg, dashboard cover, tonneau cover.
Last summer I had 2 different guys wanting to buy our Ranger. One offered $25K and the other offered $28K.
I change the oil every 6 months (1,500 miles) and when it hit 30K miles I had the front and rear differential, transfer case and transmission fluid changed. I also had the antifreeze changed.
The truck rides on Cooper Discoverer A/T tires.
I’d buy a Stout in either Red or White and have it 2 toned in a Tan metallic and pinstriped to match.
A tonneau cover would be added along with a FlowMaster, or other exhaust system so the truck can breathe easier and a K&N cold air intake.
This segment of the market is getting interesting. The Maverick has bland styling but great MPG figures (and that LOW entry price), the Santa Cruz is a truck I hardly ever see although I kinda like it's sleek styling, the Stout will be a game changer it it can compete with the Mav in terms of price and fuel efficiency. And Toyota's legendary reliabilit😢y will be included at no extra charge !!
Honda is rumored to be preparing a hybrid Ridgeline but it won't be anywhere near the Mav's entry price. A baby Ram is coming as well. I have to wonder why GM just doesn't offer their Colorado and Canyon midsize trucks with a hybrid powertrain. Supposedlythey are working on a small truck called the Montana.
And I am still waiting and waiting like 1000s of other folks.

Many of us are holding off buying a truck until Toyota either confirms or denies the Stout.

Move on man, this is all hype and fake news. I've been digging for years. Toyota has NO plans on making this truck... Official sources have stated that it's not even in conception. They have no plans on making this.

The whole video seems to be total conjecture, just wishful thinking. I think the only possible fact might be Toyota reportedly copyrighted the "Stout" name somewhere outside of the USA. Beyond this, I don't believe a single word has been spoken by a knowledgeable Toyota insider confirming anything about a small truck coming for the USA market. Sure! I hope it happens, too, would prefer a small Toyota truck over most other manufacturers.
Blah, blah, blah....all talk but no proof yet. If this PU is all he was talking about, it will not be in the $23000 range. And, do not forget, you may have to fork out that dealer markup of thousands of dollars, like Maverick or Santa Cruz. I do not think that by adding one more competition this year, will change the landscape of the supply and demand curve...
The stout is made for third world countries with none of the safety equipment needed for sale in the us market.
