You can actually pair the gen 2 via Bluetooth to your computer, while you are connected to your Xbox and then plug in a separate mic to your pc and you can both talk and listen on both devices in sync took me a while to figure out, but it works really well. And I agree I think bluetooth connectivity is something that wireless headsets should be introducing as a base feature.
Hi Squirt, I have been trying to find a headset that would work on both an xbox and pc at the same time. What did you do plug the dongle into the xbox and then use the bt on your pc to connect both at the same time? On the pc I don't need a mic just the headphone /or sound but on xbox i need both sound and mic will that work for me?

hey just got this headset for my PC(PS5 version) Does your master volume on your phone app reach all the way up?? all my settings on my PC are up to 100 and still sounds like its 70% up. also on my audio hub app the green bar is not all the way up but I cant adjust it. any help would be appreciated.
Definitely a great purchase in my opinion. I was used to playing fort on ps4 w/ my a10s for years and I wanted to go wireless. Saw these and they for sure change the way I play games with friends. Bluetooth connect to my phone and be on with friends is awesome. Listening to my music or TH-cam while the games load. I can play clash of clans and I can hear it through the mic and not bother anyone else. I can honestly say I’ve hopped on the switch with my iPhone ps4 app used for party chat and gotten ez wins in fort. They sound great. Really simple software updates. If your thinking about these, wait for your birthday or Christmas lol.
I just ordered the Gen 2 max but I got it for 155 on sale. I used the gen 2 700 that my girl has and was told I was much louder and clearer on it and it also sounds good but I bought the max mainly down to the battery
does this headset have the same issue in party chats volume? i mean the one when you raise party chat volume it gets lower party chat volumen automatically.
The clamping force on the og 700s was unreal. I honestly got headaches after a few hours. Bummer they didn't change it
I trying to find a headset where i can chat on xbox and at the same time be able to listen to my game on pc (so i don't need a mic on pc ) if I were to use the dongle on the Xbox and just use the Bluetooth on the pc would that work?
To me, if this is "licensed by Microsoft" for the Xbox, it should be able to pair up with your Xbox without the dongle. That's just me though.

Can't speak for the ps5, but dolby atmos and DTS-X works.

ive had nothing but trouble with these, when they do work, the mic quality in party chat sounds like a tin can. tons of glitches and software issues with the only temp fix being shutting them off then back on 3-5 times till they function properly. mine are a week old and are getting sent back
Do you update them on tha Turtle Beach Site ? That cleared all my bugs up
Be aware sounds great but lacks the spacial effect. it’s there but very narrow not a big soundstage and it’s very noticeable everything’s tight hard to pinpoint the location of noises and can only hear footsteps that are very near not too far away. My pair cuts and chops pretty often too not sure why maybe my connection or my wifi router but it’s there for sure and can get annoying. Other then that sounds great and pretty loud when working correctly!
I feel like the max ain’t better than the regular gen 2s , I feel like I actually actually sound whore on the other turtle beaches more than this Version , sound doesn’t Sound as good

Very strong clamping force and 700 Gen 2 with seemingly identical design already broke at the joints after a year for me after lots of gaming on a large head. Hurts on ears after hours. Not good for large ears. 700 and 700 gen 2 had terrible problems using Bluetooth with iphones. Robotic sound/mic with calls after a while. Great bass though.
Arctic is way more comfortable, 700 Gen 2 (Max) has much better bass and battery life

It doesn't feel too tight if you've got a small head. Otherwise they'll give you a headache. Returning mine because of this and bluetooth range and connectivity issues. Sound glitches when I move around my small room. It's idiocracy for $150
Same issues here. They don't connect on bluetooth and seem to be made for cabbage-sized heads or smaller.
What's next stealth 700 gen 2 ultra
I ordered the stealth 600 gen 2 max in black and sold the previous normal 600 gen 2 for it, accept of battery life i was wondering is the sound Quality also improved over the first gen 2? Or is it just the battery life and multiplatform support that's improved..?
Dunno bout the 600's but, the 700's got worse from 1st to 2nd gen. From sound quality to durability it's not good . Although, the sound is almost as good as 1st gen it's noticeably different. I guess the price change matches the quality. They used to be £250 for the stealth 700 1st gen.
On my S700G2 the power plug was horrible, it would charge sometimes and sometimes it would not. I wonder if they got around fixing that issue. If this headset breaks again, I will never buy a turtle beach product in my life again. I've gone through roughly 11 headsets in the past 15 years. I've got apple headphones that have lasted 8 years. Unacceptable.

Hi, do you need to use the dongle to connect to Xbox? or can you connect to Xbox without it, the same way you would pair the stealth 600 and 700 gen 2s?
that’s what i’m trying to figure out too. i can’t sync it to my xbox unless i use the dongle which i didn’t have to use on my first gen 700
@@PRExBAE No you would need the usb dongle. They did this so you can pair it to any device easily without having to resync everything each time you swapped.
I wish they would have kept the 700 Gen 2 for those of us that don’t need the dongle. I only want to connect it to my XBOX and that’s it. I’ve heard the MAX version has connection issues. Anyone else hearing that? I can’t seem to find a non MAX version of the 700 Gen 2’s.

Arctis 7x/9X does ONLY work on xbox
I just bought the 700 gen 2 max for $150 about a month ago. It works great. However the 600 gen 2 max sounds better. Clearer highs and deeper more hard hitting bass mode vs mode. The only reason I use the 700's is the Bluetooth feature.
I just put my 3.7 900mah battery that was in my old Stealth 600 Gen 1 headset from 2018... Into my Stealth 700 Gen 2 Headset from 2020...
Tha Stealth 700 Gen 2 battery was a tiny little 3.7 500mah and got overheated and ruined when i left them in my car on a hot day a few months ago.... That 900mah is giving 30-40 hours easily right now. And that headset has room for an even bigger battery tbh...
Im Probably going to upgrade to a
3.7 1200mah. Totally cheaper to just upgrade your older headset instead of paying for a whole new headset when 9 times out of 10 u just need a new 15 dollar battery 😂
What about when the stress points inevitably snap? Any ideas to repair or replace from that point? (Currently sitting with two dangling ear cups on my 700 Gen 2)
You get what you pay for. Does it sound good with Dolby Atmos?
Is the audio any different than the original Gen2?
the only difference is a bigger battery and the addition of a dongle, that's all.

While this looks great, I’m still using the Recon 500 & I still love it especially when paired w/ the SCUF Instinct Pro
I have the recon 500 and they are good for footsteps but that’s it…everything else sounds bad too loud and u don’t get much detail on those
Gorgeous colour headset not sure quality is better than steelseries 9x but that dongle is a put off for me.
So far the audio quality is BETTER. I’ve had ZERO connection issues so far. They are not as comfortable as the 9x however.

More than certain the turtle beach sounds better. Especially when you tune the EQ, the stock xbox wireless eq muffled a lot and is way to bass heavy. If you get the chance, Tey the 700.. I use the gen 2 since it came out over a year ago and love it🔥

@@MortyMore I won't be able to voice my opinion on how they they compare as I've never owned the Xbox Wireless Headset. My current headset is a Turtle Beach Stealth 600 G2 (plastic headband snapped in two) though I occasionally use my wife's SteelSeries Arctis 7X. The 7X is definitely the most comfortable headset I've ever used but the sound is lacking in bass.

This if you are an all platform gamer. If you are mainly PC the the 9s are better.
@@joshuathefirst Ended up getting the Arctis 9 and returned them from an hour of use. I mainly chose these two headsets for the features they offer, like the chatmix and dual connectivity. None of those worked with the Arctis 9 so i returned them and went with a cheaper option (Hyperx Cloud Flight)
The sound is really good on this headset and is one of the best sounding that you can buy
JUST DONT BUY THEM!!!
I guarantee that bits of plastic will start breaking off within a month or two. I've owned both the first and 2nd gen stealth 700's. the 1st gen lasted about 3 years with just a new upgraded battery change. But the 2nd gen lasted maybe a year, maybe, I forget exactly how but it seemed like in the 6 to 8 months area. But basically, one of the earpieces will just fall off. The plastic looks strong but it's hollow and stresses and cracks before failing completely and the earpiece falls off and good luck getting spare parts.
I won't ever buy another turtle beach headset.
Thats crazy. Cause ive owned my 700 Gen 2s for about a year and half easily if not longer... And use them literally 10 hours a day if not longer and havent had anything break. They are definitely built cheap af though.
i had the same problem with the pads, they started to tear after a a year but it didn’t bother me it still felt that same. 99

Yeah I had the Stealth 700 Gen 2, and they lasted me 3 years. The first bit of damage was the right ear cup swivel point broke and it swiveled 360 degrees. Then a few months ago the whole thing snapped off.
I managed to super glue it and fixed it but then it broke internally at the swivel and it was just hanging by a wire.
Such a shame, this headset sounds amazing and the features are amazing too, but the build quality is simply unacceptable.
I want to know if this can connect to the Xbox without the dongle.

@@InternetRez I thought maybe cuz it’s an Xbox version it would pair normally and dongle to the non supported consoles, I’ve done enough research on it now that I have it set up pretty good, I’d give it a 8/10, only ever used turtle beach though. Can’t speak on how good other headsets are or aren’t. I think this one is fine, my stealth 600s rechargeable battery took a shit this is why I’m here 🫡
@@evanelliott7787 Most Gaming headsets for console use some type of receiver reguardless. Plus the original 700 Gen 2 for Xbox actually did pair without one but had lots of connection issues. This supposedly fixes that.

@@InternetRez I think they are pretty solid man I don’t have many complaints used them for a week now, yeah my stealth 600s paired to the Xbox. That’s why I thought they all worked that way originally, I don’t approve of having to update it via computer or Mac. I wish the app would support the update via Bluetooth, seems to be everyone’s complaint though

If you had $200 to spend on a wireless headset and wanted the best combination of audio quality (directional aiming, good soundstage, etc), battery life, and comfort, what would you pick?
If it's just for Xbox then... I would get Astro a50's if you want wireless because they use xbox's own wireless connection because its superior to dongles. Or for even better sound splurge on the astro a40's with the little mix amp thing, they are wired but far superior sound and non existant latency. For a cheaper mid range set then the Corsair hs75 xb headset are good or the razor kaira pro although I never tried them as I went with the corsairs.
If your on pc then I don't care, work it out yourself.
This doesnt make any sense why would I spend 129 dollars on these when the Stealth 600 Gen 2s dont require a Dongle and these do for the Xbox to me thats more of a pain in the ass removing it everytime I switch consoles id rather but the 600 Stealth and use two separate ones then removing the dongle and etc
The plastic is garbage at that ear cup joint...
A quick Google search shows a ton of people reporting it cracks and breaks there
My 2nd set of these just broke at that same spot yesterday
The secondary volume wheel also quit working
Turtle Beach used to be the best, but the last several years they have putting out cheap plastic garbage with virtually no actual sound customization
The audio on the 700xv2 is mediocre at best
The spatial audio is absolute garbage as there's no blending of the sound
If you are turning from left to right the sound just picks up and then stops on the one ear then starts up on the other ear
Turtle Beach used to give us a massive equilizer to fine tune the sound, but every friggin headset now has the same worthless presets
They give you ONE custom preset but your only choices are a tiny adjustment to bass and treble
Turtle Beach used to be the best, but sadly not anymore

@@Medsas yea they cheaper for a reason, the 700 are way more versatile then the 600, if you are person who just play online video games and who doesn’t really talk on the phone or listen to music then the 600 are perfect for you but if you are someone who travel for living listen to music a lot and use every platform then the 700 are perfect for you, because of my job I travel a lot, and I drive even more and I use multiple platforms and because of my job Bluetooth is must so the 700 are perfect for me
This head set SUCKS, first I purchase it CLEAN box, no Bluetooth receiver
I use the shit 3.5 jack and get nothing but background static. Even WITH using the 3.5 that statis and noise should not be there.
This was a $160 dollar purchase and I have the same quality as a $1 store headset
On top of that even though it SAYS that it is PC compatable, its own site says
