Between you and Simon Stanhope I am never without good company. Even when some of your stories overlap you each bring something of your own to these wonderful stories. Each one is worth more than one listen. Thank you!
Thanks again Greg! GK Chesterton's brain certainly worked very differently from Conan Doyle's, and I'm immensely grateful that you have brought the works of both to us in your generous way.
Ooh, I liked the twist on this one! Probably my favorite Father Brown story so far, although I really liked the one with the "duel," too. The narration is superb, as always.
Thank you, Abigail. It's quite satisfying this one. It's really odd how many more listeners this one has got. Was wondering if the word 'salad' was distorting the algorithm. How many were disappointed not to get a recipe with rocket and tuna?
Thanks Greg! I was wondering if you'd consider one day narrating Chesterton's The Man Who Was Thursday? Talk about a menagerie of uncommon characters and a unique challenge, I would imagine, as a narrator! Just a friendly suggestion!
I've always loved this one - the image of Father Brown producing those items one at a time from about his person is just glorious! It made me chuckle again today. Thanks so much Greg, these stories are such a treat.
Can’t beat a Father Brown story, many thanks for this one I hadn’t heard before. Mr Wagland you remain a superior narrator, by a country mile best on Y Tube✊♥️
Oh I'm late to this one haha...Glad I have it to listen to now though..5 am and can't sleep. You're soothing voice shall help! (Unless I end up listening to it all 😂.. I will relisten if I don't!!)
goodness gracious, I've got company 😊. It's 856a, first day of EDT. , i am still awake, save for a 7 minute micro mini-nap. So very glad for your stories, and your narrations. Oftentimes, the "lullaby voices" on "sleep" apps/channels have the opposite of their intended effect, causing all my senses to be on heightened alert, fully awake. Happy spring Time.😉 💤 😴 and thanks for the pleasure of your company!
Aha! A birthday present 🎁! A Father Brown story I have never heard read by my favorite Holmes narrator 🥳 Big appreciation from across the great pond. 💛
I would really love to hear some Tommy and Tuppence from you. Most narrators can only do one of them really well, but I expect you would portray both characters wonderfully!
*'gooseberry eyes"* I'll have to remember that one . I bet young folks have no idea what a gooseberry is. I've eaten a few gooseberry pies or tried too! Whew, they are sour even w/lots of sugar. These pies almost gave me lock jaw. The berries do take lovely photographs though. My Gran & even now my 83 year old Mom sometimes still make gooseberry pies. *Anyone here ever tried gooseberries?*
I'm Czech and gooseberries are very common here. A lot of gardens have two blackcurrant bushes and two gooseberry bushes near the fence. I was surprised at what you wrote, do you know why gooseberries are less common now in Britain?
@@sherlock_holmes_magpie_audio Some w/allotments still grow veggies & fruit trees as did my Gran here in the US; all the backyard was garden & all her front yard was flowers. It was wonderful. A homegrown tomato is a taste of heaven & so is a fresh apple right off the tree ...store bought apples are the worst
(continues from below, I guess it is, because the edit and reply features are not working) So this happened yesterday afternoon of course July 13th 2024 I can no longer engage in it all. Everything that comes from it is going to be bloody awful because violence just begets more violence and I'm wondering exactly when will my country learn. So I'm here because it is an oasis and I am so grateful that you are here. Thank you and bless you, Greg, et al. Much love and appreciation💙
Hi Gregg , going off topic here I need to recommend a Sherlock Holmes author who I will say is utterly brilliant, it's on a par with ACD I kid you not ..James lovegrove , his stories are gripping and his attention to everything Holmes is second to none ..if you haven't already please give him a try , I've nearly done them all ..and every single story is a masterpiece..and they are currently free on audible , doesn't have your soothing tone but the narrator does a good job
Hey Greg, how are you, hope all is well. TYSM for this reading i enjoyed it very much. I'm not sure, idk if you know but was the same actor also one who was in Hamish Mcbeth?? I will further investigate 🧐🤔🥗 alright. I will say goodnight for now until your next reading post. ❤ Catherine from Tucson AZ 11/6/23
Thanks Greg .You are brilliant Sir.
You are very welcome! All the best!

Who is this pretender Simon? Some young whippersnapper I suppose
Both Greg & Simon are by far best narrators on U Tube, actors make huge difference👍❤️

An odd story, well presented. So different than when I read them. A deeper feel, I think. TY.
Mahe Ohna ✌️ Favour All
Thanks for listening RK
Phenomenal performance! Thanks for this upload.
Glad you enjoyed it!
HI Greg you are becoming one of my favourite narrators. Thank you.
Happy to hear that!

Happy birthday! Hope all well across pond!
Funny in it's own way - Thank you! Southeastern Ontario Canada 😊
Glad you enjoyed it!
I watched the Father Brown series many years ago, and I've been throughly enjoying listening to you read them💛
I am not sure why but this is one of my favorites. Subtle.
I would really love to hear some Tommy and Tuppence from you. Most narrators can only do one of them really well, but I expect you would portray both characters wonderfully!
Must have a look - I've never encountered it before. Is it AC?
Yes, they are
Another brilliant reading from Greg ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
As always You did a brilliant job Greg and I really appreciate your Narrations 🍀
Glad you like them! Cheers David
That title ... irresistible 🤔
Thanks Greg! I'll be listening to this on a long haul flight! I hope you're well. ❤
Good thank you. Going somewhere nice?

Yes. Gooseberry bushes in my grandparents’ garden. Were they next to the rhubarb patch? I think so.

People don’t grow food in their gardens here as much I’m guessing. We are slaves to the supermarket corporations?

I planted a red gooseberry in my back garden. I love it but hadn't realised it would be covered in massive thorns 😂
I liked this one, a very good read sir:)
Glad you enjoyed it!
Quite creative and surprising ending.
Glad you liked it!

Ooh Yes indeed I can do a Salad with Crayfish😜(My Take on the Cray Bit🤷♂️)
Greg’s Dulcet Tones Await Everyone So Get Stuck into the Salad🙏👍
Indeed
Such a sad story, actually, to have a man that is described as such a jolly fellow would gaslight his only real friend.

Can you please read us Captain Sharky or the man of fourty faces .
Maybe
Hi 👋 😊
Where are you Greg? All ok? 4 months, and zero new story. 😢😢😢
Er… new story ✅ Thanks for asking… all ok 👍🏼
