May I ask why you put a grooved board on the end? No bullnose or square cut?

seeing the bottom grooves makes it look unfinished and unprofessional. Why didn't you frame the step so you can use 3 full widths instead of the little sliver. Definitely not how I would do this deck.

why in the world would you not put a square cut on the ends sp you don't see the groove. looks horrible

I'm not saying this is the wrong way to do this, but I'd probably look at some other videos...

I like to lay my steps out on a 2x4 so only full pieces are used. No rips. I enjoy installing Trex.. really clean look

In spite of all the little nitpicks people have about exposed edges and what not, I'd say great video. Yes, there are some things that could be done better to hide cuts and such (I'd definitely cover up those cuts with fascia boards), but this is still a very helpful video. It is good to see the full install process for this. There's a lot of good information in this video, even if not perfect. It gives me a lot of confidence in what I'm about to do. I miss my father-in-law (passed away in 2020).. he was a great resource for stuff like this, and you remind me of him. Take care!!

I dont get all the complaints about seeing the groves on ends of deck looks fine to me, the groves adds character. I'd be more concerned with cost of composite decking vs sawing my own out of logs that needs repainting every year and or replacement every 10-20 years.......

I sure hope this is your own deck.. Why on earth would you use a grooved board on an out side edge??? No picture frame with solid board. 😅

the name of the channel says it all, "Get it done", I wouldn't pay for that job... awful, shouldn't even be aloud to have a hammer in his hand, let alone charge people for that. hope it was his own property....

Ok I see some saying oh should have done it this way or that way. Well it’s what I call builders choice. I work in a professional wood shop some of would build the same cabinet, everyone did something different but get the same end result. As long as it passes inspection all good. Second thing is are you paying for this project? Probably not so keep all your negative comments to you self! Every one does things different. As long as it looks good and works good last a long time!

Thank you for understanding. Everything that I do to help people is for FREE . I never charge any labor at all. Unfortunately on TH-cam there are many opinions. That is why I don't respond to some of the negative comments. Thanks again Jim
