If you're looking for an increase of performance, don't bother upgrading from 3060 not worth it considering the price of 4060. But if want a low power consumption gpu, then you can consider it. 170w vs 110w.
@@theproblem9938True, everybody says the 4060 sucks because there was no giant upgrade in performance but for new pc builders its a great card for a good price
@@suyash4567 personally I would go with 3060 cause it has 12gb of vrams with 128 bit compared to 4060's 8gb 128 bit. I need the higher vrams cause I do minor video editing/3d rendering from time to time. However if you're only into gaming. Go with the newer 4060 cause it is newer, has dlss 3 support which significantly improves performance in gaming. Just look up 3060 vs 4060 benchmarks in youtube it would help you decide what to go for.
You already lost the gamble. This video is solid proof that more vram isn't everything. Examples: 1.) Look @ 11:55, 9.5gb vram used and only +2 fps gain (no real world difference). Meanwhile, 4060 uses 2.5gb less memory, runs cooler, and runs 60 watt less. 2.) look @12:35, 3060 using 4gb more vram than the 4060 and it still loses to the 4060 by 5 fps! 4060 is hands down more efficient. Until game titles need absolute Vram space to run the game (12gb+), then the 3060 MIGHT win consistently. However, if that were to happen, it would be time for a new gpu card anyway.
Looks like the 4060 is utilizing the VRAM more efficiently in most cases, although its not completely consistent. ex. Just look at Hogwarts, the 3060 is using 10.5gb and the 4060 is using 7gb.
At first I wasn't very impressed by the 4060. Then I noticed the power consumption is better and frame time is generally smoother in most games. Not a huge leap in performance over last gen 60 series but an improvement for sure. Decent for the price point.
@@hemendraravi4787in about 2 or 3 years the 4060 will be like the 3060. I would still go with the 4060 because of newest technology built in it, Even if it has less ram.
You litterraly have it in the video, and it is still better on the 8gb side. Vram is clearly one of the thing that has the least effect on fps. You either have enough vram, or not. problems only occur when you don't have enough.

4060 has its own demands in the market, its for people who want to play 1080p at almost Ultra settings and have old but quality 500W PSU's or some new cheap 500W or new quality 450w, but the first situation could be more real for buyers, also they get a card that basically performs like an overclocked 3060 albeit with less VRam, but with the innovative option of Frame Generation, they spend nothing for power upgrade, play 95% of games on Ultra at 1080p with better FPS than 3060, even with 128 bit buss and 8GB Vram, and where they cant get FPS (e.g. The Last of Us) or on any game that is unoptimized on 8GB VRam, they turn on FG and get a huge boost with almost no drop in quality, even most games can run Ultra + Ray Tracing with 8GB VRam at 1080p in cards stronger than 4060 and 3060Ti, so in case they suffer a slowdown, they turn on FG, also their card is brand new, not used. basically its a win-win situation for the people who want it. But for most people it's not a good deal, you could basically get a second hand 3060 12GB and not worry about VRam and have a decent Pixel/Texel Fillrate and 192 bit bus, and when the FPS gets low, you turn on DLSS and the problem solved, runs any game on 1080p with RT enabled at least above 35-40 FPS average on DLSS Quality or no DLSS on games with less load, even Cyberpunk at 1080p with maxed settings + RT + Path Tracing + DLSS Quality (PT not in photo mode, and in windowed borderless) get you around 35 FPS and with the lowest drop on 29 FPS, so you want higher FPS turn off Path Tracing. There is another card good for the money on the second hand market is the 3060ti, monstrous speed for the least budget, eats the 3060 12GB, just some mini stutters at some games some minimal texture loading issues that happen on 8GB cards but getting DDR5 may help that a bit, but the speed is impressive for the money, at least where I live (Iran) they cost the same. On Brand New cards for people with quite new 500W-550W PSU's, a 4060ti 16GB could be a great deal, some say put a bit more and get 4070, but you need a huge power upgrade as well as less VRam (not important here 12GB is more than enough on 1080p and 1440p), so a 4060 Ti 16GB performes like an overclocked 3060ti with twice VRam, Win-Win for many people not wanting to play 4K, just the 128 bit bus may stuggle for people who do rendering stuff, so its brilliant for most gamers. The best card you can get for the money if you want to spend big and play at 4K, get a 850w PSU and a 4070 Ti Super, its a monster, 4080 is a but faster but much more expensive. You can play any game at 4K with DLSS Quality at above 30-35 FPS avg, using FG puts it up at least 8-18 FPS. These are (in my opinion) the only cards that are worth buying depending on your needs. A 4060 Ti 16GB is more than enough on 1080p, even 1440p, but for 4K, you better try not to go lower than 4070 Ti Super (which is on par with 3090 Ti, but with 8 GB Less VRam which isn't of any concern as of yet in 4K, most games barely Fill Up 16GB VRam in 4K at most)
I'll take the 4060. DLSS, lower power consumption, lower fan speed for more or less the same speed... You need to look at these minor things if you want your gpu to last. Both GPUs have the same price in my country.

people say the 4060 is trash but it pulls less power and even if not a huge jump it still performs better than the 3060 and it has the newer gen software and costs like 30$ cheaper and sometimes you can find it at like only $280 or $290
If you have nothing buy a 4060 before you buy a 3060. If you have a 3060 don't bother buying a 4060. The point being as an upgrade the 4060 is a waste of money. Most couldn't care less about power consumption especially when its only like 40w we just want the biggest bang for our buck!

No fsr or frame gen it required over 11g vram. 2k required 10g and even at 1080p it was just above 8g vram. Be curious to see the difference with that game from 1080p,2k and 4k.
@@williamcrooksii9139 nvidias frame gen is much better than fsr3 on nvidia cards because it creates much less latency. atm you cant use reflex with fsr and i dont think thats going to change. either way, both cards are fine, dropping textures from ultra to high is worth it imo. newer, better frame gen, a lot less powerdraw, runs cooler and so on. after the price cut its gonna be a really good deal at 250 260 ish. also dlss helps a lot with vram due to upscaling + in games most of the time vram isnt capped its simply allocated
low vram is already an issue in modern titles and there are many examples of it. Cards should have 12gb minimum with how high texture resolutions are and the increase in titles using ray tracing.

I have a 4060 but it came in a pre-built rig. I looked at many options, but the 4060 rig was about the same price as many other 3060 rigs I saw. If going the pre-built route, the 4060 is a good choice as it offers slightly better performance for about the same money. The 4060 as a standalone upgrade from 3060 is not worth it. Overall the 4060 is a good card, just badly priced.
If you are eyeing these two go for the 3060 those 12gbs are going to be useful in the near future, new demanding games are already touching the 8gb vram and just like the 4gb now they are going to get obsolete in a few years

i think 4070TI with those 12GB and around 25% higher price than normal 4070 is not the best card in terms of longevity. in my opinion 4070TI screams to give her more VRAM, maybe NV had should initialy release 4080 with 20GB and 4070ti with 16GB and 4070 with 12GB and leave the 4090 with its power with 24GB. However, the regular 4060 is a newer card with new features such as raytracing, and DLSS 3.0 wich would increase the performance even more. But by just looking at the two cards running games natively its not that good of an upgrade. So go with the 4060ti at least. TLDR: 4060 = new, has DLSS and Raytracing but only 20% increase from the GTX 1080 at native resolutions. 4060ti = All of the above but 40% performance increase rather than 20% making it way more of an attractive upgrade.

And you are sacrificing 4gb of vram. 8gb is now lowest end/entry level gpu territory. NOT on whats supposed to be a midrange gpu. Infact, why didn't nvidia just make the 4060ti a 192bit 12gb gpu and cap its tdp to 140w and sell that as the 4060? Then you'd see ~3070ti performance if not more

This kind of people was saying in 2013 - 2017 that the Ps4 and xbox one had no real 1080p and downscaled the game to 900p. How the tables turned and now this people using render in lower Resolution and upscale in to ther native resolution and think this is a good thing. then we have again the scenario where someone get the best Gaming CPU that deliver like 5 to 20 or even more FPS in games with ther entry gaming cards, i am 100% sure someone who build a gaming Entry PC will buy the more expensive CPU that cost more then his GPU just to get the GPU run at max FPS, 100% people will do that right ? People who buy a entry gaming card will buy a entry gaming CPU and motherboard and ram, the Ryzen 5600x or 7600x will be a better thing to use the cards for a benchmark and we will see how the RTX 3060 / 4060 will even not scratch the 50 fps in the last of us part 1 and this has nothing to do with "Bad optimazion from the developers" this has more to do with you see videos how the cards perform better with the best CPU on the market + games using new engines that give more options for visuals. in the hogwards legacy video you can see that the RTX 3060 is smooth and the 4060 is having stuttering problems, it is not as smooth as the RTX 3060 and this is the sad truth here. And you can see that the RTX 4060 is not smooth in the most games compare to the RTX 3060, people who bought back then a RTX 3060 made a better deal then people who bought a RTX 4060, because you have a lil bit less FPS but have at the end the smoother experience, it mean your RTX 3060 is giving you the better gaming experience.

And the 4060 only costs around 10 bucks more than 3060 in my country, so 10 bucks more for about 20 percent more performance seems good
I was looking for this comment. So many people on here are saying they want the 12gb of vram but don’t realize that the card is slower
Looks like the 4060 is utilizing the VRAM more efficiently in most cases, although its not completely consistent.
ex. Just look at Hogwarts, the 3060 is using 10.5gb and the 4060 is using 7gb.
@@Exce1si0rthat happens because 3060 has 12 gigs, it has ram to spare. Had it had 8 gigs, it too would have used the same amount of vram as the 4060.

At first I wasn't very impressed by the 4060. Then I noticed the power consumption is better and frame time is generally smoother in most games. Not a huge leap in performance over last gen 60 series but an improvement for sure. Decent for the price point.
RTX 4060 = RTX 3060 OC Edition but with less VRAM however more power efficient and has DLSS 3.

You litterraly have it in the video, and it is still better on the 8gb side. Vram is clearly one of the thing that has the least effect on fps. You either have enough vram, or not. problems only occur when you don't have enough.

The wattage alone says it all. Same performance but 60-80w between the 3060 and 4060.
Don't forget about power consumption and DLSS 3.0. it is worth extra money
A 4060 Ti 16GB is more than enough on 1080p, even 1440p, but for 4K, you better try not to go lower than 4070 Ti Super (which is on par with 3090 Ti, but with 8 GB Less VRam which isn't of any concern as of yet in 4K, most games barely Fill Up 16GB VRam in 4K at most)
Cyberpunk performance on my 3060 12GB was with 12100F i3

i Have ASUS NVIDIA GeFORCE RTX 3060 TI with a ASUS 1920X1080 144Hz can over clock easy > i belive this card is better then the 4060 > is not worth 2000 save your money get the 3060 =)
i have a 1060 3gb one planning to upgrade after a long time . please let me know in one word RTX3060 OC 12 gb or RTX 4060 oc 8 gb
if you are upgrading from old gpu get the rtx 4060
great comparison video. I found a 3060 for half the price of what I paid for my 4060 on amazon. This video shows that the 4060 isn't exactly worth that extra money
Unfortunately returning my 4060 for a 3060 due to a bottleneck and I’m glad to see that it’s not much of a downgrade
Let's make it short.
Rtx 3060: if the purpose are rendering, editing, and 3d modeling
Rtx 4060: if you just want to play games
Is 4060 good for rendering like blender or after effect?
@@gigachad4774 yeahhh and it can render much faster than the 3060. However, if you work with complex rendering and 3d modeling...you should go with higher Vram. Pick 4060 if the energy cost in your country or city is expensive. 4060 is very efficient and faster in rendering compared to 3060 but the only cons is it has only 8gb VRam. You can still render with 4060 with the thing called "render by layer" this method exists in many rendering softwares. So that you can still render complex rendering with just having 8gb of ram. 3060 on the other hand, can render more complex rendering as a "whole" without rendering it per layers compared to 4060. However, it is much slower than 4060
@@seacake4348 thank you for the information buddy
@@seacake4348 I'm building my first pc with i5 13600 k with rtx 4060 and ddr5 32 gb ram for rendering, editing and gaming and had many confusion about the components
I think that the 4060 and 4080 are nvidias dlss cards. They realy want yountomuse it with dlas and fg for 1080p and 4k to have a high fps
In my country 3060s r like 230-250$ 12gb
And 4060s r 320-350$ which is trash and i recommend the 4070 only 520$-525$
These generations of graphics cards are so bad! I couldn't upgrade my GPU after GTX 1650 that I bought almost 5 years ago 😭
I can see that my opinion will be unpopular. But 4060 seems better to me because most games have more stable FPS. Moreover, what if you pay less for the 3060 when it consumes much more electricity?
The 4060 will suffer the same fate of the 320mb 8800 gts, the 2gb 960, the 3gb 1060, and the 4gb 6500xt. Low quality textures will be your best friend.
Thx nice comparsion, for me is 100% winner RTX 4060 for its lower power consumption
Exist the undervolt ... and wins 4 gb vram more
Bunch of complaining Karen's bitching about a few fps. Most of the time if you didn't know what card it was you couldn't tell the difference. Just play your games and find something that matters to complain about
Just bought a RTX 4060 The XLR8 PNY 3 fans rgb 299.00 never gets above 60c freaking amazing .
So at best the 4060 is 10% better, but its a strictly 1080p card.
And UserBenchmark is lying saying its 25% faster. Thx for the info.
In raw performance technically faster. Some workloads will be faster. but they are about the same for general gaming at 1080P
These x060 releases is starting to look alot like intel's... I hope someone can actually catch up so we can get some actual generational improvements in every tier...
Me who buy 3060 420💲 in pandemic 😂
wtf 4060😂 a sold my PC 2 years ago with 3700x and 3070 and bought xbox, now i sold xbox and want to buy pc again and wtf i can see now:) 4000-series is sucks. Even 4060ti worst than my old 3070. Probably i gonna buy the same pc but used.
You will find a better deal if you keep checking Best Buy open-box deals near you (if you have those stores near you), within a week or 2 you'll see an open-box 4070 that will blow away a 3070, and not be used. Or for a better version of the 3070, the 4060ti 16GB on open-box (around $350) is a good GPU. About same performance as 3070 but with new features and twice the VRAM. Garbage GPU at retail but a nice grab on open-box.
we need dlss2 and dlss3 comparison, for example on diablo 4, this will be a direct comparrison between dlss generations
Rtx 4060 could have destroyed the midrange gpu market if only it had 12gb vram😢
В моей стране 4060 стоит на 60$ дороже. Я не считаю 4060 выгодной покупкой. Ведь я могу вложить эти деньги в процессор и оперативную память
Just buy a new console and surpass all of this nonsense. I gave up on PC's long ago. That's just me.
The Power usage💀💀👻
4060 is great,...and with new upscaling method,,, so 4060 is future zone...,
I don’t have enough knowledge or experience yet to be able to decide what to do. There’s so many comments on the different GPU’S, and this comment section doesn’t make it any easier. Coming from a 1060 3gb, would I go for this one, or should I go with the meta and buy a 3060? It’s a jungle
4060 for 300 USD 💵
funny rtx 4060 for 299$ ? when i take a look right now the cheapest model cost 325€ and a normal model cost 350€ this is 355 and 383 $ so yea this is not cheap for a shit entry gaming card that cant even put out raw performance for 1080p ultra settings and 60fps.
But okey ... people's fanboy feelings get hurt so they teak shadows down to medium and Anti Alasing to x8 and enable Some upscaling software and are happy then.
Ultra preset on cards that was marketed for raytracing so put raytracing on even on low but what i am talking, this cards are benchmarketd with the best cpu's on the market of course if the consumer put This card in his older System like Ryzen 3700x/intel 10600k/11700k or so will have the same fps right ?
And you can see that the RTX 4060 is not smooth in the most games compare to the RTX 3060, people who bought back then a RTX 3060 made a better deal then people who bought a RTX 4060, because you have a lil bit less FPS but have at the end the smoother experience, it mean your RTX 3060 is giving you the better gaming experience.
