Nobody is perfect. Then comes Nadia. I’ll never forget watching Nadia get that 1.0 on the scoreboard and the announcers not knowing what it meant. It was a magic moment that I’m glad I witnessed. Thanks Nadia.
I recently read Nadia's autobiography, "Letters to a young gymnast". I found it the most beautiful, moving, authentic book about gymnastics I've ever read. I highly recommend you to have it in your libraries and lives... Nadia is a really wise and deep soul. Unforgettable. Thank you so much ❤

I grew up in a fiercely anti-Soviet family. But we all cheered Olga and Nadia. I remember my mom crying when Nadia scored the 10s.

She inspired so many young women 😍 i was a Huge fan and watched her and Dorothy Hamill every chance i got when i was little ❤

You know something!!! I was a HUGE Nadia Comaneci fan.. in fact we are the same age so was in love with her! 😅and she was an amazing gymnast and deserved the tens… BUT!…BUT! Olga Korbut was the one who really put gymnastics on the map and brought in millions of new fans worldwide. AND! she also invented new bold and daring and dangerous moves that were even named after her. She was a giant that Nadia and many other gymnasts stood on the shoulders of. She most definitely should have got tens. But of course in the belief in gymnastic perfection the Gymnastics Judging world didn’t believe she or any other gymnast had reached that yet. But Nadia had.. which of course was not true because all sports evolve and improve. Olga Korbut was a perfect ten for her day and the greatest gymnast that had ever lived at that time.
Agreed. Olga Korbut was a tour de force in the Olympics. Nadia's technique is simply impeccable. Both spectacular gymnasts.

@@Grizzlied555 No.. most remember her for the Tens… and I’m not saying she didn’t deserve them.. I’m saying Korbut also deserved them… and she was the giant that brought gymnastics to the fore who Comaneci stood on the shoulders of.
Like a fine wine, baby! She's stunning! I have the utmost respect for Simone Biles (and many other gymnasts as well) and what she has accomplished. No one can rightfully dispute or take away Simone's accolades or contribution to the sport. But in MY OPINION, Nadia is the greatest gymnast ever for many reasons. There were certain intangibles that simply made her special, which is why Nadia will never be forgotten and she is still relevant nearly 50 years (wow!) later. I will always love her! 👑👑👑

Please be kind. They’re both great and should be appreciated for their talents and what they have contributed to gymnastics. Besides, how can you compare them? Gymnastics is much different from the times when Nadia competed. No one will ever break her record of competing at 14 1/2 and her amazing uneven bars move named after her has been banned from competition.
