Love this challenge. Started cutting hair in the navy using the Oster Classic 76’s and it was crazy! But cutting hair with detachable blades makes is super simple to follow it up with your andis fast feeds and babyliss FX for detailing. Like you said you have the opportunity to blow through haircuts in no time so taking that extra 10-15 min to detail is a handy way to increase the amount of clients a barber can handle

Cleannnn. I recently started using blades. Definitely not something I would use for fading full skin fades, but I use it for some parts, specifically the dark portions like 2, 1 1/12, and 1A.

Good to see you being versatile brother! The Octane is an awesome Clipper and I'm sure you're going to get a lot of heavy use and enjoyment out of them. I use the octane's on a daily basis for about 50% of every fade that I do on top of clearing away bulk. If you're someone (not you sean lol) that can't fade with these you need to learn, especially if you're in a high pace shop and need to speed up your time without sacrificing quality.

Learned to use these and fade with them , I take at least a good 10 if not 15 mins of a cut.
Give u time to high pace or do more services for more $$$$
I don’t work rushed and clients are happy.
      Be blessed everyone!

The easiest way for me to use blades is. I’ll do my base with a #2. Then the bald line with a liner. Then come up with a 0a. 1a. 1 1/2. Go back and blend that 0a with the 1. And erase the bald line with my lever clipper. Preferably a wahl style fade blade. Half. Closed. Half way. And clipper over comb anything over the 2.

Just want to chime in and say great video..Ive been watching alot of your vids and even tbo I've been a barber for almost a decade now I've learned alot of different techniques from your cuts..Would love to see more design work (especially the 2 line design that's popular now)...Bald fade with just detachable blades is tough..Anything under 1-1.5 is a challenge..Personally I use Octanes/Supra for removing bulk and doing cuts for older clients...Great stuff as usual..Keep up the good work!!!!

Nice work and I use to use the oster clippers metal blades for fades and I always would use the OA to get the guide line then the triple 000 then the 1 1/2 then 1 then 5 zero then 000 for details line up then razor.or 0A make guide line 000 under the OA then 1 1/2 then 1 then I go back to the OA and then the 2 then 0000 and then 000 has to be used after to detail and these two different approaches I don’t really depend on any longer thankfully for the invention of the cordless clippers and trimmers amazing.your approaches on this fade is awesome 😎 cause I really believed you didn’t know how to fade with detachable clippers 😂 but you do I’m impressed and you did a very good job 👏🔥💈💪🌱💎💎💎💰

Think of the blade open on an adjustable clipper as a 1 detachable blade. So a 1 open would be more or less a 2 blade. I’m not familiar enough to tell you exactly what those would be though. Maybe 1a, 1 1/2, and 2 3/4
