    All good advice. Not too many people know what to look for when purchasing a vintage used camera. I've been lucky so far. Every one of my vintage cameras work as advertised with the exception of the light meters in a couple of them.

    Hey guys, we hope everyone is doing well with the quarantines (self-imposed or government imposed). This video is made to help all the people who consistently ask "how do I know whether this camera works". I struggled with this when I bought my first camera too, but was lucky and did not waste too much money before finding the cameras that I'm still using today. If you find it useful, please share with your friends who are looking to get into analog photography.

    rly helpful video! i recently had this sudden interest in film photography and decided to go ahead to purchase my 1st film camera. was thinking how should i even go about starting to test the camera to make sure it's in usable condition. it will break my heart if i ended up spending hundreds of dollars & a roll of film just to end up with an expensive paper weight hahah

    Hey, this video was really helpful thanks. I can’t seem to find your video on checking second hand lenses though, is it in a specific playlist on your TH-cam account? Thanks

    Ain’t gonna lie, when I bought film for my “new” Minolta X-700, I immediately searched for test videos and this one was first, this video was very helpful and useful, big thanks, thanks as well for saving me 7€, cuz my Minolta has a dead shutter 😝

    this will sound soooo dumb, but i bought an old film cam from a bazaar with the knowledge of a noob smartphone photographer and i missed the fact that it was missing the shutter curtain until i loaded a film and was already halfway through it thanks to your video 😂 thank you for saving me the disappointment of looking at developed photos of nothingness 🙏

    Do you think I can replace the black sponge thingy? I find it on my mom's old camera Canon Sureshot 38-60mm Zoom very rusty like.

    The first thing my opinion, to check is the camera shutter!

    Thank you very much..for this helped me out a lot! I am just learning about these intricate vintage beauties. And PS...by the way, Your English is very good, You should be proud! I am guessing that your language of coarse is hard to learn, but so is English! Take care, best wishes..

      Thank you! Also, I speak English natively. As a Singaporean, I grew up speaking both English and Chinese that’s why my accent isn’t what you hear from western countries. Hope you find some good camera purchases!

    Re, self timer. Do you know anybody in the history of the World who has ever used a self-timer? No, me neither. It is not a function that needs to be checked.

    • @Project3635
      @Project3635  ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s still a part of the camera. You can choose not to check if you don’t care about it but it doesn’t mean that everyone thinks the same way. Likewise, can you show me evidence of no one ever using the self timer?
