Greg Howe admit it himself that he's influenced A LOT by Scott Henderson and Allan Holdsworth. If you want real originality, look at players like Chet Atkins, George Van Eps, Robert Fripp, Allan Holdsworth, Django Reinhardt, Robert Johnson, Charlie Christian, Michael Hedges, Stanley Jordan.

I think Gardiner is a great player but he has borrowed very liberally from the Guthrie Govan school of guitar .....
He's still got his own sound though. I could definitely tell his playing apart from anyone else's.
which is actually good because not many can sound like guthrie and have their own style as well
