- This is the jam I ended up with, following the process I described in the previous video.
This time we're taking it slower, calmer, less creepy, and I felt like that was the case, especially during these challenging times.
Enjoy ✨

This is wonderful, I adore your works with Lyra. I was searching for some stuff that would sound more ambient rather than experimental and I found your channel. Subscribed.
Thank you so, so much! 🙏🏻
You can find all my Lyra tunes also on Spotify or Bandcamp, if you want to take them with you while on the go 🧡
beautifully nuanced, dense, intense, and yet inviting..............the perfect balance...................Ah the Lyra - Divine Decay in a box..................
For this piece I literally closed my eyes and went with the current.
I didn't even know what I played until I listened back to the recording, I only knew I was very satisfied with the "experience" of the jam, and I knew the result had to be good.
Thank you so much 🧡
sounds like you decided to literally 'Go with the Flow'.......
even the surprising moments were moments of organic surprise😆
beautiful, you've worked your way around that Lyra and make it sing❇
Thank you so much 🧡
I am glad you liked it, and you took part in this dialogue between me and the instrument
I just received my pink Lyra today. This is the 3rd one I bought......returned each of the other 2 (one white, one green) not because of color but because I had not seen what this machine is capable of until I found your videos. thank you so much for restoring my faith in the Lyra!
I understand completely! I would have kept it for long either if it hadn’t been for the color!
And while that doesn't make much sense to many people, I strongly believe that instruments (especially these ones) should be inspiring, a joy to spend time with.
Have fun with it! 🧡
This is amazing. Love these sounds which you produce effortlessly. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you so much 🧡
I love the community the Lyra build around me, for me, and I am so happy to be sharing these sonic moments with you all 🙏🏻
If you watch the previous video, I'm pretty sure none of it is effortless, which makes it all the more excellent!
Bloody hell! That sounds absolutely wonderful.
I am very very proud of this jam, it has been a very immersive experience, since I've tried to approach the Lyra like if it was my first time (following the theme of the tutorial).
It came from the deeper inside, and I am so glad you like it 🧡
masterful noodle
Thank you so, so much 🧡
OMG !!!!! Absolutely beautiful.
Honored! Thank you so much 🙏🏻
❤ love it ❤
I am happy you enjoyed it 🧡
Touches of Hildur Guðnadóttir - Chernobyl really nice. Can't wait to get a Lyra-8.
Thank you so much 🧡
And also, thank you for the music suggestion, I love to get to know new stuff :)
That is a great record. She said she made it with samples from a nuclear plant. But I wouldn’t be surprised if there is some Lyra 8 in there.
W00t!! New Dexba track
Oh yeah! And after that recording, I put my best Lyra tunes in this little EP

You can find here or on any store and streaming service. I’m sure you’ll like it 🧡
Very nice playthrough. Incredible.
Thank you so much, I am glad you liked it 🧡
Wow..this is awesome..no words but great!👍👍
Thank you so so much 🧡
No words needed, I got it :)
@@Dexba 😁👍👍
Just amazing! Your works are great ❤️
Humbled, thank you so much for your constant support 🧡
@@Dexba I really appreciate your tutorials, but let me say that maybe I appreciate even more your performing videos (now that I discovered them). You truly have something. One of my dreams for the future would be to open something like a small performance club for electronic experiments here nearby Milan where I live. Somewhere for live performances exactly like these ones :)
👍💯👍😉
Love this - you have a similar style on the Lyra to me, although I often lose control of it 🤣🤣
That's why we connected in the first place, and I notice now you got the Heart Badge near to your name 😁
I think I will start to let myself go now I received the Microcosm 😉
@@Dexba 😻
Sounds ace… I hope to get one of these one day… the green one I recon… derelict Chernobyl vibes… with due respect though obviously
Thank you a lot! And you should definitely try one, they have a special, ineffable quality to them!
works well with the CXM 1978 , especially warm bass end
Exactly! I am so happy I bought it, coming from BigSky, OTO BAM and other cheaper alternatives.
Perfect companion!
It's been a long time since you've made a video with the Lyra-8. Did you get tired of it? Was it just a momentary thing to play with, quickly replaced by the next exciting toy in the list? Have you sold it or is it sitting on a shelf somewhere? Great music, thank you.
That's a great question, and also the question I expected for a while and only now came out (so, thank you!)
1. Have I sold the Lyra?
No, I haven't, even though I thought about it a few times; usually, when I think about selling it, I turn it on, fiddle with it for a bit, and don't even realize I've just spent two hours wandering in some extraordinary soundscapes and put it back again. So yeah, we could say it spends a lot of time sitting on a shelf, but every time I take it out I record something that becomes one of the most viewed (and appreciated) recordings here on my channel.
2. Was it momentary?
No, it never was. I bought it as a joke because of the funny colour, and it ended up being the key to me making more music. It also got me a ton of views here on TH-cam, and while I don't care about those specifically, it definitely hinted to me I was "onto something" and that maybe my music didn't suck and I could be a little prouder, showing it around. So I kept going, and now I am so lucky to be here talking about these things with other passionate people like you. So, thank you Lyra!
3. Did you get tired of it?
It depends a lot on the period. I get easily tired of it if I use it too frequently, and while that seems bad, to me is also natural, since I can't stay focused on one single "project" for too long (or I would probably make music on a DAW). Imagine I am even a cellist, but for many reasons (mostly constantly moving from place to place) I hadn’t had time to play the cello for almost 6 years now, but I still love it as when I left it. The constant change of location/house is also why the uploads have been so sporadic 😔
The final thought I have about the Lyra is that every time I record something I try to make it a bit special, a bit of an occasion.
You may have noticed that: I try to avoid using the same setup, the same framing, or even the same style, for what I can.
With the Lyra, this is something hard to do: being so unpredictable and quirky, I could record a lot and dump everything around carelessly, but that wouldn't satisfy me much, so I decided to keep it on a shelf and use it only when I feel "the Lyra moment" from my heart.
@@Dexba Thank you so much for your reply. Best answer ever, I appreciate it. Please keep on recording and uploading your Lyra adventures, they are great. All the best.
see you use the cxm in studio/balanced mode, but lyra output is not balanced, does it make a difference?
Not to my ear. I don't know if the Lyra is quite unpredictable by nature or what, but never had any issue
Any plans on getting the Cosmos? They are actually made for each other....
I'd love to! Money is always an object though, and I know it sounds strange to say under a video with a CXM1978, but when I decided to spend that much on a reverb I wanted to get something super versatile for everything I could throw at it.
The Cosmos is not that, exactly as the BigSky I sold to get the CXM wasn't that, and that's good if you can own more than one reverb, but unfortunately, I can't.
Maybe if I sell the Ornament-8 I could get a Cosmos because I'd really love to have one, only heard amazing stuff coming out of it!
@@Dexba good luck! The reverb is beautiful.
♥️🎛🎧😁🎧✨ timeless
Thank you so much!
And yes, the Lyra for me is proving to be timeless: it started as an impulse buy, I thought I would have returned it in two weeks, and now we’re close to two years of deeper relationship 🧡
@@Dexba I'd impulse buy it too if it wasn't so darn expensive for a weirdo noisemaker.
