It is verry interesting to see how Roth tanks are built and to see their design deficiencies. These tanks could easily be poorly installed which would make it very difficult to get that 30-year warranty. The installation would have to be absolutely perfect (like yours) for the homeowner to get warranty coverage. That underground tank must have been leaking for a long time and finally the water level got high enough to prevent the oil burner from running. The remediation looks to be an expensive undertaking. Your advice on removing any underground tank certainly should be listened to. Hopefully Craig's surgery goes well, and he is back in action at least as an observer/director quickly!

Even doing a quick launch over your work site (5 min) will give you great situational awareness.
Discoloration on grass or soil, other areas of the site, etc..
High resolution photos and/or 4k video before and after for your records AND social media.
You’ve given me a ton of entertainment, so I’ll give you training on the house.
I’ll even loan you one of my higher end drones w/multiple controllers.
(I have 2x DJI Mavic -3 Series - The same model we use for our small sized volunteer fire dept)
The best bang for the buck and a fraction of what they were.
You’ll get up to 45 minutes of flight time per battery swap and you can carry unlimited charged batteries with you..(we carry 8 spares per drone)

Hello! I have been a sub for a while and lurked in your comments and videos for a while. I love you stuff and the workplace dynamic you have going with your business. You are blessed, and I'm not going to lie, I'm a little jealous. I don't have that in my workplace. Please keep up the work. I wish you did a ride along type deal with your job. I'm sure it's a liability issue, but I wish I could take you and the team out for a beer.

I watch every episode. I think you asked and answered your own question today. Taking 5 guys to half day jobs will kill you. I bet you pay them for a full day. There is SO much that you could be doing with paid wasted time... That won't make you popular filling everyone's day to 8 full hours..excluding lunch. I bet you could become at least 25% more profitable. You won't be popular but you can share that 25% too. LOVE this channel.

Definitely invest in a field label machine.
A Brother P-Touch PTE-500 runs on the included lithium rechargeable battery OR AA alkaline.
It prints on TZ and a few other type types and goes from .2” to 1” tape height.
It can print on outdoor grade high-strength adhesive tape in all sorts of colors AND can print on heat shrink tubing.
The label tape cartridges are pricey when using “Brother” brand labels (1” height x 30’ length x-strength adhesive outdoor labels = approx $30 @). We buy labels from the mfg that OEMs them for Brother Corp.= 1/3 of the cost! Approx $10 per cartridge. The 3/4” height ones are $8.
Set up pre-defined templates for repeat items and do unique or more custom designs.
Label copper lines
Label wiring
Label black steel pipe
Label items on a tank
Create special instructions for items like tanks, boilers, red “oil burner” electrical switch plate
Its uses are virtually unlimited!
You can even print labels from your mobile device and print any photo or graphic on the labels.
(simple b/w items are clear & legible)
I couldn’t live without one doing electrical work.

Another tank bites the dust... hey, hey! Ok, file with the state, wait a few weeks, and talk with the insurance company, right? Does Roth make a horizontal 275? I went poking around on the web and it's not clear. Oh, and good luck with the surgery. I suspect he'll be "helping" on the job site in a week or so, and everyone will watching every move! BTW, my brother had a full replacement shoulder 3 weeks ago and was out "supervising" on jobs in about 10 days. Stubborn old bastard! (he's 67)
looks like the same type bladder that is in those ibc tote tanks with the cage around them they get used for waist oil often with secondary protection, can they be used for heating oil ?
@@force311999 use one as you wish but know they won't pass muster with a building inspector as a permanent heating oil tank, which has certain standards. It also won't pass muster with your home owners insurance if there's a problem.

Oil company inspection ? Must be an insurance company thing. The oil delivery company after delivering for many years, now has the delivery driver "inspect" the basement tank. It took him longer to walk down the steps than it did for him to "inspect". Yup has a 2" vent, yup has legs on concrete floor, yup has a level gauge, yup can't smell oil leaking. Done.
I am also going under the knife Christmas eve for my left rotator cup
Yup they should of put in a Granby with a 3 year warranty you know with the really good welds
If the tank had defects why would you except it when delivered then sell it to a customer. Plus you and all your employees went through classes on installing Roth tanks and you have certified to the installation of those tanks for the warranty to be valid

Buy yourself a ton of HIGH QUALITY Outdoor-Rated, UV resistant, Oil resistant, thick vinyl labels.
Large size (large tanks)= 8”x10” Medium size(smaller tanks) = 5”x9” Small size(tank ends) = 3”x5” TINY Size(boiler / safety switches / disconnects / electrical panels & service = 1”x 3”
And… Smaller labels with “Tank Masters” and ARROWS and/or Lettering (“Fill” and “Vent”) for slapping on your black pipe. Small labels “Heating Oil” to place on copper tubing and tiger loop devices.
This will cost you a few hundred bucks and will make life easy and give you tremendous return when customers remember the name!

I get you want the jobs, but bidding lower than your cost, for installs & hoping for leaker to make the $ does not seem like smart business.
Agree but if your competitors are using this model it would seem impossible to do otherwise. Lots of businesses have a loss leader but perhaps not to this extreme. If you notice a lot of these tank removals are part of house sales. No doubt banks have a policy of not loaning money on properties with buried tanks much less a spill that hasn’t been remedied
@@williamlloyd3769 That's exactly what banks are doing... no loans with an in-ground tank. Now, perhaps some of the oil companies are undercutting new tank installs because they make it up on the oil after so many years.
