    1. Don't be afraid to eat.
    2. Keep track of macros/weight and size.
    3. Don't be afraid to lift heavy.
    4. Take the right supplements (creatine, glutamine, Bca, pre-workout and protein)
    5. Switch up your workout.

    When she says "weigh yourself everyday and track every little thing", I think that can back fire. It's like training to be obsessive and have an eating disorder. I think it's good to weigh yourself maybe once a week. But I think you should really try to listen to your body. How do you feel? Are you full? Are you craving fats? Carbs? Protein? And nourish your body and adjust accordingly. And just try to live a healthy lifestyle or else you may feel like you have to break free. Which ends in something extreme.

      I totally agree! I'm just starting to work out and counting calories and/or macros scares me. The food doesn't scare me. That's why I'm afraid if I do start counting, I'll become obsessed and end up with an eating disorder. I just want to know how my body feels and stick with it.

      Weighting yourself everyday is fairly fruitless. Mainly because weight fluctuates and you'll have to weight yourself at the exact same time in the morning, for the result to be viable. Once a month will actually give you a sense of progress.

    • @idontcare4242
      @idontcare4242 4 ปีที่แล้ว +10

    This answered my questioned as to why I seemed to be holding onto water for a couple of weeks when I started using the Pure Rebuild sup and then a couple of days ago I noticed the bloating had gone and I've suddenly started getting my waist line back (and its been a while since I've seen that) so I am one very happy customer. My muscles have never recovered faster either! I love your tip about doing any power lifting moves first in the workout and then the pumping exercises. I shall be trying that out tomorrow! Hey there! Just wanted to let you know some sources of protein I use if I'm in a rush (I'm vegan--I heard you mention vegetarian), that are really great! I've been eating a lot of Field Roast's Vegetarian Sausage (in flavor Apple and Sage 🤤) and they have 25 g of protein per sausage. I typically eat two sausages whenever I cook them so that's already 50g right there :) Gardein is an amazing brand that has some really awesome vegan faux meats that are delicious and loaded with protein as well. Oatmeal with soymilk, soy yogurts, beans/legumes, and leafy greens like spinach/kale/broccoli are other quick and convenient sources :) Of course I eat a variety of foods and not just that for protein, but I hope that helped a bit! ❤

    Arthritis is inflammation of a joint. When I treat arthritis, I recommend looking for and correcting the cause of that inflammation (diet, mobility restriction, improper lifting technique, etc.), as well as trying to reduce inflammation (diet, ginger, turmeric, glucosamine, etc.) and increase overall circulation to the joints to promote repair/healing (hot water epsom salt soaks, massage, capsaicin cream, proper sleeping posture). If your joints are bent when you sleep, they will recover more slowly from normal wear and tear.
    What type of arthritis do you have? What have you tried so far? What's helped?

      Lots of options! Veggies, nuts and seeds, whole grains, quality proteins, etc. But remember, carbs are not bad! If you are looking to build muscle, they will be your friend (just like they are even when you aren't). Carbs give you energy and when you keep an eye on your overall consumption (I just that by counting macros) you realize that the secret is honestly just what goes in your body vs what goes out. Assuming no other health issues exist, the standard is if you consume more than you burn, you'll gain. If you consume less than you burn, you'll lose. Hope that helps put things in perspective!

    Do you recommend taking time off the gym when you are dealing with stress, anxiety, or just overwhelmed with life? I feel very unmotivated and most of the time just want to stay home and do nothing, Wich is very hard to do with a 4yo. I haven't been consistent with my workouts for a while and that just adds extra anxiety to what I'm already dealing with. ❤

    • @KatieCorio
      @KatieCorio  7 ปีที่แล้ว +27

      hi! Hmmm actually i would recommend the opposite. Working out (for me, anyway) is a major stress outlet. I use it to release any stress, anger, anxiety built up in me over the each day. but if you go to the gym and feel so overwhelmed by other responsibilities that you get stressed about working out, i would suggest you take a couple days off and try to get your other things done, or just relax! make a to do list, put the phone and distractions away and get things done. That always makes me feel better. hope this helps!

    This past year I have been shying more and more away from animal protein sources... no specific reason, I am just really starting to like not meat in general - maybe it's the texture idk. So more vegetarian recipes and food ideas when you eat out would be awesome if you could share :) I know you've been sharing a lot on insta which is awesome.

    Chef Riley & Nutrition Specialist here! You were recommended and I'm glad to have found you. Your so straight to the point and open. I'm in great shape but, need that extra impact and I believe your executions on bulking, is my next move. Being 5"11 allows me to keep the model look, so please keep the videos coming! Can you also show how to get that 8 pack out, and how to get into this industry to show women after kids, that life and body can be grand? Thanks! Xoxoxo

I’m curious about the differences between bodybuilding workouts and powerlifting workouts, also the different results from what you’ve experienced?

    Don’t track everything... that is excessive, I’ve lost motivation really quickly especially since I’m not an extremely tedious tracker, end up worrying more about tracking instead of just enjoying the journey of working out. I can guarantee, if you have an average metabolism, drinking water, eating healthy and ENOUGH(for your needs) will show you great results. Also be careful with lifting heavy, it shouldn’t be heavy for you!! You shouldn’t feel in pain or uncomfortable with the weight, low weight high rep is better. Do your research about creatine/preworkout because many people I know who have taken it have had adverse affects (ex. Breathing difficulties, anxiety due to the caffeine, injury due pushing too hard because it’s meant to help you work out longer/harder) as a beginner you don’t need to worry about pushing too hard, always do your research and listen to your body and YOUR natural instinct, our mind body connections are very strong. Don’t even get hooked on those supplements preworkouts etc, your food should provide your energy, you should listen to your body before creating a false state of mind. Your body sends your mind those messages for important reasons. us women need more body building videos!!
