As somebody who has made fun of all the way through school because of my long nose with a bump in the middle, I can tell you that having a nose job in my early twenties completely changed the way I felt about myself. Other people said they hardly noticed it, but it meant the world to me. I wish more celebrities would talk about their procedures, so people would not aspire to things that are unattainable, as well as understanding that there is no shame to wanting to look your best.
Makeup artist of 15 years here! Contouring/highlighting/bronzer can absolutely give the appearance of sharp cheekbones, a more thinned out jawline, and a thinner nose. HOWEVER- it works BEST in photography and/or red carpet type events. We can also contour cleavage, collarbones, shoulder blades... But it's much the same. Even with setting sprays and touch ups, it can often be extremely obvious that makeup is being utilized. If you're just experimenting with your look for fun- makeup is perfect. If you're really wanting a change, surgery is your best bet. Makeup is a great way to see what the surgery may look like before committing!
That a person can go from "attractive person" to "idolized and favored" with just a few millimeters' worth of difference says more about us a a society than it does any person having those surgeries done. I get it -- there's biological imperative and survival of the fittest/most attractive at play, but still -- it just kinda sucks.

I had mine done at 30. I started wearing glasses at 7 and I had a bump on the bridge. So it was thinned there and the tip "rotated ". At first I was disappointed that it wasn't smaller but now I'm glad it isn't. It doesn't look "done" and I can breathe very well. All in all, it was one of the best things I've ever done, I was self conscious as a teenager and teased. Contact lenses were also great, being very nearsighted they weighed way too much. Thank God I got those too.

Right now, I'm contemplating if I shouldn't just live with impaired breathing through the nose in case it might look worse, after. But, then again, revision rhinoplasty is pretty common, right?
I needed surgery on my nose because a mf broke it and I couldn't breathe normally anymore. I really love being able to breathe in a relaxed way, and if you haven't felt that before, I really recommend it
My nose is the exact same. Mine is severely broken, but I've never had the money to fix it. If I could afford it, and there was a good doctor, I would absolutely go for it. I can't flippin breathe out of it, plus we're in a looks driven world, no matter what anyone says. Go for it, as long as you feel like you have the right doctor. My nose has held me back in life.
I've been recommended to get surgery to improve the structural integrity of my nose. I have a slight deviated septum but most of my breathing issues are due to having unusually soft nasal cartilage that doesn't hold it's shape when I breathe in. my Dr told me the procedure would make my nose a bit bigger which I'm really nervous to do bc I've always liked my nose 👀 but the breathing issues are getting worse the older I get and I'm only 26 😅 I want to get a second opinion but if they agree then I should probably do it

From the top of my head, I could name ten regular Armenian girls with better (more refined, less noticeable, and actually suiting their faces) nose jobs, whereas Kim's 'after' nose is a bit too short and too concave-d for her features. Yes, it may be more "photogenic" to have a smaller nose, but it is not always an improvement. Second, it forced her to have a lip lift since it meant that the length of her philtrum became too long. (If you look carefully at some photos, she's got the scars). Third, it is slightly crooked (only some photos show this). I feel bad that someone who was always known from her looks, pretty much since the BEGINNING of her career as Paris' stylist, felt the need to get SO MUCH surgery! Doctor, you forgot to do larger noses transformed on actresses! Marlo Thomas looked like her dad before her rhinoplasty. She has had at least 1. Also Catherine Bell had quite the large nose before her 1st rhinoplasty. I believe she is on #3!
I had my nose done on my 17th birthday 😅 id love to do it 1 more time though, just for some light reshaping and narrowing of the bridge/tip. Its not bad looking now but idk.... lol

Have you come across anyone with ehlers danlos syndrome or connective tissues disorder that makes the cartilage in your nose click and move? I know Kim and Beyonce are hypermobile, and curious if it could play into their nose job results.

But mine comes and goes and got worst with a rhinoplasty.) As for hypermobility: Kim and Beyonce. Kim has the autoimmune disease side of it and I personally think that her hips are cosmetically influenced, but also got disformed by her hips shifting and the same reason she had such a rough pregnancy. Beyonce has the singing range historically associated with a narrow pallet and "stretchy esophagus" and her sister has dysautonomia that commonly occurs in those with hypermobility (much like Sia who already holds the diagnosis, and Demi Lovato, Kelly Clarkson, and Katy Perry have disclosed as "weird party tricks", severe allergies, autoimmunity and mental health issues in several previous interviews. .)
You cannot compare pictures of when people were way younger in their late Teens & Early Twenties to 30 and say look they had surgery. I look like two completely different people from when I was in my Teens to my late Twenties. My nose is smaller. *_Jennifer Aniston had surgery for a Deviated Septum. A medical Condiditon. She never had Rhinoplasty._* This is why to this day especially without Make up her nose looks almost the same. *Kim's bump is still there,* but you will never see it. *It gets contoured and highlighted to death.* She talks about that Armenian bump all the time.

With so many people getting their noses beautified, it must be difficult for people with naturally nice suitable noses , if they are thought by others to have been fixed. Are there requests to have noses widened because it suits their face better?

I know that for a fact they have ALL had some kind of procedure for their face - aside from maybe a few actors. Folks raved on about Helen Mirren - well just watch Calender Girls movie - HUGE bags under her eyes - next movie did not exist. They ALL get stuff done!

Dr. Youn, I have a question: since you don't perform rhinoplasty anymore, and given the murder statistics, if a person comes to you requesting a nose job - who is your #1 choice of referral? 😄 (And, should that plastic surgeon feel flattered, or hire more security?)
As a corollary, what make and model handgun and caliber would a cosmetic surgeon prefer?

I love Kim Raver's nose. I would bring a picture of her to my plastic surgeon and ask for the same nose if I had a rhinoplasty.
Natalie Portman and Blake Lively have naturally big noses that have been chiseled down to the extreme.. such a huge contrast, though they look good.

How can you tell if someone had had a nose job versus makeup. Like on JLo’s nose. If you zoom in you can see the makeup sculpting her nose.
It’s very obvious she has a rhinoplasty love. Contouring can only do so much.

But make-up can do alot to the appearance of someone's nose ^^ i'm not saying non of them have had surgery or anything but just keep that in mind especially with such subtle little changes 😊

Have you come across anyone with ehlers danlos syndrome or connective tissues disorder that makes the cartilage in your nose click and move? I know Kim and Beyonce are hypermobile, and curious if it could play into their nose job results.
Good question, but I'm confused, are you saying that these two celebs actually have EDS? And hypermobile? What do you mean?
@@domotemujin7780 I have EDS! My nose clicks and literally moves up to form what looks like an Irish septum bump. (I'm irish American and my family is known to have such a bump. But mine comes and goes and got worst with a rhinoplasty.) As for hypermobility: Kim and Beyonce. Kim has the autoimmune disease side of it and I personally think that her hips are cosmetically influenced, but also got disformed by her hips shifting and the same reason she had such a rough pregnancy. Beyonce has the singing range historically associated with a narrow pallet and "stretchy esophagus" and her sister has dysautonomia that commonly occurs in those with hypermobility (much like Sia who already holds the diagnosis, and Demi Lovato, Kelly Clarkson, and Katy Perry have disclosed as "weird party tricks", severe allergies, autoimmunity and mental health issues in several previous interviews. .)

You cannot compare pictures of when people were way younger in their late Teens & Early Twenties to 30 and say look they had surgery. I look like two completely different people from when I was in my Teens to my late Twenties. My nose is smaller. *_Jennifer Aniston had surgery for a Deviated Septum. A medical Condiditon. She never had Rhinoplasty._* This is why to this day especially without Make up her nose looks almost the same. *Kim's bump is still there,* but you will never see it. *It gets contoured and highlighted to death.* She talks about that Armenian bump all the time.
