Great video. After trying for ages I’ve finally figured out how to catch mullet on rod and line, it’s easy when you Guthrie hang of it. I keep a few in a fish tank for the quick sessions after work. Where would you look for flat head in a lake in winter? Shallow or deep! Cheers for the videos 👍
Used to catch flathead not sure if it was weed a stick just no a flathead. Have a look at Tea Gardens boat ramp Drag a net near cleaning area .Shrimp the best bait I have used 2 back to back.Drop kicks call them prawns similar but Ive caught shrimp in berry 35-to 40mm and released of cause
Another great video. Caught a metre flathead many years ago in the Swansea channel using a whole pilchard. Is there a better time of tide to catch live poddys as they seem fickle or do you spend a bit of time beforehand berleying as they are killer baits for flathead.
@@chrispbacon4480 For all the hassle of live bait, I salt some pillies and dip them in tuna oil, then stick them on gangs. If you use a live bait, regardless of when, what or where, cut or snip off a third or quarter of the tail, it makes them kick more and send out more vibration through the water. Even just a quarter makes a big difference and they still stay alive for a long time.
@@huntersfishingadventures5324 Yes, the saying about patience is rubbish. The top fishermen try a spot for 10 - 15mins and if nothing, they leave and try another. STRUCTURE is a major thing. Always ask yourself WHY!? would a fish be there, read the structure. Most fish follow the bank and most fishermen etc cast out as par as possible past it. Google fish calenders and you can get a page that will give you the best times to fish the location you put in, moon phase, tide, time of day etc.
Another great video. Just a question on catching live poddys, do you berley before you start and is there a preferred tide as they seem fickle at times.
Great fishing mate. It’s really fantastic to watch you release those big Flathead a credit to you. A lot of fishos would not let them go? Our fishing rule is any flathead over 60cm goes back and we achieve that quite regularly, very satisfying!!
Thankyou mate, I have the same rules 60 generally my cutoff. I feel guilty keeping any bigger, very satisfying watching them swim off. See you on the next one 👍
Great clip . It had everything . The crabs, big lizards , a good burp , messy boat and a few digs with a mate
😂🤣 yewww 🤙
Those Blue Swimmers look awesome, taste even better great work young man

Do you think one side of The Rip Bridge is better than the other? and if so, which one? P.S. Congrats!
I have a soft spot for Mosquito Bay caught alot of quality fish there. I find alot more action on Woy Woy side both have benifets.

Cheers mate, I think you know how I feel about that release method, not the best technique

how do you rig up the live baits?
When drifting through the nose it keeps them alive best 👌
Good stuff mate keep it up.
👍
how do u get mullet
Bread float and a small hook
Prefer garfish and mullet over flathead any day .I like kilo plus sea run mullet.
Mullet and garfish bring back good memories for me I do really enjoy it
You need a bigger boat or a twin hull dingy with a 5 hp and trawl or use it as net boat
Amazing
How the fk did you find that rod. Nice one. Haha
I messaged you on Facebook bro about charter
How do you tell there male while there still in water?
Generally males don't get bigger than 70cm it more of a guess.
