- July 18, 2023 - Anchored in 50', 3:1, W of the island, W of the waterfall. Excellent view of the falls and fish weir. Salmon skipped across the water, almost leaping into the kayak. Locals tied their boats off the steep rocks next to the main falls and the narrower cascade to the R to dip net. Each swipe brought up 1-3 salmon. Most limited out in 15 minutes. An old FS cabin is in the trees between the 2 falls. A wooden staircase is in a wooded indent in the SE corner of the bay, L of the wide waterfall. A short boardwalk trail ends at a fork. Either direction leads to the lake, but is rough and steep in spots. A sow and cubs were spotted. A 10* location.
