Well i can say this you are correct in that regard. When one is lacking that connection with someone they look for other ways to establish that. Some go deeper down the rabbit hole then others. Just simply coming back home and knowing there is someone there waiting for you just sets one at ease.
So much anime is about lonely men. How many fantasy animes are there about a male protagonist getting sent to another world where all of his problems have gone away, especially his issue with female companionship? In this new world, he has more ready and willing options than he can handle. Now, look at real life in Japan. The thing about Japan is that they truly know their audience and they cater to that.
To be honest, I cannot relate with the loneliness of men. It's sad that people feel lonely. I wish everyone, including the women, to find that special someone in their life whether it's in the form of a lover or a dear friend

You should respect your partner, their interests, you should be willing to listen, to understand, accept, change, understand that you can be wrong sometimes and put aside your own stuff to be there. People can love each other, but they fall apart because they can`t build a relationship. Love is responsibility. Relationships are much more than just love and it is harder. All people should learn how to build them up and mantain them in good shape. Nobody is entitled to relationship, they are built, not given.

I see this thrown around alot and when asked, the response generally boils down to “men need be better and stop being creepy” which is a bit of a lazy answer because that’s on the same level as “humans need to stop murdering each other.” I mean yeah, but how are we going to get there?
