The only thing that was done by Irish and other people was in Britain when homeless people asked for food on the night of Samhain, which is where trick or treating is from. Can't remember the god's name, but he doesn't kill people. He protects the dead and makes sure they continue to rest in peace. The Druids would gather to thank him for doing that.
