no gloves, no vice, no eye protection, shoes falling apart, not even a bench to work on for many of the steps. all done by a guy who is in better physical shape than 95% of Americans, and who is equally top tier in terms of being facially attractive - yet here he is, doing THIS job.
what a different world.
respect.
Til he dies at 35 from all the chemicals, oil, filth, hazards.
The oil is even better when used a 2nd time… same with the worn out parts. And the Bondo, my god.
The best is mixing all different brand of oils..Red, green..... 20w, 40w....85w......etc.
Yep it can’t cause cavitation with old oil… Smh 🙄
This is the Bilstein manufacturing plant
Lmao…yes!
😂
🤣
Been there, and so...no. Gabriel plant. Im one of 6 shock absorber reconditioning companies in Australia. Most of this is correct, but I cringe at other points.

I’m still not sure what they rebuilt? All he did was take it apart, clean the parts, fill with the old oil, and put it back together. Aside from looking better, why would it perform any different
They are cheating ,selling this rebuilt by imitating new.
Waste of money.
Always Buy new ones freshly manufactured lot from a reputed store with guarantee.
Seriously.
I was thinking it was probably better off before being molested and cross contaminated. 👍
Tengo dudas que ese amortiguador funcione....
It's the seals, I believe. They're usually thin, Teflon cylindrical sections, but it looks like he stretched an o-ring onto the piston. I'm pretty sure that's what he was pounding home the first time he put the top back on. I've done it that way for hydraulic cylinders on out-of-production convertible tops. Buna-N is a perfect o-ring material, and it'll take the shape of the interior space for a nice seal.
The dirty oil is interesting: newer shocks and struts use tightly toleranced valves, so a little grit would undo all his efforts.
Replacing the seals and gaskets are the key here I think. Too bad they wear no eye protection, masks or gloves.
Thank you lord for giving me the opportunity to be in the usa and hope the best for this people !
Pretty fascinating. I always wondered why they don't work on a bench. Being bent over like that all day has got to be brutal on the back !
We also eat like that sitting, we are used to it🤣
@@deniz271 You must be built different. I and many others would be having back surgery if we did that too long.
I was thinking the same. FFS get the tools and parts off the floor and out of the dirt.
it is the culture of sub cotinent and feel comfortable
yes iv thought the same thing ..i will not ever work on the flore..
Don't worry the oil inside the shock is not heated at 350 degree when is welded and it will work perfect!!
Oxy-acetylene torches are over 3,000°C… I’m amazed they can perform that process without damaging the oil and seals he just (presumably) replaced.
@@truthsmilesthey can't
A cosmetic restoration of a still junk shock. How truly unremarkable.

I have huge respects to these hardworking men
No respect at all, they are maybe hardworking but they fake a rebuild job with old parts and used oil. It’s now even worse and more dangerous then before the butchering.
Respect??????they work in the dirt, old used gaskets, old used oil,,,come on
They live in a world where it's far too expensive to buy new and the only option is to repair however good or bad that is. Just imagine that!
@@gerarteuben3333 Your just spoiled and baby fed
Me said , hard working men , I see them working hard .
No globes, no glasses, no boots, no mask. This is amazing 🗿
Amazing workmanship abilities. Excelent work.
I from El Salvador I did get trained like that repair all when I come to USA, was so easy yes change to new parts I was the hardest worker in the shop
Traduciré por vos :” I am from El Salvador , back home I was trained just like this , coming to the US it is easy to replace it “ 👍
Saludos de otro Salvadoreño.
Nice new idea 💡 nice good job thank you for your sharing this vedio
i hope the people appreciate your workmanship!
Very nice weld
Thats crazy how they take all that time to bondo sand and paint but not to change the fluid
Or even care about the oil seeping out the area being welded.
I like how they rebuild everything, but I'm not even sure they understand what they do, like putting body filler on the weld and ruining the rod seal (which I don't recall seeing being replaced) sanding it on a drill with one end of the shock not spinning...??? I'd rather have apparent welds...
its all about the looks
Is exactly why America and the world has so. Many recalls on everything
I find it fascinating that in all these eastern workshop videos, everyone is always working on the ground, and or using their feet or a big toe as part of the tools.
For safety reasons workbenches are forbidden Pakistan.
This way nothing can fall down from any tables and chopping off some toes.
But i don't know the reasons why toilet bowles are also forbidden.
@@horstmuller7512 😂
What's amazing about all this repair videos doing work on the floor or in the street it's not the craftmanship but the awesome hair all the guys have
God bless man, parents do a lot of sacrifices only for the bright future of their kids... and a lot of kids don't want to know about it!!!
These are probably better than the Gabriel shocks I bought for my semi
These probably are the same people Gabriel gets to make their shocks for a dollar a piece. So they can sell them to you for 200 a piece.
@@fernleytire I wouldn’t doubt it. Gabriel have only lasted around 5-6 months before they started leaking
Amazon specials right there!
Hadir nyimak boss ku suksesselalu 👍👍👍💪
YOU EITHER DO A GOOD JOB OR A PUNJOB. THIS IS FOR SURE A PUNJOB!
Very funny that it really does look like new Bilsteins. Bizarre process tho, since when did you fill the shock up to the top, with old thin oil?
Seams like a healthy job, no safety precautions
Itu minyak boleh guna semula?
Helping to reduce waste and environment contamination.
O Belchior virou reformador de amortecedores!!!!😂😂😂😂😂
Eres un genio mi querido hermano, te mando un abrazo fuerte.
So that's how Old Man Emu shocks are made.

Good job 🎉
True Ecology keeping old stuff alive
i am curious about the price of new and rebuilding one, can anyone tell me? this work is incredibly respectful.👏👏
The first pothole in the road that brazing and bondo is going to let loose on that shock and Krishna going to end up in the ditch.
Pretty interesting, cut open and dump oil out , chisel it apart, mix in some quality Pakistani sand, pound it back reinstall the old oil and braze it shut. Wire brush and bondo then paint. They will never know the difference.
Seeing that drill press get coated with yellow paint (overspray) caused me physical pain.
Just why?
This must be where Monroe shocks come from. This explains they ride worse than my worn out old ones.
how I can contact with the technical person ?

What exactly was the point of this work? Looked like all they did was pound out some dents and repaint it, could have at least put fresh oil in. Oh and I like the overspray all over his drill press motor 😂.
Still an interesting video though
Nice safety shoes.
Yes they are
they are simultaneously careful and reckless
