When it comes to the Draft, get McMillan over Hunter or get two smart tackles, get a receiver in free agency. So many dumb penalties are killing us. We need to find tackles in the draft that have high IQs. Maybe not the strongest but very smart and they can train them to be much stronger.
Jacob Infante on Xavier Restrepo: “Hunter would be an upgrade for the Patriots’ offense if selected, but unless they plan on keeping him on offense full-time, they’d still need to improve their WR room. Xavier Restrepo is a sure-handed, twitchy slot who’s quick out of his breaks and can get open against both man and zone.”
We need him so bad. Make Mayo the DC. Find another OC, maybe call one up from a high scoring college team if we can't get McDaniel's back. I'm sure we sign Vrabel McDaniels would want to come back too.
@@FourLuckyLeafs you sound like the same people in Detroit that said the same thing about Dan campbell for two years straight. It’s a rebuild. What did you expect. For a first time coach who has a 22-year-old rookie quarterback. He’s doing OK. You have to give it time guys.
@@youtubeconnollyfamily You ok bruh? No need to attack me. Was just sharing my thoughts. "You sound like the peop" shut the hell up. It's not that serious
Travis Hunter: CB. He and Gonzalez for the next 5-10 years would be the best CB duo in the NFL. Then about 5 snaps per game on offense at strategic times
Hunter in 1st(Play him at WR!), then OT in 2nd, WR early in 3rd, OL or athletic TE that can block and catch with 2nd 3rd pick (Helps both OL and Drake gets another talented option.)Defense with the rest of the picks. Are we sure Polk and Baker are busts? I Haven't seen enough of either in games. They may be a better No. 2 or 3 WR.? (Maybe even trade back into late first and grab quality OT)
Obviously, the draft has many moving parts, and predicting what other teams will do and what they will give up is unpredictable. That being said, if the Patriots move back, they better get a huge haul and make sure they have a target that no other team will leapfrog to get.
How does the possible acquisition of Tee Higgins in free agency impact your draft board? If Tee and Travis are WR’s 1 and 2, I don’t see investing more than 1 late round pick on another WR. To many other holes to fill on both sides of the ball.
Let's go back to what we used to do, sign free agents to fill our needs then draft the best available players. Our current problem is our recent drafts have all sucked.
Im sure people will hate this take. I believe Travis Hunter woild be better served at CB. I think he could be elite at either position, however the hits he would take increases st WR and I think it's much more difficult to find an elite lock down corner than it is to find an elite WR. why would they get restrepo if douglas does the same things as him? Sure he could be an upgrade from Douglas but the team has too many holes to fill other than a potential slight upgrade at slot receiver
I agree on trading down this class is not great for “elite” talent if they could pick up an extra 2nd and 3rd rd pick that opens up a lot of different scenarios. If they go down to six in a swap with the Raiders. They could take one of the top lineman but that’s boring so I’d go Ashton Jeanty. This guy is plug and play. Even if they have the same O line they were able to run the ball well at times this year and Jeanty is a game changer. He is also a very good WR There are some interesting players projected in the second so if a guy like Jahade Barron or Mike Green is available take one of them and with the extra 2nd rd pick they could address O line
Happy Friday, home grown New England pats fan I’m extremely interested in this draft but I’m not bought into Travis hunter I feel like he gives me Neal Harry vibes. I hope we trade our #2 pick for draft capital. I’ve watched a lot of Miami hurricanes this year and Xavier he’s been the driving force behind cam Ward
Playing hunter on both sides of the ball is a no no. Will have trouble drafting WR anyway, plus learning two playbooks for offense & defence maybe too much. Could occasionally play both sides ball when needed but not full-time as it would be too many snaps per game.
If we look at Elliot and Mayo approach based their first season together in there current position. Elliot would look for OLine in Free agency and see who out there that available for other position. Gibson came from the Washington Commanders. Hooper was also another free agency that worked out. Kj Osborn was really only one that didn't work out. We needed weapons and these has worked maybe not number 1's but they done there share of heavy lifting. With that in mind OLine would attempt to be addressed with free agency. If Wolfe can fill the OLine in free agency. With the number 2 pick they would pick Hunter. They would then get one or two for the offense then address the pass rush / Linebacker group as our current guys struggle against the run.
He’s a slot receiver. We don’t need a slot receiver. Pop is plenty good enough as our slot guy. Especially when we get an actual number 1 receiver. It opens up a lot more for him. 😊ly
I think they need to draft 2 WR no matter what personally id prefer tet and Savion Williams since they’re both over 6’5 and are amazing deep threats who can get separation but don’t need it cause they are so good at making contested catches
This is the scenario. In FA if we do sign Tee Higgins, and then get a solid LT and RT. In the draft trade down to get more draft capital. Then use that pick to either help Gonzo with another solid CB2 or an Edge rusher. But also Barhmore is also out with blood clots. So maybe a DT like Maason Graham? Because we do not know when he will be coming back or if this is going to be a consistent issue. Then the other scenario is if we don’t land any FA, then get a WR in the first then the other rounds draft two OTs. But we really need to sign a veteran LT and RT. Because throwing a rookie OL is never good. I also do not like the Travis Hunter pick. He already has too much media drama that comes along with him. The patriots do not need that. Restpro sounds like a good slot WR which would be nice, but we need a big bodied WR1. I wouldn’t mind taking him in the later rounds.
It think if the draft board stays the same we could trade down to 9 with the jets and Eat them take a qb then we take a o lineman and maybe get Garrett Wilson from the jets
I think a lot of people are forgetting the fact that this wr free agency is pretty decent. If we draft Hunter that going to be a draw. It will be enticing to players like Higgins or G Wilson who will be looking for new homes. Maye has proven to be hot as a rookie with limited help. Not to mention other players that Hunter could draw from any position! A lot of you have tunnel vision instead of a broad view.
Why arent we talking about the fact the patriots WILL absolutely trade away their first round pick. Who it will go to and how bad does that other team want it. Someone may likely give up their first round and third rounder and a late pick for possible first overall.
The Pats probably aren't winning the superbowl next year, and they should get the best players available and figure out the game plan from there. It's a good class for Corner, Safety, Edge, DT... if a great OT or WR falls in your lap, great, but I think this is the time for the Patriots to be realistic and build for the future. They lost a lot of close games this year, and with Maye at QB and a few real upgrades (which should be pretty easy) it's pretty likely they'll be better.
Pats could trade that #2 or 3 overall pick to someone moving a few spots down and picking up DT stud Mason Graham, a major need position with Barmore's future now in doubt. The Pats D-line is in fact cringe and the LBs are far from a strength position with only Bentley and Tavai decent starting types...the others are all back-ups. The Pats should be able to get a first rounder this year as well as a high second rounder for their first pick and certainly a 2nd rounder minimum in next year's draft. Restrepo would be a good choice at WR in the late 2nd to early 3 round. At least one ready to start OT in the 2nd round is a a must.
They go TH, I can like that, but I would pass on Will Campbell, and pick up Beau Stephen's from Iowa in round 2......Athos respective position, he's the next Tristen Wirfs
Just have to wait til after free agency. Draft needs will be more clear. Restrepo is good but mcconkey is better more explosive. Just hope polk and or baker can get better in year 2. Cant give up on em after their rookie years just cuz pats have had such a terrible track record. A lot of wrs in the league that are good have bad rookie seasons. Nope that narrative is what gets teams in trouble with drafts constantly. You just pick the best possible player with your first pick. Especially on our team we need pretty much everything. Can you really say our d line is good to not target? The two top guys in edge Abdul carter or interior mason graham should also be in consideration
How about we take who we should take instead of trying to act like we're smarter than everyone else and trade back then screw up more picks. Our record not drafting who Bill Belichek wants isn't very good.
If Travis Hunter wants to play both ways...I say let him!!! The Patriots are going to have him on his rookie contract 4-5 years, (possible 6yrs Franchise Tag) then let him go, because he'll be asking for too much on his second contract!!!
You’re crazy if you think the Pats draft WR in 3 and 4 after taking Hunter in rd 1. Personally, unless they draft Hunter or McMillan in rd 1, I don’t want them drafting another receiver unless it’s a 6th or 7th rd best available player scenario. This team has enough young WRs and it’s too early to call Polk and Baker busts. They are rookies. Look at Boutte last year. He was labeled a bust and now he’s a developing player. Douglas is also a good young receiver. That’s 4 young guys. This team needs a true #1 receiver that can lead the WR unit. Go hard after Tee Higgins or another young veteran via FA or trade or draft Hunter or McMillan. If you do that, you trade back into the late 1st rd for someone like Josh Simmons or similar OT (whoever they have rated high). That will cost you those 2nd, 3rd picks. The middle rounds, you need to improve at DT and IOL as Barmore may not be available and Edwards is coming off injury and could retire. Last year the goal was get the QB. This year, it’s #1 WR, fix the OL and rebuild the DL.
Listen, we need talent and i don't care where it is I'm sorry. Look at every roster spot besides QB and CB1 and everyone knows we need help where we can get it. Travis is the #1 draft prospect and if we have the chance to get him, then get him. I think people need to realize after many failed drafts and late first rounds you need to take the best player available. If we make the right moves in FA then drafting Travis won't be that bad from a roster stand point
Yes, I would draft that wide receiver. but if that kid is that good. I don't think he's going to make it to the 3rd round. somebody is going to take him before the 3rd round. and Travis Hunter probably won't even make it through half of the 1st round. Patriots should take Travis Hunter in the 1st. round and then go after that other receiver in the 2nd round or move back and get a couple extra picks, and then go after that other explosive receiver. I don't remember what his name is or how to spell it. I think it's exeter ?
I apologize, but I really can't entertain the idea of another similar option. I visualize the ideal player as being around five feet ten and a half inches tall. What I truly need is a more substantial target, someone with excellent catching abilities and reliable hands. I really don't want to discuss any more of the same; I keep coming back to that height in my mind. Please, I urge you to present me with a larger target who possesses outstanding skills in securing the ball.
Tbh trade Stevenson, Pop, Henry, Dugger and Bourne for draft capital and fill in this roster appropriately. Reatrepo cannot function next to Pop and just has so much more upside. And everyone else mentioned is simply not good enough for what Drake needs or doesn’t fit his timeline
*Patriots MUST address both their Offensive Tackle(Left and Right) AND their WR positions via Free Agency. If they focus on filling these roles in the draft then this team is screwed.*
Trade back and go o-line. We can't develop receivers ever. We should wr sign em instead and not Higgins, i dont think hes a #1 and he'll be expensive. We need more picks to fill more holes.. we need to speed up the rebuild because we stunk recent years drafting we have to sacrifice the shiny early 1st round pick for a kings ransom.
I wouldn't take hunter.. . They have no choice. Trade out😮 get some elses first, this and next yr maybe or 2nd.. plus maybe a 3 . 4. Pick this season.idkn't know, but no hunter plz.... He's great , but this team needs human body's
Travis Hunter isn’t a record breaking receiver. Everyone is over hyping him because he played well on both sides of the ball. He doesn’t even crack the top ten receiver list. If we take a receiver with our first pick it needs to be Tet McMillian.
@13bangbang16 ok so.. that still doesn't replace the fact he has better stats as a wr. Smh. And let's see t mac cover him see what happens. Every good even elite corner gets burned. Let's see how ge adjusts in the nfl
I’m trying really hard to support your content but I’m sorry so many of your takes are terrible. Double dip at WR after grabbing Travis and signing Tee Higgins or Godwin? It’s too early to call Polk and Baker busts… just is. Plus, with so many positions of need, why would we not just take best player available at every selection. Like the whole premise of this is ridiculous. Now i do think we HAVE to go Travis with our first pick, but so much else is uncertain given the fact that we’re presumably signing 2-3 starters in the OL, some pass rush help, and Tee Higgins in the off season. Plus Andrews comes back so literally that might be enough right there by switching them around to more natural positions. I think we need to spend every bit of our $135M in FA on premier guys with front loaded contracts where the cal hit gets smaller every year. THEN we draft as if best player available is the Y axis and positions of need are listed/ ranked on the X axis. I’d rather grab a better player at the 3rd most needed position than forcing a pick because it perceived as a need
We still haven't seen our last year pick i know he's gona be something. We need guys that can go up and get the ball and t mac will be it and getting Higgins will be a plus but is he really healthy? We not sure why he is sitting
Grab Hunter. Use him primarily as a corner. With Hunter, Gonzalez, Marcus Jones and Austin manning the secondary the Patriots can send five or six guys in the pass rush constantly. That's nightmare time for opposing quarterbacks. Address the offensive line plus wide receiver in free agency and day two of the draft.

What if the Pats took Nick Nash from San Jose State?
Hell no we could take him if he in the 7th round any earlier no
@SameerSultan-jd4ul that's what I was saying maybe we can get him in the 7th round
They’re going to be linked to every free agent receiver personally I hope they try to go after DK Metcalf. I think Seattle is ready to trade him.
I Typed Allie Barefoot To Find This Video It Puts Her Name In The Algorithm But I Just Want This Season To Be Over Please End The Torture
Would you draft Xavier Restrepo? Type ‘Y’ for Yes, Type ‘N’ for No
N, Get Tre Harris instead.
No way son ...
Pats get Tee Higgins
Tbh trade Stevenson, Pop, Henry, Dugger and Bourne for draft capital and fill in this roster appropriately. Reatrepo cannot function next to Pop and just has so much more upside. And everyone else mentioned is simply not good enough for what Drake needs or doesn’t fit his timeline
better hope Elliot Wolff is gone!! or hee will blow this draft like last year
The need a wide receiver McMillian and trade with the Giants
For the amount of busts they have drafted at WR don't get too cute again.
6-8 lineman short
CB for THunter
*Patriots MUST address both their Offensive Tackle(Left and Right) AND their WR positions via Free Agency. If they focus on filling these roles in the draft then this team is screwed.*
We ain’t getting any big names in free agency… we have to build and hit in draft
Take Hunter...Period
Trade back and go o-line. We can't develop receivers ever. We should wr sign em instead and not Higgins, i dont think hes a #1 and he'll be expensive. We need more picks to fill more holes.. we need to speed up the rebuild because we stunk recent years drafting we have to sacrifice the shiny early 1st round pick for a kings ransom.
With Bills playing scrubs and tanking wk 18, Pats will win 4th game, and draft position may drop to 8th or worse.
Bro this is an L take. And please stop the subtle Travis Hunter hate. We get it. You don’t want NE to draft him. It’s a bad take
I wouldn't take hunter..
Are u talking in college? Because he's got more catches and more tds that t McMillan. So not sure what ur saying here.
@@danielperry6557They just be yapping & don't know 💩about anything, & just re-regurgitate what they heard other clueless people say
Why not pair up Travis n gonzo? Him being a Wr a +, we got the most cap n more rounds for WRs
@@danielperry6557 Tmac torched him multiple times
Trade down and draft Luther burden
Absolutely
Nah he's small we have dugles... trade down get t mac and have Higgins as well dugles we should be fine..
We dont need douglas and burden
@ he’s 6ft
We still haven't seen our last year pick i know he's gona be something. We need guys that can go up and get the ball and t mac will be it and getting Higgins will be a plus but is he really healthy? We not sure why he is sitting
Not with the non head coach material Mayo at the helm...Mayo couldn't coach an all star team...
Do not draft hunter
Grab Hunter. Use him primarily as a corner. With Hunter, Gonzalez, Marcus Jones and Austin manning the secondary the Patriots can send five or six guys in the pass rush constantly. That's nightmare time for opposing quarterbacks. Address the offensive line plus wide receiver in free agency and day two of the draft.
Corner back
