    You're not fucked in the head Baron, no you're one of the few sane ones.
    The insane majority like to convince us we're mad, but your eyes are open young man. I only stumbled upon your channel a couple of days ago, and I've spam watched all your vids in that time as they are massively entertaining, but from even from your earliest vids I inwardly predicted that some form of breakdown, or as we say oop north, a shed collapse was in the pipeline.
    I wasn't surprised when you announced your separation (saddened but not shocked), but times of calamity and upheaval, as traumatic as they can be will often bring about a catharsis, a purgative to flush all the bullshit from your life, which in turn allows you to observe, feel and think about the universe in new ways, ways that other minds still lashed to the yolk of convention will never comprehend, and think ill of you for.
    Visualise a top down view of a million people all stood in a crowd and all uniformly looking at the back of the head in front of them, now imagine your own face in the midst of them, but looking directly upwards. That's you right there mother fuckerrrrr!
    Welcome to the universe Baron, it knows and loves you!

    Here's a question on evolution for you, who has evolved further, a girl on a bicycle who rides through a red light and turns right at a left only junction or a guy on a motorbike who missed all that but did noticed she was wearing a sparkly dress?

    i could have been born anywhere in the world and ended up in every possible scenario possible for a human to encounter. this gives me a problem with picking one particular religion, and actually believing it. i personally like to think that our spirits or consciousness "level up" and that we reincarnate and develop a bit spiritually each lifetime. for all i know i could have been you. our bodies could simply be avatars. although we may not remember details of our previous lifetimes, they, or we are there for us to help guide and interpret our situations. the reason we wonder through this life with confusion and disconnect from a true understanding is because we are a mere fraction of everything we really are. that being said, i don't think at this point we are worthy of fully understanding the meaning of our reality, simply because we do not deserve it. hand me the world on a silver platter and what would it be? nothing. hand me the meaning of creation and what would it be? nothing. after all, what is success without a problem to overcome? i feel like this universe is a metaphorical embryo for us all, and once we complete our development of true intelligence, understanding, love, and consciousness, that we will be born into, or introduced to something greater. what exactly? i can't tell you. and if you are laughing at this then i just want you to understand one thing; your theory is probably just as dumb and wild as mine.

  • @doritowarrior
    @doritowarrior 10 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Baron, the whole ''we use 10% of our brain's capacity'' quote is utter bollocks, made by Hollywood to support its movies. And yes, I believe in ''faith'' as well, although I just prefer to call it the unified law of the universe which basically comes down to being the ultimate model which can predict everything that's ever going to happen based on physics. In that sense, everything that we'll ever do and achieve is already fixed. So indeed seeming randomness is merely us not understanding what's going on. But I do not believe in a purpose or any ''why are we here'' crap. We are here solely because of the causal chain that started at the Big Bang (much like leaves sailing on a puff of wind. We can calculate why every leave ends up where it falls down, but there is no other reason for it being there than that causal relationship).
    So yeah, what I'm trying to say is we are here, therefore randomness is out of the question (because of seriously small chances), but this doesn't mean we have any purpose or a goal.

      Come on mate, that`s not the point of these vlogs. This is one of his vids where he`s just riding home on his bike and letting his mind and voice roam free. It`s not scripted or planned in any way. It`s not intended to be a lecture or even a clear opinion. It`s just what occurs to him as he`s riding happily along. As he says quite often, he gets distracted and loses his train of thought, and goes off on tangent after tangent, or remembers the point or thought he had been on and, lo and behold, gets sidetracked again.
      Sorry to go on here, but I just wanted to reply to your good self and some others who made similar comments to yours.
      There is a glaring contradiction in your comment. You say that you are agreeing with coolgr33k. In fact you are not. He is being flippant and expressing his enjoyment of Baron`s monologues, while you are clearly not as you found it such *painstaking and uneducated drivel.* Your words.

    • @Mikolaj_u
      @Mikolaj_u 10 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Mark Shorrocks
      Here's his comment: "As a scientist this was too painful to watch.."
      Clear now? or do you want me to draw you a sketch? Jeez..
      Besides, I never said baron is not entertaining. On the contrary, his moaning and whinging about his day to day life is quite entertaining to watch. I've subbed his channel since ages ago and have always liked his videos. One time I express disinterest because he goes on and on about things he clearly hasn't got a slightest clue about, and I get moaned at immediately.
      Again, if he did a tiny bit of homework and looked at the issue from a couple of angles (e.g.. physics and religion), this would be much more interesting to watch.
      Baron yells, swears and shouts at people he disagrees with on the road all the time. I have no problem calling this video a painstaking, uneducated drivel.

    A new side to BVG,the deep side.
    I often question life and try to find answer for my existence, but I can never put my finger on it,I'm not religious,I don't believe in religion, I sway toward the evolution theory, Big Bang etc.
    one thing that I always always find astonishing is that when I get talking to people wether it's family or friends or whoever, people just seem to be content with the little they know about life, they don't search for answers or question of our existence. When I look into a clear night sky I'm always amazed by it, and wonder what's out there, is it just us, it can't be surely, just us in this never ending expanse. Other people look at the sky and see nothing.
    That amazes me also.
    Love the video barron,real deep for a Thursday.

      and one more thing - its this 'science' righteousness that frustrates me and your comment about not talking about stuff we know little about is just a shame. ***** I didn't mean it as an insult, I'm not saying I know any more than you do. But what made me write the comment was when you mentioned about humans being the only intelligent species, because there were others, I can't remember the details but one of the species either killed the other(s) or they interbreeded and became a new species (humans), probably a bit of both.

    We exist. God exists and is the perpetual 'evolver' if you will. Look into the three monotheistic religions - especially Islam and Christianity. There is only one God and our meaning in life is to worship God alone. Also, if I may offer an analogy for life after death. Contemplate the dead earth in the winter, and after it's lifelessness how it is resurrected.

    We are here to love God and to give glory to Him. To fear Him who made the heavens, the earth, and everything therein is, and to love our fellow man. To understand why we are here you have to go to the bible and find out that there was a great controversy between Jesus who is God and Satan. And we learn that man fell when our first parents were tricked into transgressing the law of God. From that time we stopped walking with God ie sin separated us from God. So sin is a virus. The earth is the quarantine. And Jesus Christ is the cure.
    So, I know many of you are going to say bullocks. But before you go on. Sit down and consider the following FACT : the bible was written by God! How do we know? One word? Prophecy. The bible is the only book in the world to have prophetically predict what has happened in man's/Earth's history in advance!!!!! For example, there are tablets found in Palestine that talk about the crucifixion of Christ by Pilate just as the bible talked about almost 2000 years ago! Not only that, but two separate secular Roman historians have recorded the event Tiberus and Josephus. Everytime the man has doubted the bible it seems that scientists, archaeologists and historians discover evidence that it is indeed true. Doubting Thomases used to doubt 'oh there was never a King Herod' then archeologists find Herod's tomb. The bible is so accurate in fact, that many historians rely on it to work out events in man's history. Recently, scientists from Harvard said that the odds that one man could have fulfilled just 8 of the more than 40 prophecies of Christ is more than 1 in 1x10^33 or 1 in 1000000000000000000000000000000000!!! In other words, the odds that the bible is a fake written by a couple of Jewish Mystics in their spare time is more than the odds that like you winning the lottery every single time for the rest of the year. Wrap that around your brain! Hey, Baron...if that is your name then we have something in common! :) I used to think as you did...but having studied physics at U of T I just knew that all of this - the world and the laws governing matter, etc etc was evidence that there must be a God! Why? Because no matter how you look at it, evolution doesn't explain how all of *this* came about. Where did the rocks come from? Who created the stars? It didn't just happen by accident!!!?!?!! And the theory that we were made by aliens falls flat on its face because then who made the aliens? Now, you might say you could say the same about God. Yes. Yes you could. But my God loves you and me and the God that I know - that we know - came to die for our sins - so that sin could be removed and forgiven. Imagine that - the Creator of the Universe loves you and me so much that He came to earth donning human flesh to die for us, so that sin could be removed and we could go back to Heaven and the loving arms of God. So the next question is - how? And when does all of this happen? And the answer is in the Holy KJV bible, ... In Revelation. We must all believe in Jesus Christ. We must confess with our mouths openly that we believe in God, the Father Almighty, that through the power and blood sacrifice of His Son Jesus Christ that He died on the Cross of Cavalry. Accept that He died for your sins on the Cross of Cavalry and that He rose again. Accept the Law of God - the Ten Commandments of which all our laws are based upon. And the then follow them. And when you transgress the law - when you sin then you need to go and ask God for forgiveness in prayer that through the blood sacrifice of His Son Jesus Christ, you ask God for forgiveness. If you sincerely repent of your sins in prayer and ask God for forgiveness - He will forgive you. After you do all of these things - after you confessed with your mouth that you believe with all of your heart the sinner's prayer, then go pick up a KJV bible (all other versions have been changed to demote Jesus Christ with as many as 1200 changes in the case of the NIV with whole verses missing from them), find a SDA church (this is the only church that follows all the laws of God including the fourth commandment - they keep the seventh day Sabbath - and the testimony of Jesus Christ which is prophecy) in your area and then get baptized. The Church of Rome is not a Christian church even though they claim to be. We know this because the Roman Catholic Church is identified in scripture as the Beast of Revelation that has persecuted the saints of the most High and blasphemed His name. Ie the Church of Rome pillaged, raped, murdered and destroyed 100 million innocent men, women and children for crimes such as owning a bible during the dark ages and through its Inquisition. Everything about Catholicism is unbiblical. For example, they claim to forgive sin...something only God can do through prayer! The Pope calls himself god on earth! That he has and never will make a mistake or sin! That he is infallible and that he has the right to rule over everyone one of us telling us what we can and cannot believe, think or do! They style him 'God - his holiness..' This cannot be. My bible tells me all men were created equal!
    Contact me if anyone wishes to discuss this personally @ pbarc552@rogers.com
    But here is a list of videos on TH-cam that I highly recommend:
    Dr. Walter Veith - Jesus man or messiah?
    Dr. Walter Veith - Where Jesus Walked

    Lovely rabble.
    But the "it's too random/too improbable" argument doesn't really work all that well.
    I'm having a hard time putting into words why, but it boils down to that there's no way for us to see the other side of the case. We can only see it from the perspective of a planet with life, not the trillions of planets out there without life.

    That was the most enjoyable video I have seen from you, and I watch them all. So you know what this means don't you? You'll have to work harder and sleep less, more often. Stepping outside the numbed and dumbed down everyday routine, brings a person to an edge; a lookout of sorts for the psyche. In the immediate sense then, maybe that's what life is all about -- find your edges to get the clearest view of the abyss, explore it, and resist drawing firm conclusions ;-)
    Now get back to work :-)

    I've been watching and listening to a lot of physicists and learning a little about the way we view the world. We see everything because we see the light reflecting off of the objects in are environment. So, we are seeing the past whenever we look at any object that is in our environments. Light travels at a set speed (although that speed is really, really fast), and it takes time for that light to hit our retinas. For example, the light from the sun takes eight minutes to reach earth; therefore, the sun we see is eight minutes old, so technically, it is in the past. That's something to ponder!

    you use most of your brain most of the time you just can't use all of it at the same time. if we did it would be like opening everything on your computer and running every program all at once. the notion that we can only use 10% of our brain is rubbish. Awesome video as always love watching them :)

  • @cgavin1
    @cgavin1 10 ปีที่แล้ว

    Good video. :) I think what you are describing is ego-centrism. You conceptualize everything in terms of how it relates to you. The best example is the pre-Copernican view that the Earth was the center of the heavens etc. If we follow your rationale there we see why God is neccessary, along with fate, predetermination etc. Its not a bad thing and I am not in any mocking it. Its just a very obvious end result of an inhability (subscious usually) to accept irrelevance. I think a good starting point is maybe examining your personality - what is personality? What constitutes 'me'? Am I a unique soul born (or reborn) or am I just the sum of my collective life experience? If my parents had loved me more, if I'd had more and better friends growing up, would I still be 'me'? Or someone else entirely? You can chart a personalities development, its successes (in terms of developmental milestones) and its disasterous setbacks, measured in trauma, that results in dysfunction or maladjustment. There is no fate per se, but there are many different potential outcomes of every action. Again if you subscribe to ego-centrism, that can be rationalized in those terms. If you don't then personalities, that bit we term consciousness or 'soul', is as utterly irrelevant and random as everything else.

    Descartes mate. Rene bloody Descartes. Blew my mind. Bloke came up with the idea for The Matrix 400 years before Keanu Reeves. When he says "I think therefore I am", he's basically saying the only thing that's certain is, even if it's all a dream and we're in the matrix, at least we know we're real, cos something has to be dreaming. That and Reeves had squint sunglasses for THREE WHOLE FILMS and no-one told him to bend the legs to compensate for his wonky ears. Top vid.

    There's a saying in a book series that I read that I think a lot of people would subscribe to when talking about free will/fate. (copied directly from page 2 of Sherrilyn Kenyon's Infinity)
    "Destiny is a freight train rolling along on a set course that only the conductor knows. When we get to the railroad crossing in our car, we can choose to stop and wait for the train to pass by, or try to pull out inf front of it and beat that bad boy across. That choice is free will.
    If we choose to rush ahead, the car we're in might stall on the tracks. We can then choose to try and start the car or wait for the train to plow into us. Or we can get out and run, and fight the destiny of the train slamming into us and killing us where we stand. If we choose to run, our foot could get caught in the tracks or we could slip and fall.
    We could even say to ourselves, 'there's no way I'm dumb enough to fight the train' and hang back to safely wait. Then the next thing we know, a truck rams us from behind, throwing us straight into the train's path.
    If it is our destiny to be hit by the train, we will be hit by the train. The only thing we can change is how the train turns us into hamburger."
    Now me, I struggle to stay alive every day against all the needless hate the world can throw at me for something I can't help (my lack of social skills) if I believed that crap, I would've pulled the trigger long ago, but now I live for the hope that someday things will be better, but in the meantime I will take pride in pissing people off with my mere existence.
    They say the strongest steel is forged in the fires of hell, just don't be surprised when it comes out tainted.
