    They released the G1 here in the US finally within the last week or so, picked one up today and never owned a mop-like product like this before. Vacuumed and then put the G1 to the test. I was shocked. First, by how fast and effectively it worked. Second, by just how much extra it cleaned up off the floor even when it looked clean to the naked eye. Amazing product! Expensive but if it works well, I’m willing to pay it. Great video there, mate! Thanks for sharing it with us!

      I heard you mention the machine does not heat the water, but will it work well if you use hot water from the tap instead of tepid?

      @@motivatedtravel hey mate, one question if I may! After using the Dyson, how exactly are we supposed to dry the rollers? I’ve been trying to do some research today and some people say the rollers are wet and don’t self dry, but I can’t find an exact answer if we are supposed to pull the rollers, or if we just leave them installed and they’ll eventually air dry.

    • @motivatedtravel
      @motivatedtravel  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      @@Deetroiter I think you can just leave them and they will eventually air dry. They don't self dry. I found they stay wet for quite a while, but they are a clean wet if that makes sense. It self cleans, so it doesn't smell so much. But I guess it could get mouldy if you don't watch out.

    You definitely put through the torture test - to give the best chance I vacuum first and only use the G1 as a mop

    • @motivatedtravel

      Yeah a bit more than you'd usually put it through I agree. It did it all though, although struggled with the egg shell. I think mostly because it stuck to the roller brushes.

    Great review mate, very thorough, and actual real-world testing is so helpful.. picking up big pieces like those raisins, and dense, sticky substance like honey is actually very shocking - didn't anticipate it handling both those as efficiently as they did. Thanks for the video!

    Really cool product and reduces the need for forward and backward pulling, but very pricey. Will have to wait and see with Vacuum Wars tests, but I really appreciate that this separates solid and liquid from each other like the Hizero mops (those initially retailed for $700USD). I have a Tineco which just mixes everything together, so you have to do way more than just draining water after each use, more convenient than traditional mopping, but such a hassle.

    I rushed out to buy one (I live in Spain) and was really excited about it at first....about the fourth time I used it though, I kept getting an error message to empty the dirty water tank, even though I had just started to clean and it wasn't full. After watching the troubleshooting videos, I called Dyson and now they are sending me a replacement. In addition, it is easy to use but quite a hassle to clean--I found it difficult to remove the filter tray and brushes, and the water is saturated on the rollers so it will begin to smell a bit off after a while. Just a few things to consider. I hope when I get my replacement I will not have the error messages but I have read other people having the same issue.

    • @motivatedtravel
      @motivatedtravel  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Really sorry to hear about your experience, but glad it is getting replaced. I appreciate you sharing your experinece, too. I agree with your concerns. I found myself lifting it up onto my kitchen bench to clean it, which gives the best access, but isn't a great solution.

    I have had my Dyson for 6 weeks and love it. The only frustration I have is with taking out the red tray. I tried lifting it to the side put it up on the counter to see what am I doing wrong. In the end I have to wait for my husband to remove it. Even he battles to remove the tray and often it comes out with the rollers. Wish there was an easier way! 😜

    Love your honest review. Surprised that Dyson is so late to the game and that they release such a poorly done product that adds nothing to the wet/dry vacuum current market-Philips has done a similar product and I tested it and it was absolute garbage and just as pricey as that one so I brought it back to the store quickly to get my money back. Bissell and Dreame products do a far better job (powerful suction and easy cleaning of the tank and brush, especially Dreame) for much less money and they’re quite durable (at least mine are so far and yet I use them a dozen times a day because I have several dogs and my garden is quite muddy due to the weather here).

      Great feedback! I guess it depends a bit on what you're using it to clean up, but I can definitely see how it would generate a smell considering how much is still left on the rollers after a clean. For me though, it was mostly pet hair that didn't seem to self clean well.

    It's so overpriced considering a) doesn't vacuum, b) just does hard floors, c) can't get cleaning solution for it, d) the dock doesn't charge meaning you have to manually plug it in each time, and e) the four brushes tangle with hair, then the debris tray with separate components, dirt tank and its lid plus components have to cleaned by hand every time. Plenty of other brands have been doing it better for far longer.

    While it may not matter to them, Dyson is losing me as a customer. I’m tired of paying premium prices for products made with cheap, flimsy materials that leave much to be desired in terms of innovation and improvement. Take the cord management issue in this review, for instance - I expected a company like Dyson to consider every detail.
    I do like my Supersonic hair dryer; it’s solid. But my V15, while functional, feels poorly made and lacks durability. It even causes blisters on my thumb because no thought was put into creating a comfortable grip. It’s details like these that make a difference. I also purchased one of their fans, but I returned it immediately - the entire thing was flimsy plastic with weak airflow.

    • @motivatedtravel
