    This review convinced me to buy the tineco since all of the “cons” are to be expected. Yes, you have to clean it out after using it. To my knowledge, there is no product that makes dirt and debris disappear into thin air. Yes, a vacuum makes noise. No, you shouldn’t clean up construction dust with a vacuum mop. That is a job for a shop vac. Thank you for the review. It was actually helpful because if those are the worst things, I’ll definitely be happy with this vacuum.

      I own the S5 Blue, the con on cleaning the tank isn't as bad as she makes it sound but to make life easier I do vacuum my whole house first which doesn't take long. It's easier to empty the vacuum then clean wet dust/detritus. Like you said, dirt doesn't just vanish cause you used a machine vs a mop. The mop is just leaving most of the crap behind. If people are cleaning their mops properly it takes way more effort to rinse and clean the mop than to rinse and clean this chamber.

    Thanks for posting. I do agree that I wouldn’t use it for cleaning large gunky messes. And yes it’s an additional step to clean the parts. But it’s necessary. I mean where is all that stuff going to go? Which leads me to my final thought. I find that when I clean with a regular mop no matter what I’m just pushing around the same dirty water on my floor. Unless I mop at least 3 times in a row with changing water. And THAT I don’t have time FOR. My Tineco cleans my floor much more thoroughly than plain mopping. And I’m also switching and washing mop heads for the mop. So for me my Tineco so far comes out ahead. But once again thanks for your post and valid points!

      yes, my hubby took my Tineco to his tiled cellar, and managed to clog it up with mud and stones, and then it leaked muddy water everywhere. of course he said my new vacuum was rubbish.... so no, it's not going to do a very gross clean up job.

      I 100% agree! That’s literally what we do when we mop the floor! We are just using dirty water and we are just spreading it all over. When I do mop like that, I use a long handle foam squeegee to wipe up all the dirty water, that will just dry onto my floor. I purchased a Hizero about 5 or 6 years ago, for that reason. Every day use and my floor was always spotless. I’m upgrading to a tineco now, only due to the roller. We just put new flooring in and I think the roller in the tineco will get into the tiny textured grooves a bit more. Once you get a mop/vac you never go back 🤣

    Thank you for the review. I will be upgrading my tineco s3 to s5. Cleaning the machine afterwards is not a big deal, I would clean my bucket and mop and then have to throw my mop to the washer machine, so 5 minutes of cleaning this is a win win for me. Plus you can leave it ready for next time. I leave mine ready all the time. I do use the Mr. Clean solution that kills 99% germs and it works well and my home smells amazing. I never clean when my little one sleeps, maybe try cleaning at the beginning of the day or when your daughter is playing with some toys. I haven’t come across a vacuum cleaner that doesn’t make noise so … I don’t know what to say after all. this is a vac and mop so is expected to be loud. I also tried the bissel and guess what? You also have to clean it after you use it. Dirty water sitting there whether is in a container or in a pond will always smell… the machine does come with 2 rollers so just empty it put the roller to dry and get the other roller ready. I hope those tips work for you, keep enjoying your vacuum.

    If you pull the dirty water tank apart and throw the parts into a sink of fresh water they are very easy to clean under a running tap. I can have all the washable parts cleaned in a few minutes and the machine is fresh and ready for next use. Personally I dont find this a big negative. I love my Tineco.

    • @happilyeverchristie
      @happilyeverchristie  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +12

      Yeah def is obvious. But what isn’t obvious is the need to do so many manual tasks to clean it. I figured by the advertising I would run the self cleaning option as it is advertised as “self cleaning” and then rinse off the parts. In actuality, I am running the self cleaning mode multiple times, cleaning out the tray it sits in, removing the roller and filter, manually removing hair from the tube. All of things one would figure self cleaning would take care.

    This is the best and most honest review I've seen for this vacuum mop! I watched all the videos I could find before buying my S5 about 2 years ago. Everyone really downplays the inconvenience of cleaning the machine after each use. It's not that big of a deal but it deters me from using it for small jobs.
    *The biggest issue I've found now, that would have stopped me from buying had I known, is the BATTERY! I can never finish my whole house (not very big) with one charge and you need to reserve 20-30% for the self cleaning. Now, after about 2yrs my battery has been draining much faster, but unlike some other brands, changing the battery takes some advanced know how that doesn't come from Tineco (maybe they figure you will just buy a new one?). Also, I really think these are designed more for uniformly flat/level floors, it's not very good at cleaning grout.

    • @goldenyarn7892
      @goldenyarn7892 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      This is what I have been saying. Cordless is a bad way to go. Having a cord sucks BUT the lifespan is WAY longer which absolutely matters for the price point. They are more reliable power wise. Performance isn’t reliant on how long it can hold a charge bc it’s receiving consistent flow of energy. The list goes on. If the cord doesn’t reach we have extensions lol. Very minor draw back compared to the pros. Having to rinse out some of the parts to prevent stink and promote longevity is not as difficult of a task as she’s making it to be. Considering the machine did all the hard work for you having to take a few minutes after each use to rinse things out shouldn’t be a big deal. It’s not going to clean itself.

    I just moved from an apartment after living there for 19 years and with carpet to a place that doesnt have carpet at all. I can tell you that just like the tineco you also have to clean the shampooer everytime you clean the carpets, so that isnt a deal breaker for me, because I would clean it ever single time anyways. I have the extreme and I do not regret a thing about it. Ive been vacuuming then washing the floors and I could not believe the amount of stuff it picks up. All of the places/parts that need cleaning each time make it seem like it’s not worth the “high tech” option of less elbow grease when mopping. Yes, I do not have 2 months of use behind my belt like you do, however, I do not agree with you. Every mop needs to be cleaned after every use. I really don’t think it’s a lot of work. I usually leave everything air drying after every use. Take the brush out and stand it up. I also don’t have a lot of dirt in my house as I try to keep it really clean (having a baby that is starting to crawl). I suggest cleaning more often. Places with more hair (bathroom?) I would vacuum clean first. I think this machine is worth the hype. I love it. Thank you!

I LOVE the idea of mopping my entire home without using 6 - 8 mop pads to do so, and having to wash and dry the mop pads for the next usage. My Tineco S5 steamer will arrive tomorrow, and I'm super excited!

    thanks for the video and your perspective! personally, the work of filling up a bucket multiple times and having to ring out a mop is HELLLLLL to me. having to just clean the wetvac parts seems easy enough especially since i don't think i'll have to clean the roller each time manually since it does the self-cleaning. lastly, like other commenters have mentioned, they vacuum beforehand which to me isnt a huge deal either because i already use a vacuum and its super fast. i think it comes down to our individual preferences for what is more work for us. thanks again for the video :)

      I have the Bissell Hydrosteam. I vacuum the floors first and clean up spills another way. The Hydrosteam works great when used as a just a vacuum mop. The Tineco probably would too. Anyway, I have the corded version of the Bissell. Power cord model offers better suction, no limits on run time, and no expensive batteries to replace either. Also, it has less electronics, which usually means less that can go wrong. I just clean the waste tank in the sink and use the auto clean for the roller. No smells.

    This video helped a lot. Thank you. I had been considering one of these. I have a cat and a lot of laminate flooring and I had thought one of these would make my life easier but I doubt that it will. Having to dry mop with a Swiffer or microfibre cloth first before using this to wash the floor totally defeats the purpose of having an all in one. I'll stick with my Dyson vacuum and microfibre damp mop.

    Hi there! I sub'd for you. The channels I see really take off are those who start putting out daily content. Nothing major, but frequent. Live streams work cuz there's no editing. Plus you can take questions and that way your audience is providing art of yr content. Also just doing a quick live to make an announcement or to talk about something in the news is really a nice thing for us. We LOVE hearing from you. It doesn't have to be perfect or even be a big deal. You can do a live where you're mainly just asking us what we want or our opinions about all kinds of things.

    I usually run the self cleaning mode more than once so when I empty the dirty water tank very few things remain. I prefer doing that than using a mop because with the mop you cannot constantly change the water so indeed you are spreading dirty water around.

    Thank you for sharing your thoughts. I just purchased the S5 Steam, the plan is to use it on my fairly clean floor. I did notice some reviews were picking up egg and other debris and I thought that was odd as it will be harder cleaning the machine compared to wipe up using a towel. I hope you have gotten over the initial issues and that you are happier with the use and maintenance. Luckily I purchased mine while their was £100 off and I also found a 15% discount coupon, so thought it was worth a go.

    Hi, I didn’t get a Tineco because I was told it requires connection to your WiFi or cell data for updates. And to get those updates it connects to a Chinese server which could be downloading who knows what. So I’m wondering if it’s been your experience that you have to have it connected to use the machine or can you refrain from it completely? I ended up getting a Bissel Crosswave Pet and it’s been great, if you ever decide to change this would be a good option though it is somewhat similar. Like it definitely should be cleaned after every use but it’s pretty simple to do so. And one thing I def appreciate more since hearing your experience is I can use other cleaners. The Bissel cleaner is good but sometimes you want to use your own stuff. I haven’t had any issues with that and I’ve used all sorts of things in it. Pine Sol, Clorox, Lysol, Mr clean etc etc.
    Thanks for any info, I like what I got but have wondered if the WiFi/china servers/can download anything is real…

    Thanks for sharing. For some reason, my filter does not get dirty enough to need to clean out. I finger wipe the areas near the roller and then run water over them in the sink, then let them air dry.
    I find less solution is ok. I bought some bissell crosswave solution and used a very small amount 50ml. My tapwater is around 140c.
    Also if the roller is dirty, wash it under running water before running the clean cycle so it comes out dryer.
    I agree there are a few steps to it, but when doing all the main areas the extra steps seem ok for the results and time saving.

    I have a similar vacuum-mop and I agree the cleanup after using the machine is a lot of work. This is really a mop appliance. If you dry-vacuum your floors first you avoid most of the hair getting stuck everywhere in the vac-mop but then you are no longer vacuuming and mopping at the same time.
    When I am just cleaning 1 or 2 rooms I find the Bissell SpinWave is less cleanup. I vacuum first, then use the SpinWave to mop. After I'm done I empty the remaining clean water and throw the dirty mop pads in the laundry basket to wash with my towels.

    Cleaning isn’t the issue for me. Just concerned about abrasive to my wood floors by wet mopping every time I vacuum. I’d rather vacuum only sometimes. Can I do that with S5?

  • @emyeu6286
    @emyeu6286 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I have 3 kids and 2 cats and I find that this saves a lot of time despite having to clean the parts. It’s like using a mop bucket u have to rinse it out, clean the mop head etc. With the mop/bucket method, you keep using dirty water to “clean” your floors 🤢 I would say the ONLY con for me is that it is not edge to edge. On one side of the vacuum it does clean the edge, but on the other side it doesn’t and no online review mentions that so I’m wondering if mine is just a lemon?

    I have the s3, 2 years now, laminate flooring, 2 dogs, a baby and we are making a lot of mess all day all of us. Im using the tineco every day, sometimes 2 times per day. A lot of dog hair . My cons are, that really spits the hair out after wile of using, cannot go to the corners of the floor and that is frustrating for me because I have to use always before or after the hand vacuum for the corners. Leaves a lot of hair behind, but today i was reading that i sould change the brush roller every 3 months. I will see with the new ones if perfomes better.

Yes, you do have to clean it out after using it but I just put down a hand towel and place all the rinsed parts on it to dry. I would much rather have this than a smelly old mop head. I just recently had to replace my Tineco mop after 2 years. I can tell you that I used rubbing alcohol instead of the Tineco cleaner. Worked great. No suds plus there's the added benefit of sanitizing your floors. It does leave a slight sterile rubbing alcohol smell though. I replaced my Tineco with the Bissell crosswave mostly the same problems though plus I think the crosswave is even louder than the Tineco. Just in case you were curious.

    I agree with you. I got a similar wet vacuum from Bissell and I was surprised with how much time it takes to clean it just to use it again. And not only that but also the fact that after a while it doesn’t matter how much you clean it, but filters and rollers need to be replaced because they just stink. And that’s expensive. Some in the comments are saying it’s normal and that you would have to do it too if it was a normal mop and bucket, but actually it’s nothing compared. I honestly regret my purchase because having to spend 20 min cleaning the machine every time I need to use it (and I have 4 cats so I use it a lot for short cleaning sessions) it’s way more than just grabbing my Dyson and separate mop and then throwing out the dirty water and washing mop head in the washing machine. This is a 500$ vacuum so the pros need to outweigh the cons significantly and in my opinion it’s not the case. I wish I had seen a review like this before because it talks about daily use of the device and if I had known I would have kept my money or bought something else.

    Very helpful! I am starting my research journey and was thinking about buying this even though it is super expensive. I have 2 dogs that shed and I find myself constantly sweeping then mopping and it's becoming tiring. This does not sound like it would be ideal for those of us with dogs that shed for it sounds like the clumps of hair get so soggy it spits them right back out.

      @happilyeverchristie  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Glad to help! It doesn’t happen all the time but just enough that it’s annoying. If you have steps in your house this is also not ideal to clean steps. I don’t think the machine is the worst thing ever but for the price point I had higher expectations.

  • @tatianavidalia8007
    @tatianavidalia8007 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I think you should get ahold of the company because I have one and I have 4 dogs who shed like crazy and I have long hair that gets everywhere and it picks up everything including the hair, so it’s possible that there’s something wrong with the one you bought, I would call the company and have them replace it with a new one, also you are able to use other cleaners with it. They just have to be a low foam based cleaner and only use small amounts. I have a big house so my only issue with it is it only has 20min of run time, other than that it works perfectly, and picks up everything and does everything it’s supposed to do.

    I found your video as mostly cons than pros on this product. Like you I went into the purchase without much research so the learning curve to use it took me a few hours. They do not give instruction to how to use it, but I suggest “Just a Dad” previews on this product. He gave me two points you missed.
    I LOVE the fact that you can clean every part so it doesn’t stink or get yucky. And it only takes a couple minutes.
    It has a self cleaning mode for the roller. Place the vac/mop on the charger and push the water drop button on top of the handle. It goes into a self clean mode for the roller. You should still take it out and clean the tray.
    This vac/mop pulls on its own so it does the work for you. You don’t need to push and pull it.
    So I would recommend this product if you have wood or tile floors. This is NOT for carpets. So don’t vacuum your carpet with it!
    But I understand when you say this takes more time. If you are a mother with a couple kids or more, or have ADHD and get distracted, cleaning it would be a drag. But I am very pleased with the purchase as many of the other contributors seem to be🙂

    Love my Tineco iFLOOR 3 Breeze Complete. It isn't a hassle for me to clean it after every mopping because I use my Tineco A10 cordless vacuum first, then use the 3 Breeze to mop. The 3 Breeze is much sturdier than the A10, no doubt. Have two more Hoover cordless vacuums (ONEPWR Evolve Elite and the HEPA ONEPWR Bagged upright) in case the A10 breaks on me, but not worried about the Breeze at all. Can you tell I don't like corded vacuums anymore? I do have a corded Hoover Wind Tunnel 3, but truthfully, the Hoover and Tineco cordless vacuums do just as good at picking up dirt and dust as the plug in Hoover, and no cords. Spare batteries and chargers make all the difference as well.
