Thank you for the review. I will be upgrading my tineco s3 to s5. Cleaning the machine afterwards is not a big deal, I would clean my bucket and mop and then have to throw my mop to the washer machine, so 5 minutes of cleaning this is a win win for me. Plus you can leave it ready for next time. I leave mine ready all the time. I do use the Mr. Clean solution that kills 99% germs and it works well and my home smells amazing. I never clean when my little one sleeps, maybe try cleaning at the beginning of the day or when your daughter is playing with some toys. I haven’t come across a vacuum cleaner that doesn’t make noise so … I don’t know what to say after all. this is a vac and mop so is expected to be loud. I also tried the bissel and guess what? You also have to clean it after you use it. Dirty water sitting there whether is in a container or in a pond will always smell… the machine does come with 2 rollers so just empty it put the roller to dry and get the other roller ready. I hope those tips work for you, keep enjoying your vacuum.

i have a very similar Tineco mop/vac.... and you are 110% correct on needing to clean out the "parts" of the Tineco after each use. That said, its not too bad once you get used to it. Also, I prefer the Tineco for its hard-floor cleaning, and because its easy to clean it after its used.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts. I just purchased the S5 Steam, the plan is to use it on my fairly clean floor. I did notice some reviews were picking up egg and other debris and I thought that was odd as it will be harder cleaning the machine compared to wipe up using a towel. I hope you have gotten over the initial issues and that you are happier with the use and maintenance. Luckily I purchased mine while their was £100 off and I also found a 15% discount coupon, so thought it was worth a go.

Thanks for posting. I do agree that I wouldn’t use it for cleaning large gunky messes. And yes it’s an additional step to clean the parts. But it’s necessary. I mean where is all that stuff going to go? Which leads me to my final thought. I find that when I clean with a regular mop no matter what I’m just pushing around the same dirty water on my floor. Unless I mop at least 3 times in a row with changing water. And THAT I don’t have time FOR. My Tineco cleans my floor much more thoroughly than plain mopping. And I’m also switching and washing mop heads for the mop. So for me my Tineco so far comes out ahead. But once again thanks for your post and valid points!

yes, my hubby took my Tineco to his tiled cellar, and managed to clog it up with mud and stones, and then it leaked muddy water everywhere. of course he said my new vacuum was rubbish.... so no, it's not going to do a very gross clean up job.

I 100% agree! That’s literally what we do when we mop the floor! We are just using dirty water and we are just spreading it all over. When I do mop like that, I use a long handle foam squeegee to wipe up all the dirty water, that will just dry onto my floor. I purchased a Hizero about 5 or 6 years ago, for that reason. Every day use and my floor was always spotless. I’m upgrading to a tineco now, only due to the roller. We just put new flooring in and I think the roller in the tineco will get into the tiny textured grooves a bit more. Once you get a mop/vac you never go back 🤣

If you pull the dirty water tank apart and throw the parts into a sink of fresh water they are very easy to clean under a running tap. I just moved from an apartment after living there for 19 years and with carpet to a place that doesnt have carpet at all. I can tell you that just like the tineco you also have to clean the shampooer everytime you clean the carpets, so that isnt a deal breaker for me, because I would clean it ever single time anyways. I have the extreme and I do not regret a thing about it. Ive been vacuuming then washing the floors and I could not believe the amount of stuff it picks up. I guess its just personal preference because I would not trade it for anything unless it was upgraded version of the tineco

I love this machine. My advice is 1. always plan to clean it after (it really isn't that much work especially after getting used to it) , and 2. If you have dogs or cats that shed, do a dry mop with a Swiffer or vacuum to collect all the hair first

I bought the S7 Pro. I'm very happy with it. I never realized cordless made cleaning so fast and easy! My floors are tile and hardwood. I foster cats so there's dirty feet coming in the house all day. This machine cleans exceptionally well, better than my Hoover or Bissell ever did. I've gone through 3 of those! No leakage, it picks up all the cat hair. Leaves the floor almost dry. The DWT does fill quickly. I'm waiting to buy extra tanks so I don't have to stop as much. I love it self cleans the roller. Saves me from having to do that. I don't have some of the issues you have, maybe the S7 corrected those. I did do my homework. I know the faults of the other machines. The motors don't last and so many areas leak if not cleaned properly. I'm planning on buying the steam cleaner too. Thanks for the tip on using alcohol. Though it is nice you don't go through the solution as fast (unless you use Ultra mode)! I like the fresh, clean but faint smell it leaves behind. It doesn't bother any of the kitties. Thanks for posting!

Hi, thank you for your video and your perspective on Tineco. So I just purchased mine couple weeks ago and so far I am loving it. Yes, I do not have 2 months of use behind my belt like you do, however, I do not agree with you. Every mop needs to be cleaned after every use. I really don’t think it’s a lot of work. I usually leave everything air drying after every use. Take the brush out and stand it up. I also don’t have a lot of dirt in my house as I try to keep it really clean (having a baby that is starting to crawl). I suggest cleaning more often. Places with more hair (bathroom?) I would vacuum clean first. I think this machine is worth the hype. I love it. Thank you!

Omg, I’ve never heard so much whining about minor issues. I’ve got the same machine and having used MANY vacuums and hard floor cleaners over the years, this is by far one of the best and most user friendly machines I’ve used.
You’re complaining that you need to dump the dirty water after you use it, and also complaining the water is “icky” and dirty … well duuuh! It’s dirty mop water! Tip it down the sink, rinse it out under the tap, and leave it on the side to air dry. I just timed myself doing mine, it took 11 seconds! Get a grip.
You could go back to using a traditional vacuum, and then mop and bucket. But be warned you will need to dump the dirty mop water when you’re done!
It wakes my baby up, well it’s a vacuum cleaner! They aren’t silent…. And for cleaning up after builders messes, I’d recommend a shop vac for that - ps they make noise too

I have a similar vacuum-mop and I agree the cleanup after using the machine is a lot of work. This is really a mop appliance. If you dry-vacuum your floors first you avoid most of the hair getting stuck everywhere in the vac-mop but then you are no longer vacuuming and mopping at the same time.
When I am just cleaning 1 or 2 rooms I find the Bissell SpinWave is less cleanup. I vacuum first, then use the SpinWave to mop. After I'm done I empty the remaining clean water and throw the dirty mop pads in the laundry basket to wash with my towels.

Love my Tineco iFLOOR 3 Breeze Complete. It isn't a hassle for me to clean it after every mopping because I use my Tineco A10 cordless vacuum first, then use the 3 Breeze to mop. The 3 Breeze is much sturdier than the A10, no doubt. Have two more Hoover cordless vacuums (ONEPWR Evolve Elite and the HEPA ONEPWR Bagged upright) in case the A10 breaks on me, but not worried about the Breeze at all. Can you tell I don't like corded vacuums anymore? I do have a corded Hoover Wind Tunnel 3, but truthfully, the Hoover and Tineco cordless vacuums do just as good at picking up dirt and dust as the plug in Hoover, and no cords. Spare batteries and chargers make all the difference as well.

Great review and the same reasons I decided to pass on this vacuum mop. I decided to go with the Hizero Bionic mop and I love it! Was able to get 15% off which made it cheaper than Tineco and its leaps and bounds better with performance and cleaning. You may want to check it out when your ready for a change. Take care!

@happilyeverchristie You're welcome. I have been using for about 2 weeks now and one thing I have started to notice is that if your floors are not totally flat it doesn't so as well. Flat floors it's fine but tile or textured and it will not clean as well. I may be looking into something else for that reason. Thanks 😊

Thanks for sharing. For some reason, my filter does not get dirty enough to need to clean out. I finger wipe the areas near the roller and then run water over them in the sink, then let them air dry.
I find less solution is ok. I bought some bissell crosswave solution and used a very small amount 50ml. My tapwater is around 140c.
Also if the roller is dirty, wash it under running water before running the clean cycle so it comes out dryer.
I agree there are a few steps to it, but when doing all the main areas the extra steps seem ok for the results and time saving.

I normally run a self clean, empty and quick rinse of the parts. Use one (filter, roller) and dry one. Set the dry one on for next time; proper clean once a month. I’ve got the steam version. Best machine I’ve bought for my home

I do wish I’d seen a review like this before I bought mine. No one else shows how to clean and maintain these things in their reviews! And the worst part is, it doesn’t seem to do a good job scrubbing the floor. It doesn’t look like I mopped afterwards because all the spots that were there before will still be there. Anyway, great review!

I usually run the self cleaning mode more than once so when I empty the dirty water tank very few things remain. I prefer doing that than using a mop because with the mop you cannot constantly change the water so indeed you are spreading dirty water around.

I find cleaning it is relatively quick, a finger wipe and rinse under the tap for the gunk near the vacuum entrance, and roller cover. I'd do that before running the final self clean (if you have a large home). Bissell makes some that seem ok foe pets. Maybe they are better with hair. Also, on Amazon I managed to get 4 rollers, and 8 filters and a cutting board for $20. The rollers were the right length and good.

it has a self-clean, and there's a second roller and filter, so it's not a big deal. actually, you should be cleaning most vacuums often anyway, and stick vacuums have the same demands, even though most people don't bother.

I think you should get ahold of the company because I have one and I have 4 dogs who shed like crazy and I have long hair that gets everywhere and it picks up everything including the hair, so it’s possible that there’s something wrong with the one you bought, I would call the company and have them replace it with a new one, also you are able to use other cleaners with it. They just have to be a low foam based cleaner and only use small amounts. I have a big house so my only issue with it is it only has 20min of run time, other than that it works perfectly, and picks up everything and does everything it’s supposed to do.

Hi, I didn’t get a Tineco because I was told it requires connection to your WiFi or cell data for updates. And to get those updates it connects to a Chinese server which could be downloading who knows what. So I’m wondering if it’s been your experience that you have to have it connected to use the machine or can you refrain from it completely? I ended up getting a Bissel Crosswave Pet and it’s been great, if you ever decide to change this would be a good option though it is somewhat similar. Like it definitely should be cleaned after every use but it’s pretty simple to do so. And one thing I def appreciate more since hearing your experience is I can use other cleaners. The Bissel cleaner is good but sometimes you want to use your own stuff. I haven’t had any issues with that and I’ve used all sorts of things in it. Pine Sol, Clorox, Lysol, Mr clean etc etc.
Thanks for any info, I like what I got but have wondered if the WiFi/china servers/can download anything is real…

Great video! --- We've been using a different brand model for 2 years now, and same experience with the cleaning effort. Looks like these companies aren't there yet with their wet vacuums.
I'd rate this extra effort even more important than the quality of the clean, or "how many passes to clean up xyz".

It takes me less than a minute to clean it, after I used it. I have had it for a year now and is making my life much easier, having a 7yo and a dog at home. Worth every £ I paid for it but, that's my personal opinion 🤷🏽‍♀️

  • @allisonshape65

Thanks for the review. My opinion is that I would have to clean my regular mop and bucket, which takes the same amount of time as this, if not less time. As far as fine wood/construction dust, I dont think most vacuums are made to clean that up. Shop vacs are. For example, dry wall dust will ruin filters on regular vacuums, and I would assume the same for this machine. I just bought my S5 Pro 2. There is a tag to register the unit, and you get a free bottle of cleaning solution - just pay shipping. This machine is more quiet then my shark navigator vacuum, and it has way less noise than the crosswave.

I have 3 kids and 2 cats and I find that this saves a lot of time despite having to clean the parts. It’s like using a mop bucket u have to rinse it out, clean the mop head etc. With the mop/bucket method, you keep using dirty water to “clean” your floors 🤢 I would say the ONLY con for me is that it is not edge to edge. On one side of the vacuum it does clean the edge, but on the other side it doesn’t and no online review mentions that so I’m wondering if mine is just a lemon?

  • @jennifermcknight1621

It is a bit more time to clean the unit after you clean the floor. However, the effort it takes to clean the floor in my eyes is a lot less. I don't have to lug around a bucket of water and then clean that after. So I really don't mind the extra 2 mins it takes to clean the machine. Taking it apart really doesn't take more than a couple mins and it really beats an old dirty mop head. Worst case if you don't have time you can do the minimum of taking the roller out, dumping the water and quickly cleaning the tank. I do 2 sometimes 3 self cleans and it helps a lot. I bought the cheapest model at the time or almost. Bought it about a year ago and I'm about to buy the carpet cleaner. This with a robot vac has saved my sanity 😂

I agree with you. I got a similar wet vacuum from Bissell and I was surprised with how much time it takes to clean it just to use it again. And not only that but also the fact that after a while it doesn’t matter how much you clean it, but filters and rollers need to be replaced because they just stink. And that’s expensive. Some in the comments are saying it’s normal and that you would have to do it too if it was a normal mop and bucket, but actually it’s nothing compared. I honestly regret my purchase because having to spend 20 min cleaning the machine every time I need to use it (and I have 4 cats so I use it a lot for short cleaning sessions) it’s way more than just grabbing my Dyson and separate mop and then throwing out the dirty water and washing mop head in the washing machine. This is a 500$ vacuum so the pros need to outweigh the cons significantly and in my opinion it’s not the case. I wish I had seen a review like this before because it talks about daily use of the device and if I had known I would have kept my money or bought something else.

Thank you so much for your thorough review on this wet dry vacuum. I literally was two minutes away from purchasing it. I was originally going to buy just a vacuum but then came across this one and said yes this product would be great for me. One stop shop. I get vacuum and mop at the same time. But after hearing your review I definitely don’t want to deep clean the vacuum after every use. I say deep clean cause that’s what it would feel like. Lol. You did an excellent review. Maybe deep cleaning and spending money on the cleaner wouldn’t be a deal breaker for some but me it is. So thank you for that. I just subscribed to your channel and look forward to seeing more of your videos. 😊

I think everything you said was valid . Especially what you said about the hair . For me I don’t think it actually sounded like more work just different work. Like complaining about cleaning the machine made me feel like you don’t dump your mop bucket multiple times during mopping or clean the bucket when done . From your reaction I think the bigger problem for you is you personally are super off put by wet crumbles so it feels like a bigger chore than dry crumbs and separate dirty water. I’m not judging it’s just something i noticed since I’m also super off put by wet hair , crumbs and old food.
I think the average person without the sensory sensitivities wouldn’t even notice it as extra

I have the s3, 2 years now, laminate flooring, 2 dogs, a baby and we are making a lot of mess all day all of us. Im using the tineco every day, sometimes 2 times per day. A lot of dog hair . My cons are, that really spits the hair out after wile of using, cannot go to the corners of the floor and that is frustrating for me because I have to use always before or after the hand vacuum for the corners. Leaves a lot of hair behind, but today i was reading that i sould change the brush roller every 3 months. I will see with the new ones if perfomes better.

Really thorough and thoughtful review. I have a cheaper lower model Tineco and agree with the ‘cons.’ That said, (1) I use much less cleaner. I actually think hot water by itself does a pretty good job, (2) like me, you have a pretty diverse set of conditions, women with long hair in the house and pet hair and I have yet to find any solution that those would not be issues (ie my Miele vacs rollers always have long hair on them). (3) all mopping solutions from manual to electric has some gunk cleaning and drying of parts. I got tired or wringing out swiffer and sponge type mops and spraying down solvents etc… Tineco seems easiest to me. (4) there really isn’t another option in the wet floor cleaning space, Bissell, Hoover? Not thanks. (5) I am fortunate to have a cordless floor vac that I prevac the kitchen floor to get up the big debris and then use my Tineco 1 to wet clean the area, like I did with the old fashioned mops, making the water and buildup less gunky. (6) you are dead on right about smell when cleaning a day late. But I just send thru a couple extra cleaning cycles and it gets rid of smell. Thanks again!

I bet the low sud laundry soap for front loading washers would be just perfect for this machine. Most people have that on hand anyway. That's what I'd be using. Needing to clean it after is still a lot less than lugging a mop, bucket, filling w/ water. Needing to rinse the mop, and likely change the water a time or so. Then needed to rinse and ring the mop at the end, and empty a few buckets full of water. Much more work to do that, not to mention manually scrubbing your floor. This takes the elbow grease out and this model is even self propelled.

I have a 1.2 sqft apartment. Making a mop bucket and then putting the microfiber head into the wash and dryer takes sooo much longer. You can get away with instantly cleaning by just rinsing it off after each use. It’s like a stick Dyson. It won’t replace it all.

Very helpful! I am starting my research journey and was thinking about buying this even though it is super expensive. I have 2 dogs that shed and I find myself constantly sweeping then mopping and it's becoming tiring. This does not sound like it would be ideal for those of us with dogs that shed for it sounds like the clumps of hair get so soggy it spits them right back out.
