No kidding. I spent like 45 minutes trying to feed the line through. Staring at the "instruction card". I am still struggling to wind the line back INTO the spool. This is by far the most tedious reloading of a a weed wacker I have ever encountered. Wild! Thank you for your help. 😉

I had a model older than this one that I love. My sister has difficulty with tools that are too heavy and she actually loved mine and found it easy to use th-cam.com/users/postUgkx_rBCFuDW1zD6blTGhLkvAkxU657uR_lG . This is a newer model but was even lighter which she really appreciates. She enjoys it and I no longer have to go to her house to trim as she can handle it fine. Haven't used it enough to comment on the battery life but lithium batteries last longer than the old style. Being cordless makes it easy to trim the far edges of the property. The entire yard can be trimmed with one charged battery.

Thank you!! I can’t put my hands on the manual right now & I’m sitting out here in 101* trying to finish this yard before it gets dark or it storms...both of which are about to happen any minute now & I’ve been trying to do the old school method...pulling it apart etc...I thought my line was out but I had beaucoup left. I didn’t realize this was a bump model. The last weed eater I had was an auto feed (which never worked properly) & this Ryobi is the second weed eater Ive ever owned so I didn’t know anything about bumping...I pulled the head off & about a foot of string flew out so I’ve been trying to manually rewind it & put it back together for about 15 minutes 🥴🥴🥴 I was ready to toss the whole weed eater over the neighbors fence 🤣🤣🤣💯💯💯

Awesome! Thank you! I have all the paper work that came with mine (I think anyway), and not a single word on how to do this.

@@scratchgolf Well don't give up. If I figure it out myself I'll return the favor. I do know it becomes a job like anything else. So you do have to devote the time and effort into it as if it is a job which is something I have myself not been able to do because of my mental flaws and attention deficit. I am 69 YO crazy old man. Have a great day, Lets save the planet!

Thanks so much for this. Whacker belongs to my brother & he's out of town so I needed help with restringing. Yes I had taken the unit apart & then did a search on You Tube. You wouldn't think a tutorial like this would be needed but IT WAS. My only suggestion is to remind viewers to turn the knob so arrows are not lined up once unit is threaded (I think we are supposed to do this). You could add this step via text. You're a life saver!

@@scratchgolf is there a way to keep the whacker turned on or do I have to grip the lever the entire time as I am doing now. It's hard on the hands after a couple of hours.

@@scratchgolf my Ryobi whacker got stuck in "on" mode for the last hour of my whacking. I unplugged it then replugged & it was still stuck on "onn" mode. It has done this before but never stayed on after unplugging. It made whacking much easier. Will check status tomorrow.
